Do you have to adjust weight and fuel in MSFS to match AH2 each time? I am currently involved with FSEconomy, and the program adjusts MSFS automatically. And that program hasn't really been updated or maintained since 2007. As for presentation, I wouldn't worry about it. I didn't view this video as a formal education lesson. Just watched for fun. Seems fine to me. But then again, I'm just an uneducated, sloppy speaking American.
No worries, it's all good. AH2 will update your fuel but not the weight. So what I do is get into the flight sim and then connect AH2. AH2 will update the fuel. You can adjust your weight accordingly inside the cockpit if you are so inclined. AH2 is mainly concerned with the amount of fuel you use. Also I think Nov 2023 was the last time AH2 was updated so fairly current and I know the developer follows the forum for any issues. Let me know if this helps or any other questions. Thanks for watching.
37:08 Very complete lessons. Too bad your delivery is so seriously lacking. Almost every other word seems to be "Uhhh" . But don't feel too bad. Americans are notorious for their poor speech delivery skills. It doesn't sound like a lack of education but chiefly in speech and delivery...nothing a Toastmasters group wouldn't help with. Reducing the amount of filler words such as "Uhhh"s, "And"s and other run-on filler words can help keep your audience engaged. The fillers make you sound dumb, uneducated and sound as if you are not sure of yourself. Also, I've noticed several misuses of the word elevation for altitude. You set your altitude, not your elevation. Elevation refers to terrain height. Altitude refers to aircraft height ABOVE an elevation or above sea level. We rarely refer to elevation in piloting. Still, very useful stuff. Thanks!
I appreciate the comments, just so you know I am retired and I do the gaming and video editing as a pass time. There was a reason I was an operations manger and not in sales or public speaking, I have always had to work hard at trying to reduce the pauses in my speaking, at this point not sure I can change but I keep trying. I fly in the simulator for fun and I do know the difference on altitude and elevation I am so in tuned to topography that I will use elevation in the wrong sense (outdoors guy). So I am not trying to teach anything about MSFS. This series is more focused on AH2 and that I can show my experience and hopefully help someone with this addon. Anything else I do in MSFS is for the enjoyment of flying and going places I may never get in real life. My current Alaska bush series is an example. Thanks for watching and understanding.
Yea, I suppose many ppl are just doing for fun. We should always strive to do our best. I'm new at AH2 and having fun. I started a base in KABQ and now flying to KLAS to open one there. I have $51M so far and hoping to buy another A320 and hire a couple pilots. Do you have a tutorial on building an office? I havent gotten that far but sounds interesting. Does it actually add it in scenery? How does that work? Anyway, thanks for the videos. Ive been in flight sim from day 1 almost. Bruce Artwick days on a TRS-80 Model I. I owned my own flight sim scenery company back in the 90s. Safari Fliteware. Lot of work. Now just fly for fun...retired.
Glad to hear you are retired and hope you are enjoying it, I am. No I haven't done one on the office and is something I plan to do in the future but summer vacation is coming and my annual pilgrimage to Alaska takes priority. So MSFS and AH2 will have to go on hold until the fall when I am back (Can't bring the big PC with me). I have been playing Air Hauler for a long time, started with Air Hauler and have graduated to the current iteration but have never done everything in one playthrough. I hope to do that this time around. I have done some videos to release through out the summer. I will be doing a channel update around mid May talking about the summer schedule. So right now my next couple of AH2 videos will be earning money so the AI pilots can have the summer off as well. A lot of work doing the AH2 videos as I have two different recordings going at the same time, one for MSFS and one for AH2 and then I have to match them up in the editor but part of the fun. My career was focused on data management so never got into the modeling or development. It always sounded fun. Again thanks for watching!
@commanderkingfish9613 Well, I'm still trying to figure out things like how to know what the actual cargo limit is on a plane before accepting a job, for AI driven planes. There should be a way to first check whether a plane can fly the cargo. Also, wishing I could load passengers when having AI fly the plane back to base. I'm gonna let go of the Beech I guess. I'm waiting for 2 bases to be finished building. I have one A320 for myself to fly cargo/pax and I have one for 2 AI pilots to use for cargo. Then, I want to lease a 3rd Airbus and hire 2 more AI pilots and schedule it for flights between my 3 bases (or at least I THINK that's how it works, but is it?). Does that make any sense or am I not understanding the VA passenger thing?
@Level10Productions Sorry I can't speak to any of the pax or VA questions I haven't done any portion of that part of the game. As to the fuel and cargo limits I set my AI pilots planes at a certain limit. So as an example all of my Cirrus planes I have a cargo capacity of 1000 lbs. and onboard fuel of 252 lbs. This way I know what size of cargo job to accept. I adjust the capacities under the fleet tab for each plane. I do this when the plane is idle. I go to the Load/unload button (lower left) and in the pop-up window lower right there is an offload fuel button so I adjust it to a reasonable amount of fuel. The less fuel more cargo space. Although I am not sure but I think AH2 calculates the amount of fuel needed and doesn't change the amount of fuel on board the aircraft. Also an AI pilot will continue to haul the cargo until it is all delivered regardless of how many trips it takes. As an example I may take a cargo job for my Cirrus (1000 lbs. limit) for 1700 lbs. for a fee of $12,000 and it is 200 miles away with 1 day to complete the job. It will take two trips so in my mind I break it down that is $6,000 per trip. That makes it worth it to me to take the job. The other thing I like to look for is return jobs. In this example if the airport I am delivering to has a cargo run back to where the balance of the load is the AI pilot will haul the cargo back on the return so it maximizes the trips. I start the day with my cup of coffee in the morning and assign the various jobs out to my pilots and they fly all day. Another trick I will use on my larger aircraft is I might have two or three jobs going in a general direction. If you just assign those the pilot will fly back and forth for each job. What I do in this situation is I will load the three jobs my self before assigning the jobs. Once the cargo is loaded I will assign the jobs on how I want them delivered (ie closest to furthest) the pilot will deliver the jobs instead of flying back to the base each time. One other thing under the options tab there is a job creation tab adjust the different areas and see how AH2 generates the jobs. It will take a day or two for the jobs to reflect the change but that my help as well. I have most of mine set around middle and it seems to work well for my aircraft. Well this is turning into a long reply but hopefully it helps a little and congrats on opening bases and adding aircraft. The main thing is have fun.
