    I like most of these except for the Stevia one... I am not diabetic but I've switched from sugar to Stevia for like a month and it was making me have hypoglyaemic episodes especially at work (I'm a nurse)... I didn't have much time to eat and when I did, I was only confusing my brain that I am giving it the sugar that it needs when in fact, I was giving it "fake sugar" so within 2-3 hours I'd start shaking, sweating, losing focus, getting blurry vision, feeling nauseous and I was easily getting annoyed! Then I was feeling like I was gonna drop on the floor any second unless I sat down. When I was checking my blood sugar levels they were CRITICALLY low, normally I'd give my patients IV Dextrose or IM/SC Glucagon (UK policies) in such circumstances but I couldn't do it to me since I was on duty... Ever since then I've binned the Stevia and I have not had any more hypo episodes whatsoever. It did not work for me. I will never ever try substituting sugar for other sweeteners and if I have to, then I'll just use honey or maple syrup which also contain sugar but they are slightly better than refined sugar. :)

      Did you eat any sugar containing fruit? Because using refined sugar only causes spikes in your blood sugar instead of helping it stay steady.

      Xylitol’s really good if you don’t like stevia 😀

      I’ve been using stevia and truvia for a while and this has never happened to me. But if you haven’t eaten already that means your blood sugar was already low. You can’t try to drive it up with a zero calorie sweetener. Should have just ate a fruit or a quick snack from the vending machine. I use stevia for most things but obviously you can’t use it for everything all the time sometimes you will want to swap it with white sugar, honey, or maple syrup and that’s okay.

      Brown sugar or jaggery powder...coconut sugar are other options..but jaggery powdeer most nutrient rich.

    Thank you for this video. I have always enjoyed dessert. I have recently I gave up processed carbohydrates and white sugar and I have lost 11 pounds. I was a sugar-alholic and very addicted to it. This video opens a few doors for me to still enjoy my desserts. My only problem is stevia, isn’t still an “artificial” sugar? It simulates sugar in your body and confuses it. So, you still crave sugar. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. I use honey, maple syrup or different types of fruits or basically no sweetener.

    Is there another swap for stevia? Most of the time it can have an after taste.
    Most often I use Splenda, but I’m not sure it’s that good for you.
    Thanks for sharing this video! 💚💛🧡💙

      Stevia is starting to make different kinds of sugars and are getting better with not having an after taste. Have you tried coconut sugar? It's still sugar but better than white sugar in comparison

    Hi Joanna,
    I have been trying to follow your videos and it it very difficult for me. I have been successful only with the low impact heavy weight (over 100kgs) workout, I'm 75kgs by the way but I cannot do any other workout. Please help in letting me know if I can still burn calories by doing the same low impact workout twice (total 40 mins ) ? I just cannot do a single push up no matter how hard I try.... Please suggest what to do. And how many calories does the low impact workout 20 mins burn?

    Won't using applesauce and mashed bananas instead of oil and butter massively affect the flavour of the dishes?

    • @NiijiSunGoddess
      @NiijiSunGoddess 6 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      BlackFiresong Absolutely! Its a bad idea unless you want fruit flavored everything. 😂 To each their own.

    • @NiijiSunGoddess
      @NiijiSunGoddess 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Also, the consistency you would be looking for in some dishes just wouldn't work using that alternative. Bread alone just wouldn't be the same. 😂

    • @thebardisashieldmaiden1754
      @thebardisashieldmaiden1754 6 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      BlackFiresong depends on the dish. I make quick bread with applesauce and it works well.

    Actually for a diabetic using healthy vegetable oil is much better than applesauce. Healthy fats have a better glycemic profile. The brain is mostly made of fat that is why it's so important to eat healthy fats.

    • @YokoKurama
      @YokoKurama 6 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Hi there. I am not sure what you are eating, but please keep in mind that it is possible that you could be gaining muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat so never let the numbers on a scale dictate your progress or how you feel. The best way to indicate if what you are doing is working is to use a tape measure and measure around your body to get a more accurate result. Never give up. Change takes time and persistence.

    • @YokoKurama
      @YokoKurama 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Sometimes that will happen. It does not mean you are not making progress. A person weighing 180lbs can lose 8 lbs of fat, but still be 180lbs because they turned their fat into muscle. Don't be so hard on yourself. Keep going!

    • @RosesareRed38
      @RosesareRed38 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      You might have gained muscle and water weight. Calm down and take measurements instead. How much weight do you need to lose anyway?
