    This light didn't test as well as the 50w version in terms of efficiency, Still put up respectable numbers. Durability and longevity are the only questions here!

    i also ordered two, to kind of help with the blind spot around my trolling motor. haven't lit them up yet, but the compact size of these lights should not go unnoticed. thanks for keeping us up to date gary!

    What light would you recommend for a budget and led to run off of a battery system? Looking to try to eliminate the noisy generator but don’t have the money for a high dollar quiet Honda. So led and batteries appear to be my best option. Also led or halogen for both clear and mercy water? Would love to see a video on the comparison between the two. Never used led but heard they are horrible compared to halogen in mercy water. I’ve only ever used halogen. Thanks

    Gary, I think you mentioned in the video for the 50 watters, that you knew someone that had the 150s. Any chance you will get to test one of those as well.

    I've got a question right quick...
    How could the 140w seelite compare to a 500w halogen as far as on the water? I'm about to pull the trigger on some good leds but not sure how many is necessary and if having too many could really be a thing. In other words we've put other lights with our halogens and you can't tell if the other lights are even on or not unless they're spaced out. If you had a 1648 boat how many of the 140w seelites would you put on it?

    • @GaryBriggs3
      @GaryBriggs3  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Groves Halo's are indeed bright but they are terrible in terms of efficiency. Watt for watt you'll get 3 times as much light on the water using a Seelite led vs a Halo. In other words, you'll get the same amount of light for 1/3 the power from the generator.
      In terms of power, the Halo is the worst possible option.
      The Seelite is arguably the best Bowfishing light made today.

      Can you get to a point though to where too much is too many?

    • @GaryBriggs3
      @GaryBriggs3  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Groves I think at some point more light doesn't do any good. For a 1648 with a small platform I'd have 8 lights. The two front corners at 45*, the 2 front lights straight ahead. The sides I'd have on light square to the boat and the back light pointed slightly backwards maybe 10* or so.
      This is how we set up our 150w HPS. I have a video showing how we aimed them for maximum efficiency. I think it's "let's build a Bowfishing boat number 3"

    • @GaryBriggs3
      @GaryBriggs3  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Groves getting your lights as high off the water and aiming them down is more effective than adding more lights in my opinion.

      That answered my question! I didn't wanna have say 10 if 6 would do the job. I've tried several cheap halogen and led lights and some of the ones you couldn't even tell was on or not. Say if they're mounted 3ft apart, and I added one in the middle of those two existing lights if you couldn't tell it was there because the other two were so bright I don't wanna spend that extra money on them. I appreciate it!

    I cannot decide if i want the 100w or the 50w, would you suggest that i should pay more to get the bigger lights?

    • @GaryBriggs3
      @GaryBriggs3  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Lots of factors to consider. If you have a smaller platform where room might be a concern then the 100s are a better option. Also 1/2 the wiring needs to be done with the 100s

    Review the ustellar 60w led on Amazon

    • @GaryBriggs3
      @GaryBriggs3  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jordan Blaine I have already purchased them, weather has been nasty and haven't had time to do a video. It tested about the same as the Ledmo, if I recall it was around 600 lux and 10lux per watt.

    What do you recommend for a 100w LED that's 12V? Mine is set up that way but all I'm really finding is 110v

    Take it apart, let's see how water tight it is and if silicone will correct it.

      Tim Jones it definitely would if there was a problem. Watch the 50w video and you can see where I pop the lense off.

    Just added 6 more 100 w viugreums to my boat any they run hot but I’m getting 3x the light then I was getting from cheaper 50w leds , anyone know what temp they should be running?

    • @perrytwinsoutdoor
      @perrytwinsoutdoor 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not overheating just a lot hotter then the cheaper lights I took off

    • @GaryBriggs3
      @GaryBriggs3  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How hot is hot? The premium lights run around 100, like hot coffee hot. The cheaper lights run substantially hotter, they have undersized heat sync. However, I had a 12$ cheap light run 180 degrees for a week straight and it seemed to be just fine.
      I wouldn't stress about it.

    How big was the wires. I ordered 5 lights but I think I may have gotten the wrong ones wires are very tiny

    • @GaryBriggs3
      @GaryBriggs3  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They dont need to be very big, the lights only draw around 1.2 amps a piece.
      I use 10ga wire from the generator to power 1000 watts worth of lights.

      Dalton they make several different version now. Wire a plug on the end and fire it up to see how bright it is. I'm guessing you bought that on Ebay? Lots of guys running those as well.
