D2R - 2.4 Ladder Budget (no Grief) Zerker/Find Item Barb - Destroys Travincal!

- I have not been streaming much lately at all since I have been plagued with internet connection issues while streaming, but today I did make a new video on a shift I made with my Barbarian for the time being. I respeced to Berserk and I just wanted to showcase that the build can be very strong even without Grief. I tested it out later after this video in a 3 person game and it literally made no difference in difficulty so I imagine it can do players 5 or even 7 although how efficient it becomes I have not tested yet. If you need to, you can also farm DKeys with this build. Leap in and Howl everything away, Oath kills quickly.
If you get more runes, you can up that Duriel’s shell.
Remember when shout was the synergy for berserk? Yeah that made sense...
This is the exact build I was looking for. Anyone who thinks this isn't budget must be crazy. Anni and Barb torch are basically free right now and oath is pretty cheap as well.

I’ve updated my build to be a little less powerful by swapping Arreat’s for Shako, 39 mf war traveler instead of gore rider and chance guards for laying of hands so I could boost my mf and gold find. I’ve had some success and find the build kills just as easily as before with over 300 mf now. I may try making my first Grief ever pretty soon but the Oath with the ETH balrog blade is pretty strong and fast. Cheers!
Also swapped my Skullders for “Wealth” for the extra gold find.

Another good budget shield for melee is Gerke’ if you have CBF from something else.
I find using Berserk on the right click a bit easier. Holding the button makes the character "auto attack". It is a bit easier than trying to click on the target.
You noticed I was having a hard time clicking on them 😅 . It can be a bit annoying at times since they move around so quickly. I appreciate the tips and I will give it a try 😊.
Yeah I second this, much better solution. Also I REALLY love using the command
/nopickup. Only allows you to pick up items when the Alt button is pressed. So it prevents your character from picking up random items while horking and attacking. Makes everything so much more efficient and less annoying.
@@jukappa wow I did not know about this command. I’m definitely going to use that as it is quite annoying. My solution was to fill up my inventory so I can’t pick stuff up unless I put it in the cube 😆. Thank you for the feedback!

fun fact, berserk can't leech so going for a low LL arreat's is always the way to go imo, you get them so much cheaper

I just made one out of eth collosus sword. Omg. I dont know why I never made an Oath. I used it two handed zerking. It’s brutal. I dont really miss grief that bad and I dont even cast howl. 2-3 shots trav bosses and 1-2 shots minions, all in a few seconds.😂
Now I know what to do with my only Mal rune😅

Anni is basically free on ladder. I’ve gotten well over a dozen without any help. The torch cost me an Um rune. I’d say that’s pretty cheap all things considered. If you can head an entire character for under a high rune (vex and above is considered HR) then it’s definitely budget. It’s not MEGA budget but pretty cheap overall. That’s just my opinion though :)
Do you think ww barb horker is viable for mf ? I played d2 forever but just started d2 again but never played barb. Lvling a barb now or is it just zerk meta ?
Howdy, thanks for your question! I haven’t used WW personally in Diablo 2 resurrected but it was a big favorite of mine back in D2 in the old days. I asked a friend who uses his for Trav and Chaos. He says it works very well but he uses Grief and the broken weapon glitch. Other than that, there’s nothing special about his gear other than an Arreats helm. He said it’s important to make sure you have both life and mana leech, which makes sense otherwise you would be constantly running out of mana. I wouldn’t worry too much about what’s “meta” and go with what your preferred play style is. As long as it is “viable” then you’re good to go and it seems it definitely is. Personally, I’d love to see a future patch with a WW buff (no negative dmg % at low levels). This would incentive me to make a WW barb. My recommendation would be to put one point into Berzerk regardless just to deal with physical immunes.
Also, the throw barb works quite well although it definitely does require VERY specific weapons which I outlined in my throw barb video. It’s so much fun and that’s how I started the ladder with my Barb.

