I am 38 years old and I lost my parents recently (late 2022, early 2024) and I haven't found the time to start all over again, but your content has made me think about it and now I see the light at the end of the tunnel. I was only taking therapy but is not enough to start changing. So much wisdom in your videos. Thanks for everything you share here.

It will come to u bro no worries. Same deal here with my parents I'm also 38. 2018 and 2020 they passed. Just always think to yourself what changes can I
make today, that never worked out in my life so far? We know goddamn well that time is ticking. It's why I quit my videogame addiction altogether and started
      eating more clean.

Hey dude, I'll be 38 in 2 months. This year my mum had a mild heart attack and survived... But it's one of those reminders that my parents are as fragile as anyone else. You and Robert (who replied below) are currently living a life I'm, well concerned about. Mum has influenced me significantly and I feel I am yet to show her and dad what I really have to share.
I really need to change my life for them. This isn't a reply to say 'yolo, change your life now' because, well you're living something I fear, that I really should be doing more right now and I can blame circumstances or laziness or mental block etc... But, it is also people like you that also remind me that even after they pass on, life goes on and I have to prepare for that too, that I have to also live my best life for me. I hope you live life the best for you. Even if my parents see me do well and pass on, I will still be here when they are gone and live with who I am. Time will still go on and more opportunities to better myself will come. And they will for everyone, including you.
You're dealing with something I don't want to deal with, but will eventually... Seeing that you're making progress about it is something that twitched something inside. Thank you. Do something with yourself. We're all fragile and if we have the chances to kick ass... Fuck, why don't we take it before shit goes down?!

First step to changing your life for the better is to improve yourself. Start reading some books. You should also develop a growth mindset and be willing to learn from your failures. I learned this from a book called 'Chase No More: The Path To Success And Wealth'. It's based on writer's life story, and he talks about every aspect of life. I think that every person who wants to build something in their life has to read this masterpiece.

Thank you so much, Ruri! This video really resonated with me. I’ve struggled with anxiety and depression for a long time, and staying consistent with goals and routines is a constant challenge for me.
I recently started a TH-cam channel back in September as a hobby to share my journey as a neurodivergent young Black man from Canada, diagnosed with autism at a young age. I talk about mental health and the things I’m passionate about, like reading, working out, music, movies, and shows.
Your hard work and dedication are incredibly inspiring, not just for me but for so many others trying to take small steps towards positive change.

It’s not easy starting over, especially on TH-cam in your 40s, when all you want is to be yourself and find your people because you’re tired of searching for them in real life.
It can feel vulnerable, and honestly, I haven’t found all the answers myself yet. But please don’t let that get to you, there’s nothing wrong with you and you’re not alone, even if it feels that way sometimes.
I just felt the need to say this, maybe as a reminder to myself too. Blessings to you 🤍

I work an office job, one I'm happy with though. But because of that, 8 hours of my day are spent sitting. So I brought in a 20lbs dumbell to do some exercises while I monitor my workstation. My co workers found it so peculiar that they now expect me to be using it throughout my shift everytime I show up. So since I couldn't hold myself accountable, my co workers now do. And slowly that's helped me hold myself accountable outside of work too.

That keystone habit idea is huge. I started working out a few months ago, and it helps get everything into place, even if I'm not like... Maximizing my gains or something. Just get in there, do cardio, use a few upper body machines, another day, a few lower body machines. Keep consistently going (at least 2-3+ times a week) and like she said, you will really believe that you can keep consistent habits in other areas of your life

I appreciate this video so much as someone who has been diagnosed with ADHD/Bipolar and has been feeling the exact same way in the past few years; after experiencing a sudden plummet, I have been stuck in the same pit (for some years now), I've been trying to get out of this pit slow and steady, which has definitely helped me with the 'rest & recover' part. But I was feeling frustrated at the very slow pace of my growth over the past 2 years.

The danger of "slow and steady" approach is that when I engage challenges/try to make new routines I keep often telling myself "Do this milestone-thing some other day in the future, not today, I'm not ready yet." That is why I have recently tried to break my limits daily and do some fast growth. It is very scary and uncomfortable at times but what I have noticed is that if I have this slow and steady approach all times then I can only keep doing things as I am now... and I don't really improve anymore. I want to be better now - not some other day in future.

Ruri, I think I have similar problems. In my case, my work routine crumbles when I feel overwhelmed. There is a certain threshold after which I give up everything and turn my life into constant movie/TH-cam/podcast consumption + only doing the most urgent tasks. This usually lasts for 2-3 weeks, and then I come back to doing important not urgent things. I'm an old man - I'm 50 - and I've accepted this about myself. It's just the way I operate in life. Acceptance is the key. Don't be too hard on yourself.

Ruri, you're Aries, which is a Cardinal sign, which is a sign known for starting things (rather than the grind of working through them), and Aries is also of the Fire element, so i think you're like lighting a fire, and then even if you were to try to keep it up, it'd, naturally, be very difficult, 'cause of all the energy that would be required in keeping a fire going. You want the excitement of initially starting things and then all-consuming them, like a fire, in a short amount of time.

I've been trying to set a Samhain/ Celtic new year goal every year & still create manageable related goals every new year's eve.
It's hit or miss, but i have 3 more months on my new year's goal (& have made some progress, but less than I'd hoped) and we'll see if i come up with a good samhain goal
Maybe it'll be a good keystone, like coming up with a weekly rest day every semester. Or taking notes on my workouts (like just the heaviest i lifted that day) or how many hours i slept.
I really want to visualize time better for myself. Like make or find a visual calendar, & track goals over different increments of time

Deep down. I counsel you to learn some offices. Skills, and abilities. Set aside language journey. It's enough for you for the moment. I just realised I focused on my vocal tract, and chords that I forgot that I also have hands, and a force I have been starting out off to use, and to learn offices will be a therapy for me, and any other don to earn some extra money with hard-work.

Finally someone honestly talks about alcohol when most just hypocritically say "it is bad, I don't drink". I love alcohol too, it is extremely hard not to pop up a bottle of amazing macération wine at dinner that we cook with my partner, or say no to a craft beer. I work in the industry and I have access to most high quality beverages which makes it very hard to give up. I will try that app as well as I know it affects the productivity

Dr. K actually covered some great points you mentioned. I got ADHD too and baby steps don't cut it. I need those 180° drastic changes with instant dopamine for results.

I am 32 years old, and since the age of 17, we separated from my father due to family differences, and we had very, very difficult circumstances, and I also had university, but I was involved in very difficult problems until the age of 24, and from that age onward, I tried to rebuild my life. I want to create and launch my own startup idea, and I would like to say that I used to not eat unhealthy fast food, and I still do, because I try to live a healthy life, even without harmful substances... Thank you for your good content.
