Thank you for posting this, you saved me making a big mistake. Most reviews on YT do not show this failure point and how bad the unit is to actually use in real life.
The issue that I have with many TH-cam reviewers is that they only discuss the good points and omit the bad (unless it's very minor), which this is not. You also missed a bullet if you look at my follow-up video: th-cam.com/video/nrII8CZbtvE/w-d-xo.html. Zeapon have agreed to send me some new parts, but at a shipping cost of US$40 (AU$56) claiming they have no control over prices. If they choose to use DHL and not China Post for a tiny package that weighs next to nothing, then yes, it will cost. Australia has the highest overseas postal costs of just about any country, yet I could send the same package to China for ~US$9 (AU$13). I have bought tons of gear from China and no one charges these high rates. I don't have a problem with wear and tear, but having no local parts availability at a reasonable cost is unforgivable.
Thanks for the video! Have you found the experience has improved at all? I just picked up the set. I’m getting a bad feeling from toying with the pan motor, as well as an already poor customer service experience. The hardware looks and feels incredible so it has me scratching my head a bit.
I discovered that after the video, but initially it didn't work. A lot of the time the buttons just seemed to freeze. I'm in the process of doing the practical evaluation and things are a lot more positive, but the app reveals another issue that probably hadn't been considered.
@@ZEAPONTech I'll let you know in next Friday's video. It makes much more sense to see the problem in a real world situation, it puts things into context (but it has to do with working outdoors).
Hi , I have same set up just my slider is Micro E800. You forget to mention that regardless of speed that you set up in app slider and pan head are moving always the same constant speed at least in my Android app.). There is no 10% or 33% .So after endless numbers of try's I ditched the app and control pan head with left hand finger and rail with right hand and one finger and this is the ONLY way that you can get any meaningful control of this devices.Maybe if DJI buys this silly company one day we will be able to use mobile phone app.
I did note that, but probably didn't make it clear. It's the reason why I made this video, as the old app allows speed variation between points when using the slider, but the new one doesn't, with both the slider and panning motor. The old app needs to be revised adding in the pan/tilt motor capability as originally intended.
Agreed 100%, pretty much timelapsecentric app, and videography left by the wayside.. Thats a great idea having small slider under Micro 2, does it help from unbalancing? btw, I ordered the small wheel 4 pack ($49 AU + delivery fee) that are part of E800 motorized slider, they can be retrofitted on my original legs on Micro 2, as an extra dolly usage.
I'm very unhappy with the new app and I feel that this needs to be conveyed to Zeapon by everyone. The support under the Micro 2 is actually something I jury rigged from spare parts, but using a cheap slider instead isn't a bad idea, especially for someone who doesn't have the tools or inclination to DIY. Yes, the support work very well and allows me to comfortably use my heaviest rig without any concerns about it tipping over.