a nice 'budget' strat i used is ww barb using an upped ribcracker and whirlwind because i literally couldnt find anything else at the time and it worked great, you can leech because its phys dmg, and the crushing blow does the heavy lifting, punched a hole in it, added ias rune to hit the breakpoint
Zerk is a magic attack so it doesnt benefit from life leech
I have WW barb on hardcore with 300+mf on swap and 600gf . Im with 90% res (my lightning res is 95%) 9k armor 35% dmg reduction. The only expensive item i have is Grief. I am basically immortal.. and found Jah,ber,2xLo, 2xOhm in 2 days farming travincal… 2 eldrich orbs (bad rolls) eth tresher and more! Trav is a gold mine!!!
Wow, that sounds like an amazing set up you have on hardcode. How did you manage the 300 mf with all that resistance as well? I think for a barb if you don't have enigma Trav seems to be the way to go for MF.
@@casualgamingdad2424 the magic find comes from my x2 ali baba on secondary weap’s. Resistance’s are from torch+annie ( me and a friend of mine were farming ubers with mega budged gear) + i have guardian angel stormshield areat’s and more..
So i kill trav with main gear and than swap secondary to loot corpses with item find (69% chance) easy :)

Huh why shield berserk makes you have no defense?
I use the shield for cannot be frozen. Mf, gf and resists. Grief is in a phase blade one hander. I could use other weapons to boost dmg or an Ali baba for mf but I’d lose all the other benefits. Plus even though I have no defense I still have block chance with the dex I’ve invested for the phase blade. To each their own but that’s my reasoning. Cheers!

I talk about it in the video. Grief is way more expensive 😆. It’s Mal and Pul for Oath, and I made it myself. Balrog blade gets a max of 4 sockets so it’s the easiest to get for being ETH. Anni is quite easy to get lately since 2.4. The torch cost me an um rune so I’d say it’s pretty affordable for even a casual like me 🤷🏽♂️.
@@casualgamingdad2424 i was looking for a starter build that replaces my mf sorc on ladder reset. i just need a char for the fist week.
you can make a barb with white gear and make lc runs in a full player game and get expensive gear, after a couple of days of farming you can afford an enigma. but that does not mean its a cheap starter build because you can farm that stuff fast. i think you misunderstand the word "budget"
@@gradeyundery4939 I think everyone is open to interpretation but I do your point. Enigma in a couple of days though? It took me a lot longer than that to get mine. This build is made for people who want a strong build without having to spend a lot of wealth and it can do very well. For many casual gamers like myself, high runes are often out of reach but I felt all these items are attainable. Does that make sense? Sorry I couldn’t be of more help 😅.
@@casualgamingdad2424 i now made a lvl 84 barb with rather good gear to test the loot and dmg. as my "search items setup" i use 2x ali baba with 2x ist in each to get to 600+mf to get better results in what i can expect to drop instead of the wc spears. but still the drops are rather bad compared to a mf blizzard sorc that can go to mephisto with almost no gear. i get 66% chance of a drop with find item. also i use ik helmet (2x pt), boots, belt and gloves. these items are cheap and highly effective. am i doing something wrong or is this build just not effective? btw i run eldritch and pindle.
@@gradeyundery4939 that sounds like a pretty good set up. How many runs have you done? RNG is pretty massive in this game so you have to take multiple things into consideration when doing these types of runs - higher MF chance with find item vs. fast and efficient runs with sorc, for example. Both have pros and cons. Personally, I use my mf sorc for key runs, Amazon for cows, Paladin for Pindle and chaos, and barb for Trav, eldritch, and Shenk. I like the variety of play styles. This way I can do most types of runs with different characters and it makes the game more fun for me personally so it really depends on each individual player and what they prefer/enjoy doing. I’d say just do whatever your priorities are and what you enjoy most. If you find a character(s) and build that does both then you’ve got a winner. I hope this helps and best of luck 🤞.
