a tube on a ewg hook with a chunk of packing foam stuffed in it carolina rigged can get it deep, but the tube stays up just above the bottom. Can work great on tough late summer bass that have been heavily pressured all summer.
You can use a foam ear plug also

Good info. Michigan resident here, so yep up to 1 oz tube heads are available. Not uncommon for multi species Anglers to use heavy tube lead for Lake Trout, Walleye and obviously Smallies. Pretty neat to hear about it for Largemouth and Spots in Southern Reservoirs. Good tip, appreciate the video, keep up the great work.

I’ve got a tube secret too , anytime I have fish up extremely shallow , fish it weightless Texas rig it’s something the fish never see and they inhale it!

Very interesting technique procedure...This is definitely a technique I will employ down here in Australia on our bass...That brown pumpkin colour would lend itself well to the craw retrieve you employ...I finally have found a technique to my knowledge that is not being utilised on the Australian bass circuit so I thank you Randy for the heads up mate...have a great day...

Similar to how i fish tubes on rocky bluffs. Long cast let it fall as soon as it hits the bottom i rip it like a spoon and let it fall again
Started fishing Gitzits in early 80s and never stopped using them...lots of productive ways to fish them !!!

If they dont bite on drag another way I like to fish a tube is like a flutter spoon. Snap it hard off bottom and it spirals down on fall. Reel in slack and repeat. Amazing how many times you reel down and go to snap up and they have it

We did a pretty good job slaying the smallies in SD this past week dragging tubes on the bottom texas rigged with heavy weight. We were having no luck beating the banks from about 30 yards out. When we figured out that they were a little deeper in 8-10 feet and moved out to about 50 yds the magic started happening. We were literally running the boat right over the top of them for a couple of days. I've only started fishing tubes the last couple of years and they have become a staple bait in my tackle box. Very versatile like the old school fluke to me now fishing all kinds of structure and water depths. You can catch any fish you want on a fluke or a tube anywhere and anyway you want to fish them.

He puts a drop shot in the tube and then runs his hook through the wire and texas rigs it .. he calls it the all-terrain bass tube... I love the glide it gives on the fall .. I've also been borrowing from the rig to punch bio craws and other soft craw baits to punch down in pads and grass the craw is always looking up in a claws up posture... take a look if you get a minute no telling what you could rig up to catch them ol big lips... have a good weekend

My best day of fishing was on Stockton Lake, fishing deep clear water. 4" blue flake tube. I caught so many smallies. Rigged pretty much how you show.

Learned to fish the “GITZIT” when fishing New York waters, from the old boys I fished with back in the early 80’s
Still a major part of my arsenal on every trip. Bobby Garlands products were the best, and when he sold, I followed the new owners and they made them especially to my specifications.. An all round fish catching machine… Gary Yamamoto also made them for a while, and the ones I have left are kept safe, as they are so salty that when roughing them, the salt pours out!😂

How about a video on how to dry out my boat and treat mold. In the carpet etc. I store it inside but it's been raining for a month and with so much humidity it won't dry out.

I throw my tubes on my 7' spinning rod with a 1/4 once tube jig head and a awesome tube I love it darts around like crazy. Still haven't cought anything on a tube but I hooked a GIANT smallmouth on a 3/16 spinnerbait the other day and lost it when trying to bank flip it on 10 pound line like an idiot! And I have the mix of all three in my local highland lake plus trout but I don't have the visibility?
How about a tube presentation for shallow water flipping and pitching? I usually run a Texas rig with my tubes but weight or no weight? Something weedless besides a Texas rig? Any shallow water mods? I just started fishing tubes and really want to learn to catch fish with them. I dont do much off shore fishing. Im a shallow water power fisherman. What is your take on tubes for that?
Texas rigged pegged for flipping. Extra wide gap hook but cut a slit on the backside so the hook penetrates better. Bill Lowen has a good video on it.
@@maxescamilla4597 Thanks Max! Thats how I have been fishing it but the slit on the back side is a great tip! You have a rocommendation for hiw much weight to use? With no weight it falls super super slow. With 1/8 oz it falls moderate which I kinda like but Im not sure because Ive never caught anything on a tube. Thanks for the help!
@@papaduck2443 for wood and rock I use a 3/8 ounce tungsten flipping weight. If there's a lot of grass you might have to go a little heavier.

I have 4 out of 5 rods all rigged up for tomorrow and I think the tube will be the final rod. Been fishing my whole life but when I moved to a new state the learning curve came back. Are you going to do a Watts Bar summer lake breakdown I know it is off topic but I know no other place to ask.
Bass Pro tender tubes are 3 1/2 inches so you don’t have to cut them a half inch to get the hook to fit correctly. Starting with a cut in your tube shortens their life significantly
Just put in a 100 dolla gitzit order last month. Their stuff is killer!
