Totally agree! The CRF 250 F is perfect for those laid-back trail rides with minimal maintenance...just a solid reliable bike that can last a long time. Sometimes it's nice to hop on something not so high-strung and just cruise, just like the good old days when we used to ride minibikes with friends and have a blast going slow. Keep up the great vids!
My best friend who was an A level rider finished 16th overall out of 800 at riders on completley stock 1986 Honda XR200r at 100 mile desert race which was insane and 98% the rider!😳👍🏁
I just got mine a month ago, and with no experience riding a dirt bike before, I’m extremely happy I went with the 250F, my friend was ever surprised how fast I was progressing, but it’s all due to the bike and how confidence inspiring it is.
I feel that’s exactly it! The bike makes people feel comfortable rather than scared which then allows them to progress faster and learn the fundamentals easier. Glad you’re enjoying it!
We have a 2019 CRF230F that is a great woods / trail bike.FMF exhaust re- jetted pro taper bars, up graded foot pegs and few other goodies. At age 58 and a life long rider its a great bike for me for all the reasons you state about the 250.My 3 adult sons all have race bikes but eveyrone loves riding the 230 in the woods. The power is smooth with lots of low end torque makes it just "easy"
I agree! I've had two kx250f's in the past and was lucky enough to trade one for a 2022 crf250f and the power is so much more manageable and easier and more fun to ride and practice on. Great video!
I’ve had my CRF250F for almost a year now and I love it so much! I’m a pretty inexperienced driver because I’m in the valley of Arizona so there isn’t much trails unless you wanna drive up north but whenever I go it’s a blast and it’s super easy to control
Great video and i agree. I've seen some other videos where guys took trail bikes out in harescrambles and did ok. My CRF230F is a blast on trails. I had a chance to ride a CRF250RX yesterday and it was a nice bike but it would take some drastic changes in my trail riding style. That thing wanted to go.
@@notsoupmoto It was a great bike but I'd have to learn it. I took it on part of the trail but didn't want to wreck the guy's 3 week old bike. 😁 You'd probably have fun if you've already ripped on your yz125.
@@RitterRundown i'm always the same way when i'm riding other people's bikes haha usually a little more conservative about hitting jumps or doing anything gnarly
alot of people want to compare the 250f to a race bike for some reason when even honda doesnt try to make any claim that points it towards a performance bike. but when it comes down to it its a peppy trail bike especially if u weigh under 150 but the biggest thing is that its predictable and thats how you can be fast it reacts the same everytime you give it throttle and its linear no power band that can surprise you.
I love this video because it shows how you don’t really need a race bike for racing!! Im doing my first woods race in November on my klx 140rf but like you said with these trail bikes the suspension isn’t ideal so i put on a stiffer dmv rear shock and stiffer front springs and the difference is absolutely night and day. Im hoping I’ll hold up good against the race bikes. 🙏
that's exciting! good luck in november i'm doing my first harescramble next weekend so we'll see how it goes haha. i'm gonna race the crf Might end up trying to upgrade the suspension at some point but I think the next things I'm gonna get are a headlight and a set of new tires with bibs. thanks for the comment!
@@notsoupmoto sweet, Good luck! Also I’m telling you out of the 10+ mods I’ve done to my klx the suspension is by far my favourite, but the only thing that almost made me pick up a crf250f was that fuel injection man that would be nice 😂 my bike is currently in the shop because i cant tune a carb for crap lol.
@@notsoupmoto i bet lol, I’ve seen people buy ecu’s for the crf250f and supposedly it can open the bike up alot more, because honda makes it pretty restricted from factory like any trail bike
Awesome vid. Seat time has really been helping me out, and you’re right, it’s so much more ridable that you are able to like calmly understand the basics without getting exhausted with a bike like the YZ 125. You should get sponsored by Honda fr…
It’s basically an updated XR-250R and they have always been a great trail bike. BTW, a two tooth rear sprocket will fit with the stock chain. I’ve always geared down my dirt bikes. If you think that would hurt your top speed, you are riding the wrong bike.
My nephew has a '21 and when I do ride it (from time to time) I can RIP on the thing. It has great frame geometry and it's easy to move around on. The power is honestly not too shabby, yeah, it won't pull like a 250/300 2t or 450, but for the woods, it's a great machine to have fun on and super easy to work on. Also, your buddy that was racing, it's 90% rider 10% bike honestly. The suspension can't be pushed too hard with the stuck CRF250F, but it can be fixed up pretty good. My bud Adventure Daily (YT) has some GREAT vids about this bike.
as the 250f isnt available in my region, i splashed out and got a 250r. it isnt as good in tight woods as my 125 but it can pull like mental on uphils, cross country and loads of other stuff if you have a friend of a friend who has one i highly recommend you give it a go on slightly more open trails
i actually traded my DRZ in for the crf th-cam.com/video/5H-T0zXAezU/w-d-xo.html but i do have a buddy who mayyyy be getting a DRZ400S in the future. if so (fingers crossed) I'll do some off road tests and videos with that thing... I never got the chance to with my SM because I never swapped out the street tires unfortunately we shall see 👀
The hand guards are Acerbis X-Ultimate You can get them a lot of places online and maybe order thru your local dirt bike dealer depending on what brands they carry
If I’m on an extreme level of skill on mtb and four wheelers, do you think I could learn to ride on a Crf150r because I’m planning on getting a fast bike that will last a long time and I don’t want to have to buy multiple bikes I’m trying to get one and done I have maybe a total time of 50 hours on a dirtbike
I'm contemplating suggesting this as a first bike for a friend who's around 5'11- 6', has some dirt bike/street bike experience. Do you think this bike will be too small?
nope I would say 5'6" is just fine for the 250f. it's a 3/4 size bike so it's much shorter than your typical mx bike. i know someone who's around 5'5" 5'6" and they can stand flat footed on the crf250f
depends on you inseam but as long as you can get 1 foot on the ground without feeling like your about to lose the bike your good. thats the main reason i got the bike is cuz im too short for any mx styled bike without it being leaned way over and i like trail riding where its likely you will need a foot down

You can get your suspension redone from Bruce and buying a Hagon rear shock.
