Runoff area is huge TBF, takes a long time to reach the barrier so probably not needed Saying that it used to be a huge gravel trap causing rolls didn't it? Probably because of that
That was a hard hit for that single-seater!! I didn't expect him to get out so easily! Yeah, there used to be a big gravel trap for if you went off early in the corner. Genuinely think they need another row or 2 of tyres - As opposed to single row of truck tyres before an earth bank!
@@MotorsportMeister I saw a Caterham go almost straight on at the the Esses (following the back straight) after - contact with another car - that was a horrible accident. The chassis folded quite badly but I think the driver was ~ok(?!)
Mallory hits are so hard, I always wonder why there is no gravel bed before the tyre wall.

@@MrSpanks Yeah, I don't even want to think about what would happen if someone were to have a stuck throttle or similar.

The locosts were disappointing in the first race, didn’t see the second as I wanted to watch the last btcc race though.
Were there many people at the event? It looked really empty spectator wise
@@mrblackrock555 there were more than I expected. There’s never a massive amount of people coming to Mallory. Biggest event is probably plum pudding
