What I loved about Anderson was even when he wasn’t getting points he was still trying to drive the play and hitting everything out there

Just an insane trade that is still benefiting the Flyers almost 25 years later.

But I couldn’t help noticing that you left out a small tidbit about Galchenyuk and the Leafs, 2021 playoffs, first round game 5, does it ring a bell? Too soon? Well, it reminds me of a saying Hab fans used to say about Chucky, he givith and he taketh away! He was great all playoffs, then laid a huge egg with that no look backhand pass, gets cut off by Cole Caufield who goes on a 2-0 with Suzuki who scores to win the game. Ouch!

He's already a part of a different tree, the Evander Kane one, specifically. Also, because the trades happened relatively recently (as in this happened in 2019), there isn't much to go digging into for now. Maybe it'll be revisited later on, but I would guess that it's unlikely that we see a trade tree involving Hayes as the primary focus for at least a few more years

  • @djwesq

I can try to figure it out myself, but what would have added context since this was a forward for forward trade, is how many points Montreal received, to date, from the players it got for Galchenyak, and how many points Montreal received, to date, from the players it got for Domi, so we can at least compare apples to apples at this point.

If you’re referring to galchenyuk, than his part in this particular trade tree was severed when he signed with Ottawa, you have to be traded to be apart of a particular trade tree. So the galchenyuk trade from Ottawa to Carolina to Toronto is it’s own separate trade tree.

Well, Kessel left in free agency, but Anderson is the most likely next habs player to be traded according to rumours

    Hi Steve,
As a UK Leafs hockey fan and a Steve Dangle podcast fan, I would like to see trade trees that stink for other franchises. I mean surely, surely, the Leafs don’t monopolise trade that stink!! Right?!? So, it would be refreshing if trades that stink for OTHER teams were done also. You know, for inclusive reasons. I rely on you for my Leafs and hockey news so thank you Steve for your services 👍👍👍
