i always get jealous of how neat these guys' rigs are. i would love to even have the money to have one of those effects panels that controls all the rack effects/pedals and do presets...so awesome
Go on tour with Stevie Marriott and Humble Pie at 19 freakin' years old, and then proceed to make the best-selling live album of all time, and you too can make gear videos in your own private winery. Well done Mr. Frampton.
@KevinFL Growing up in the late Seventies, I can't remember him ever being very under rated back then. He was like a guitar god back then. Unfortunately, good music has been largely replaced with corporate produced crap. My favorite is "Lines on my Face" on Frampton Comes Alive. His playing in that song was so masterful. Great song. Great performer. Think I'll give it a listen right now:)
Coming to you from his winery LOL. Frampton is a great musician. Page, Clapton, Beck & just about every 60's British guitar player were his contemporaries. Humble Pie at 16, he was very much in demand. He's also a very keen equipment aficionado. He knows what the rig does & uses it. He got his original '57 Custom back a couple of years ago & is in love all over again.
Nice to see Gig-FX given some luv.. wonderful pedals. Small company but very nice people who are dedicated to producing high quality sounding and styled pro fx pedals.
GREAT LIVE SHOW MAYBE THE BEST!!! HE PLAYED WITHTHE DOOBIE BROTHERS AND THE CONCERT WAS HAPPY I WAS JUST LAUGHING THE WHOLE TIME!!! THE MUSIC WAS JUST SO POSITIVE
Peter Frampton is an original! Whether you like him or not, he sounds like himself. Who cares how much or how little gear he uses as long as it makes him happy. It's his expression and he knows what it's like to run "Raw" straight into an amp. That's what they did in the 60's. With a setup like this he gets a great sound because it's all loops and he only engages the effects he needs when he needs them, the rest are not being used. Great Guitarist!
@hkonmoen The setup is for stadium gigs. The gate wont sound nearly as abrupt with the natural reverb & delay which occurs in such a large space. I hate over complex rack setups, but you have to remember stadium gigs are a very different to a small club stage. So needs different gear setups.
Frampton has always been a wonderful player, though I must admit to preferring his style through the 70s and into the early 80s...before he got more 'rock-y' We didn't really hear his guitar in the Herd days, but in Humble Pie he was the melodically rich contrast to Steve Marriott's ripping riffing and the chunky grooves of the rhythm section. He had a great sound then, and his tone by the time of 'Frampton Comes Alive' was exquisite. As he has said, he's a gadget freak, but surely - like Jeff Beck - he could muster up his tone without the smorgasbord of effects. That said, he certainly uses them with discretion and one could never accuse him of abusing them. 'Lines of My Face' and his studio version of 'While My Guitar Gently Weeps' are two fine examples of his tremendous tone.
No more Leslie? I'm going to see him in a few days and will miss it. I guess he's using the Digitech Whammy for his signatue octave tone these days too. Oh well. Still can't wait for the show!!
You're welcome, it's great if it helped (though it wasn't really meant to be "advice", cause i don't know much about those things) i subscribed to BonnardsBluesBand's channel and looking forward to see more of Your music there :)
I read an article recently that Frampton was reunited with his FCAlive signiture LesPaul with the three pickups was found after it was thought lost forever. Framptons gear was in a plane crash and his prize #1 was thought to be lost in the wreck, it wasn't it was saved and all these years later it found its way back to the man. I understand Gibson will or has taken the guitar that has burn damage etc. and giving it to its master craftsman to bring it back to speck so to speak.
Notice that around 1:24, we can see the green tape that indicates the patches on the knobs of the marshall heads, but through the rest of the video, they removed the tape. Maybe they tried to conceal their settings so that guitarists could not duplicate his sound.
I saw Pete Fram` & Marriot, Humble Pie, 1971 at LSE in London, what a fantasic guitarist, then a few years ago, minus hair, supporting Deep Purple and STILL a fantastic guitarist but, i have to say, those flashes and camera angles, more gold records than me or whatever, it spoils a great interview...only my opinion mind.
i did, and also checked out Your Band - Sounds Great! You should put a pointer to Your bands channel on Yours And You could upload the songs You have on MySpace on TH-cam too Wish You Well
I just use a Crybaby Wah, Pale Horse Distortion, Boss Reverb, and a POG 2. Through a ZT Lunchbox stack. Guitars are a Epiphone Dot Deluxe and a Gibson SG.
No more Leslie? I'm going to see him in a few days and will miss it. I guess he's using the Digitech Whammy for his signatue octave tone these days too. Oh well. Still can't wait for the show!! ...And where's the Ampeg Jett?
Where did they shoot this video, in a winery? LOL Man, I grew up listening to Frampton. Not used to seeing him without all the hair he had in the 70's.LOL
@satanitometalpriest date cuenta que el video dice: private GEAR tour... si no lo querias ver explicando el equipo q tiene porq viste el video en primer lugar?
@LastOfSixMusic Think of it like spices for cooking. Just because you have 1001 spices doesnt mean you use them all with each dish. Would people really be happier if he had just one effect or would there still be something to not like?
I find it interesting that guitar world had to use a noise gate for the audio on this video instead of just having a boom operator, or have a room tone to mask the noise gate a bit better. Oh well, goes to show even if you're well know and have a high profile celebrity it don't mean the quality is going to automatically be there. You fail up in the business boys and girls!
@ClosThe6stringer I find it interesting that you and the other ppl that agree with you didn't notice that he is in a brewery, even a large room, creating overtones and echos so there's a great enormous reason that they use a noise gate. i know cuz im a sound recorder for peavey....
Peter has always had a great style of playing.
Monday: Have all my gear set up in a winery to produce a video.
Memo to Guitar Tech: Don't forget your rubber boots.
: )
Nice to see a famous guitarist actually present in his own gear tour vid :)
He may look older without the curly locks but I've seen him twice in the past 5 yrs or so and his playing is GREAT
i always get jealous of how neat these guys' rigs are. i would love to even have the money to have one of those effects panels that controls all the rack effects/pedals and do presets...so awesome
To all of you whining that he has an overkill rig: he loves it, has fun with it, and makes great music with it so shut up!
Wow that's an amazing setup, bet it sounds great !!

