Tip on the yogurt swap: Use nonfat plain Greek yogurt and if you're replacing mayo, add a little bit of salt to it. It honestly doesn't taste much different. I use it for tuna salad, egg salad, and I just bought a packet of ranch dressing seasoning so I can make my own ranch dressing with it!

lovely video ! Helpful and straight to the point. doing something similar, slowly over two years, i managed to thread my morning breakfast from croissants and cookies to fruits and whole wheat bread. Also my dinner when from processed ready to eat meals (THE WORST!) to chopped up vegetables and lean proteines. You have to go it gradually or else, you won't be able to sustain it. My tips : start ADDING foods in your diet (to get used to them) before cutting out things you like, then start swapping them up while still having there and there your favourite "bad" foods, then finally, cut them out.

michelle brooke I know i'm 4 months late but stevia is not artificial! I think what you are thinking about is sweeteners such as aspartam and other ones.. but aspartam is what you find mostly in sodas etc.. just for your info :3 otherwise I agree on maple syrup.
Nimou you're totally right, stevia is the best sweetener there to use. It's still very sweet so your body expects calories and we tend to have sweet cravings if we consume to much of diet products (even with stevia) so like with everything moderation is advised

the trouble with food swaps is that people who need to lose weight are often people who love food, and people who love food are tuned into how it tastes and aren't going to accept that a substitute is as good as it's full fat counterpart
In this case it's about reducing portion sizes. I can't handle those fat-free, low calorie foods, so instead of eating the entire packet of something, I now just have a serving size and it's way more satisfying. All in moderation!
Also chicken and turkey is a great alternative to red meat because I heard you should'nt eat too much fish cause of the mercury and stuff, but I think that both are great alternatives.

I buy these pop crisps at sobeys. I put guacamole on them, slice of cheese, almond butter. They only have 4 carbs per crisp and no sugar. Great substitute for chips or bread. Love your videos!

There are actually stevia based natural sodas out there these days. In India we have a brand that doesn't add harmful colours a d has vitamin C and beneficial herbs to boot!

Stevia definitely makes a great swap out for other sugar an/or substitutes! Just be sure to look out for 100% pure organic varieties. Truvia doesn't cut it!

I have tried almond milk. maybe it's the fact that it is not much in demand and as easily available here, but to me it didn't taste good and I can't replace dairy milk with it. I am going to try soy milk which is bit more available in comparison and see if I can make the switch. I do keep my milk intake in check though to keep my daily calorie limit. I also use dried fruits for getting goodness of berries because we have no fresh produce of berries available in any season except strawberries, which too are available for short duration in winter.

Due to poor food shopping on my mothers part, I never really ate much veggies growing up. However, now that I am on my own, I make sure to eat a good 5 servings. This has been awful to my stomach and my digestion has been really funky. Am I eating too many veggies? Is my body rejecting them? I dont know. One thing I like to swap is meat burgers for veggie burgers. Less calories, and cruelty free.

I buy these pop crisps at sobeys. I put guacamole on them, slice of cheese, almond butter. They only have 4 carbs per crisp and no sugar. Great substitute for chips or bread. Love your videos!
I'm so glad that the replacement for red meat was fish and not chicken. I once gained 4kg in only one week when I ate chicken (and my skin died. As if I've put the oily chicken right onto my skin)

There are actually stevia based natural sodas out there these days. In India we have a brand that doesn't add harmful colours a d has vitamin C and beneficial herbs to boot!

She does have a video about how she cured her acne, but I haven't watched it. Search 'acne' on her channel and it should come up. Maybe she has some info there for healthy skin overall. :-)
I add a couple tbs of fresh squeezed oj to my sparkling water and it made it easier to give up soda.

or switch soda for kombucha!!! There are so many different flavors, varieties and levels of sugar. Plus helps with digestion in a way that sparkling water does not. Or drink apple cider vinegar diluted in water with honey added :-)

Stevia definitely makes a great swap out for other sugar an/or substitutes! Just be sure to look out for 100% pure organic varieties. Truvia doesn't cut it!

I have tried almond milk. maybe it's the fact that it is not much in demand and as easily available here, but to me it didn't taste good and I can't replace dairy milk with it. I am going to try soy milk which is bit more available in comparison and see if I can make the switch. I do keep my milk intake in check though to keep my daily calorie limit. I also use dried fruits for getting goodness of berries because we have no fresh produce of berries available in any season except strawberries, which too are available for short duration in winter.
Schneider W If you find alpro "new taste" soymilk it taste like milk has that fatty flavour but I love almond& coconut milk simply because they don't taste like milk and they taste so good
Due to poor food shopping on my mothers part, I never really ate much veggies growing up. However, now that I am on my own, I make sure to eat a good 5 servings. This has been awful to my stomach and my digestion has been really funky. Am I eating too many veggies? Is my body rejecting them? I dont know. One thing I like to swap is meat burgers for veggie burgers. Less calories, and cruelty free.
ashley cady Maybe your digestion just is not used to eating veggies give it time and you should adapt. Props to you for eating healthy despite the food you where brought up on.
ashley cady when I first became vegetarian my digestion was weird too, that’s because you increase your fiber intake. You will get used to it, I fill way better now that I quit meat.
