    I just received a 50 watt and 100 watt to see which would I’d like better
    I’ve watched about all of Dustin’s videos and decided to go with these after his explanations
    I think I’m going with the 100 watt after he said he runs 1400 watts with a 2000 watt generator on a different video
    I’ve watched a bunch of videos on different lights
    His explanations are easy for me to understand with what I want to do
    I currently have 8 Archenemy 50 watt lights
    It’s what my boat came with
    Too many amps for how I want to run
    Thanks Dustin

    I've had a Vieugram 8 pack of 200 watters in my watch list for some time. Saturday night I looked at them a bbn d saw they were reduced 69% to 120 bucks. I bought 2 sets. They may have a over heating issue but I'm gunna give it a try. I only need 1 set but cheap enough to have spares. $15/ for the 200 watterz!

    You could also run them off a inverter connected to the batteries would work

    • @DustinApple
      @DustinApple  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Technically yes. But if you attempt that I would not recommend over 500w of lights. Most guys running DC lights are on boats that have alternators. When you get into "battery only" power you will quickly have more battery weight than what a small inverter genny weighs and far less run time. And honestly the amount of noise is very minimal when you look at your ability to run 3x the amount of watts with the only thing that would stop you is being out of gas.

    • @DustinApple
      @DustinApple  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      500w ÷12v =42amps
      That's equivalent to running a 55 lb trolling Motor in the weeds at full power. It will drain a average battery in about 90min.

    How do these lights stack up 2 years later? Are you still running them or would you recommend something different today? I’m fixing to build my first bow fishing rig and would love to save some money on lights if you have any recommendations

  • @jeremyshafer1857

    These lights are great, BUT if you're running a clapped out PowerMate generator that doesn't like to keep voltage consistent like I am.. Your lights will "flicker" when the voltage output drops.. which usually only happens if I need to clean my carb... The Harbor Freight inverter genny is my next purchase...

    • @DustinApple
      @DustinApple  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Inverter gennys make clean digital power, you'll be very happy with one. At 1600w mines under a pretty good load and will get about 7hrs run time on a tank of fuel.

    Are these wired in directly to the battery, or did you wire them to be plugged into a generator? I ordered these lights, but I can’t get them to work with the battery. I’m a complete neophyte when it comes to all things electric but it seems like these don’t work with a 12 V deep cycle battery.

    Please help NEW guy here!! Bout to get my bowfishing setup up and running!! If I can figure out how and where to start 😂. I will have 14 lights total. 4/100w and 10/50w. I have my inverter generator it’s a 2400starting watts and 1800running watts my question and confusion comes with the wiring and plugs 😳😳😳. I seen you used a 12/3 landscape wire in a previous video so I have that but should I run these lights off two cords port and stbd strains with one side connected to the bow or would they be ok to run on one continuous strain?? I do have a 20amp plug and a 30amp twist lock plug on the inverter generator. Please help anything you send my way that won’t get myself or my little ones electrocuted is HIGHLY and GREATLY APPRECIATED!! Thank you

      It's only 900w & 8.2Amps it's fine on 1 plug. That's less power than your toaster requires.

      Sorry 4 late reply. I bought them off Amazon FROM the viegreum store. Beware of copy cats. 200 watt lights used to be one light, it appears they have changed their designs and a 200 watt light now consists of 2-100 watt lights. I purchased a 100watt one here not too long ago and honestly, it's more than enough. Warm white with an amber tint placed on on it, perfect.

    I have a 20’ Jon boat and a eu3000 Honda generator. How many of these lights would you recommend for me to get? And when I go to order the lights it asks for color temperature what does that mean?

    • @jacobsimmons2388
      @jacobsimmons2388 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Color depends on water clarity in bama we run 3k-3500k because the water is chocolate milk, granted we used regular light bars when we started but can definitely tell a difference in light color to how deep you can see in nasty water

  • @joehenry447

    Would the cool white work or do I need the warm white lights? What’s the difference?

    • @DustinApple
      @DustinApple  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Kelvin is the temperature measurement of the color of light. Red is 2000, candle light is 3000, bright white is 5000, blue white is 6500, 8000 is purple. The best Kelvin for bowfishing depends on the type of water you frequent. Hps is 2200, "extra warm" is 2800, warm is 3-3500 & "cool" could be 5-6500k. In gin clear water "extra warm" lights will actually reduce the travel of light by staining it with color. But in muddy water the warmer the better. Muddy water will reflect light off of the dirt particles in it, but the same particles will absorb extra warm color resulting in the best light penetration.