At 1:37 you can get a good look at the sticker with the settings marked, they are gone in a few shots, so look there if you need it.

does he live in a beer factory?
If I was Frampton I would live in a beer factory.
great gear tour!
Yes, Mr. Frampton. I do feel like you do...about your awesome gear.
Nice to see Gig-FX given some luv.. wonderful pedals. Small company but very nice people who are dedicated to producing high quality sounding and styled pro fx pedals.
Frampton Rocks! I've always enjoyed his tunes.
Thank you very much! I really appreciate your advice! i will try to do it
GREAT LIVE SHOW MAYBE THE BEST!!! HE PLAYED WITHTHE DOOBIE BROTHERS AND THE CONCERT WAS HAPPY I WAS JUST LAUGHING THE WHOLE TIME!!! THE MUSIC WAS JUST SO POSITIVE
2010 That was the same year he toured with my favorite band YES.
Very cool, a guitar rig that also dispenses beer, a must have.

hes such a nice guy and a 70s legend.
Incredible!!
The dude lives 8 minutes from me and you never see him. Hey Peter play some of the local bars in the area will ya?
Peter Frampton has always been a great guitarist and composer!!!
Peter is a KING.
Excellent editing of this video. It was expertly cut so that we never really get a full explanation of ANYTHING. Well done!
Pete always seems like a cool dude.
Straight from his Winery! He's playing better than ever.
hats off to any one that can keep up with all that stuff- me, I would need a road map- pete frys any old way you slice it

@hkonmoen

@photopicker I would say I'm dreaming on, he made it reality. Nothing but respect for a very talented man.
i saw mike stern playin a yamaha amp through a chorus and dist.pedal,...and that was it!!
You should have placed a Noise supressor on the audio
thats the kind of musician i like
haha are they in a brewery ? lol !thats friggin AWESOME!!!
Yeh Yeh Yeh but my set up has a cup holder!

The guy with the boots? The electronic guru who made this gear and OBVIOUSLY a brewer at that winery! Whoa...
Would be nice to have him demo a bit of this gear...
Gobsmacked & Flabbergasted! 🙃

when I see stuff like this I appreciate Andy McKee even more!! go simple.

HAHA!!! Thanks for the laugh bro! XD

insane gating one his voice at the start...
@beano1eye you hear the rig by watching any live video of him. the point of this video is to see what makes the sounds in the other videos you watch
What is that rotating thing on the back at 4:45? Is that a Leslie speaker?
Yeah its a leslie 147
I came here to see his TALK BOX pedal... Which I've never seen... Anyone knows which or what kind of talk box does he use??? Please and thanks!!!
I would like to have a rig like that, just a pedal board to access to the rack and that's it, some expression pedals too (:
Where was this filmed at? Looks like a cool brewery. Would like to visit it.
Very generous with his time.
i did,
and also checked out Your Band - Sounds Great!

anyway..great video!

Does any of this route through the kegs?
Maybe the brewery delivers him the ac power to use his gear.A house ac connection maybe failed ;).
N1 vid and very interesting,!
@cesaragudeloo its sitting on top of the marshall rack.
Nice wellies
@satanitometalpriest date cuenta que el video dice: private GEAR tour... si no lo querias ver explicando el equipo q tiene porq viste el video en primer lugar?
Can we have a tour of the wine then ?
@LastOfSixMusic Depends on the sound you want, Angus Young doesn't use any.
That is alot of gear..i have like 2 pedals and a marshall or a blackstar but I must say he gets a nice tone
This is the second this was uplaoded
The pedalboard is very simple, it just cots a couple of thousand dollars. Long live Peter ,one of thebest guitar players.
Hey Peter, I too enjoy a few liters of wine with my breakfast.
why does the tech have flood boots on is my main question, like they're surrounded by a swamp or something
Did anyone notice at 2:31 that he has a preset called black hole sun?
i Tear'd.
Notice he's smiling everytime you see him playing his guitar.
Does he have a studio within the Samuel Adams Brewery?
What happened to the sound on this video?
I am guessing his road rig stays in the basement/cellar for easy in/out access.
Why don't we get to hear Peter demonstrating his sounds? We're seeing him play. Why no audio at that time?
What about a little demonstration of Peter's sound?
@LastOfSixMusic Think of it like spices for cooking. Just because you have 1001 spices doesnt mean you use them all with each dish. Would people really be happier if he had just one effect or would there still be something to not like?
Oh, thats who he is...Thanks for telling me. That still doesn't explain the duck boots though... :)
private tear tour? Im gonna cry...
So how did all his gear wind up in a distillery? I am missing something here.
how do you do a frampton gear tour and not even mention the types of talkbox or usage in the system... crazy
@GtoGibsonBoy Very few players plug in and play... if you want options, you have to have a lot of gear.
why are they in a distillery? does anyone know if frampton owns that place?
