    Bought the wrong bike for the riding you do. It is common. So many people buy motocross race bikes and think that is the right answer, then they go to there local trails and with there lack of skills realize the bike sucks for what they are capable of doing. That's why Yamaha made the yz125x. It was made for trails, not a supercross track.👍

    • @notsoupmoto
      @notsoupmoto  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I’ve had the 125 for over 10 years and I used to do primarily motocross track riding. The 125x would be very neat to try out as I’ve been doing a lot more woods riding recently. My buddy’s 250x was awesome as well

    I got more hare scramble trophies on a yz125 than any other bike, they are just meant to be ridden fast, and pay attention to everything so you have to do that and it makes you a better rider.

    • @notsoupmoto
      @notsoupmoto  3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Yeah they're good to fast open stuff but struggle in tight single track compared to other bikes

    yz125x would solve almost all your issues; great for lugging and still pretty good at a motocross track. Also, a 450 and a 125 two-stroke are not even comparable; like comparing a crf50 to a top fuel dragster. You can also pour pre-portioned bottles of oil that you can dump in and go.

    • @notsoupmoto
      @notsoupmoto  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      yep I plan on doing some mods to mine to make it more similar to a 125x.
      Also I wouldn't say a 450 and a 125 2-stroke are not comparable. You can compare a 250 four stroke race bike to a 450 to illustrate the power difference (which is what I was doing) and the yz125 has only 6 less horsepower than a yz250f. My whole point was that the 125 2-stroke lacks power out of tight corners.
      And yeah sure, you can pre portion out your oil but it's still an extra step.
      Just my opinions... I like the yz125 a lot but there's some disadvantages to it, as with anything. Hence this video

    you should do a compression test (if you haven’t already) and see what’s up with that. Even not in powerband you will have throttle. You usually get 60-80 trail hours on a piston. If it’s low compression it’s gonna suuuuuuck bottom end.

    • @notsoupmoto
      @notsoupmoto  หลายเดือนก่อน

      The top end is freshly rebuilt on my bike and compression was fine. I was moreso highlighting the reasons the base model yz125 (i.e. not the yz125x) isn't ideal for woods riding since it was better designed and set up for moto. Better power in the upper-mid to top end range. In the future I plan on getting my suspension revalved for woods, and adding some additional mods like a flywheel weight to make the yz perform a little closer to how the 125x does so it's more tuned for woods riding. and I'll be making videos highlighting those changes and how they affect different aspects of riding it! thanks for the comment btw!
