Ugh I remember doing that with Botd. Dad was trying to kick me off the PC so was rushing with the runes. Fucked up with the Zod -.- Back then Zod/Vex was worth 2x any other hr lol. Rip Botd Eth CB
My buddy, known under the name Tonepallu on USEast, used to make runs with his buddy Marty(frost sorc) and keep up with enigma on his merc, swapping it at boss fights. His setup was dual-wielding EBOTDs with a full Immortal King set(always tried to get the best stats around on his sets also) casting Frenzy. If I remember correctly he had some type of rare amulet and/or rings that'd give him more attack speed also. Needless to say those days were freaking epic!
I love how ever time I come back to d2 I always find something I didn't know. Compared to newer games this one is still mysterious and full of surprises. Nice vid, keep up the good work.

after 4 days of watching your videos and now scouring my house to look for my copy of d2 ive decided that im going to buy my second copy of diablo 2 and start playing again this is my favorite game its been years since ive played but because of you i am going to dive back in the town portal to the rogue encampment and start my journey. maybe we could meet up in game i dont want any items or rushs or "favors" but that would be cool to just chill in a game for a bit Thank you for the videos im glad i somehow found them because now im starting back up all because of seeing your videos. Keep up the good content man hopefully maybe run into you across the realms.
Enigma's utility eclipsed the other rw so much that it narrowed down the BiS to just one RW for most classes. It should have brought down to be in par with other rw imo.
my personal list for player - not mercenary (like obidience or insight): 1: grief - endgame 2: last wish - endgame 3: fortitude - endgame 4: sanctuary - in hyperion for amazon best block & look 5: duress - "midgame" fortitude :) 6: crescent moon - my favourite RW in the whole game - cheap and powerfull 7: exile 8: treachery 9: COH 10: spirit and the others... but i'm using those mostly, and as you see i prefer melee :)
Watching your videos and streams makes me want to start playing this awesome game again. It's my favorite game after all. I never really knew the combinations or which were the best runewords to use, i just played the game without them. Thanks for the video X.
I stopped playing back when SOJ’s we’re still the main currency and the chats were all about trading. Kinda miss it and might get back into it. Gonna need to learn these runewords though.
I'm not sure what I did wrong but I used larzuks open socket question to put 4 sockets in a pole arm. Then I made sure to put all the runes in the correct order but I'd didnt make insight.. any idea why it would do that?

Agree with the list, all good end game words. Playing SP Sorc and hoping for enough runes to combo Enigma-Sanc, take the points saved in strength to put into Dex for block so I'm not sacrificing Vit. Very expensive, I know. Immunities are a pain in Hell.

i tried to make insight 4 time with different weapons like bills,voulge,.. but none of them work. the weapon i received is israltirtalsol but it is not look like your weapon. i am farming for the infinity now but i afraid that this will happen again and the rune for infinity is so hard to find. so what kind of weapon should i use to make it.

I want to see content on patch 1.09b. Is there a chance that you will make videos testing builds at this patch? Builds before runewords were introduced to the game were vastly different I believe, I can't really recall what the game was like before that.
Question for you- do you remember what allowed some ethereal items to be indestructible when they otherwise shouldn't have been? My memory is hazy, but I believe that any eth item him that had a Zod rune in it in patch 1.08 was permanently indestructible even if the zod was removed once we hit 1.09. Obviously this was extremely rare(and I doubt any of these items still exist at this point), but it allowed you to have some eth runewords that were indestructible, which was quite valuable.
Thanks for making all these videos I've played these games most of my life and Im still bad because I just have bad luck with drops and never knew where to put my skill points or how runes worked
Unfortunately in your case it’s way harder to get a Lo in NM as you’ll be crafting for ages. There is a chance of a Lo from Hell countess but that relies on good RNG. Best advice to get you ready for hell is lots of Pit/Baal runs with some rune farming in Lower Kurast and countess to get some good rune words for either yourself and your Act 2 Merc. Also consider doing a respec to ensure that you have enough attributes to run gear for your build then dump a lot into health and your most used skills. My current Assassin is running 200+ in health at lvl 80 but resistances are a huge thing in Hell for yourself and enemies. Good luck.
Great Vid as always! I have a question off topic lil tho. So I have two CD keys and planning on making a barb and sorc for restart. How can I bug my sorc for bosses? For example if my barb is in act 5 hell and sorc is act 2 hell. My barb makes the game but I cant go to act 3 without getting the quest done with my sorc and if I do the quest then it wont be bugg. I know the trick for act 1 is talk to the guy who tells u to go to east and its bugg right? what about the other acts? Thank you again for all the vid and great info. Love the channel

Some of them are for ladder and can not be made on none-ladder unless they reseted the ladder. I tried to make Fortitude couple of time on none-ladder but failed everytime. Be ware about it.
great list, cant think of any runeword that deserved to be in there and was forgotten, i was gonna say that you should mention things like delirium or doom, but that's probably just my taste as a druid player, they are not really good RWs afterall.

I like runewords but my best experience playing was first times completing hell in single player without runewords.

Does the rune words only work on specific gear? Want to run tesladin when resurrected comes out but i want to use full plate armour

Fortitude is actually quite commonly used as weapons for cow level farming necros and BH pals because of the insane defence.

Quite ok mix of cheap and expensive RWs. My big time favourites after every ladder reset were Rhyme and Lore.
