Actually you can just lock the perspective in the settings or controls to the video so you don't have to reframe every few seconds 🤷🏻♂️ it's what I do for my 360 skating POVs
I just got mine delivered this morning and have only played around with it in my backyard. You mentioned having to do a lot of post-processing when going through 360 footage. Not to parrot Insta360's overuse of "AI" but I will say the tracking features in the app are pretty impressive and were much smoother than I could get with manually adding keyframes. I noticed you didn't mention the app too much though and might be trying to avoid relying on it, so I get it.
@@simpleclipz that's an apple and pears comparison, they're both great cameras but different use cases. I've had a gopro that I helmet mount for MTB and moto stuff, if I wanted a newer and better camera for the same use case I'd do the ace pro. But I absolutely hate framing and never bring that camera out on anything except rides where it just lives in a mount. Idk if it's the novelty but I'm more encouraged to bring out the insta360 since I just press record and go about the day not worrying about pointing and framing it. I'm not distracted and messing around with a camera the whole time. Personally I'm okay with a drop in video quality, I'm only capturing memories for me and my family, not producing content, so I'm happy with this vs the ace pro.
Hi Nick! Great video! i had a question on the insta360x4. did you have issues exporting videos on the app, saying your device didnt have enough space, when it did? or playing videos back in memode on the app? my just play back all black
How big are the biggest files you got from the X4? i would like to run it with a powered selfiestick for up to 4 hours roadtrip with the gps data in 1 file instead of many 30min, like on my X3. Tnx.
I'd be interested in what sort of real resolution you reckon u get in me mode. As you point out, once you crop an 8k 360 video into 170x120 degree action camera type field of view your not getting anything like 4k, more like 2k. If the fov in me mode is much the same that's got to be 2k too surely, even if it's telling you it's 4k.
Im happy to find your review. Most of the reviews I've seen so far are super negative , or super positive to unfair degrees. Your perspective balances out the information I've seen so far . Thank You !
Don’t listen to anyone who moto vlogs with single lens mode. You literally never know where the real action will be when you’re riding around. You will miss so much good stuff recording in single lens mode.
Good review, the DJI Mic2 even though it's bluetooth, it works perfect and the sound quality is excellent, surprisingly for BT. With the DJI Mic 2, I find that if I want the best audio, I just record on the mic 2 internally and sync post. I'm not a big fan of having things sticking out of my camera like adapters and such, I'm a fumbling idiot and with my luck, it will likely get damaged. The nice thing about the Mic 2 is that you can use it within a dive housing which I always have on not only while diving but just on the beach, salt water is the devil! lol
I saw Best Buy is finally getting premium lens soon.... I shoot with protectors on cause im overly cautious lol so hopefully the upgrade will help quality.
I wanted to vomit when you showed the 360 footage only to realize that TH-cam pulled the quality down to 360p. Maxed it out and it's actually beautiful footage
If scuba diving is your thing don’t buy the X4. The X4 has a dive case preset which has 8K video. Today I wanted to try my new dive case during a snorkel. I was surprised that it stopped because of ‘over heating’. Or so it notified. Very frustrating for sure. I suspect this overheating problem will be ironed out in the X5.
When you record in 360, the file size adds quickly, and considering the drop in quality is hard for someone like him to justify. Furthermore, the X3 would frequently and easily overheat in 360 mode, so you quickly become discouraged to even use 360.
So again. Why buy a 360 camera in the first place if that’s not what you want to use it for. You know what the file sizes are going to be and that they require editing. Surely and GoPro or single lens insta 360 camera is a better choice for him! Sounds to me like he doesn’t need 360!
@@everythingfelixstowevideo328 There is no “single lens insta 360 camera”. You can get a single lens camera, but the field of view will be way less than what just one lens on the Insta 360 X3 and X4 offer.
@@id.unregistered I’m in a much cooler climate and I agree, the overheating is a huge issue. That being said, if you keep it in the cab or vehicle away from direct and indirect sunlight it should be fine and not overheat, but very warm or hot ambient air could very easily lead to it overheating. Again, I’m speaking for the X3. I cannot speak for the X4, but I would imagine it isn’t any different. Honestly, a GoPro will overheat almost as easy if not easier.
I know, why get this specific camera if you're going to use it the same as you would the DJI or go Pro? I'm just trying to figure out which one I should pick up for motorcycle vlogging. I like being able to have eyes all around me in case I get hit I have evidence. The DJI only records in front of me and I need to turn my head to see shit. Still undecided..

what makes it brutally honest? im not trying to be coy is that a way to get more views out of the algorithm or something?
No bro, insta360 is sponsoring peopel to give fake reviews
And then they tell them to not tell people that theyre sponsered so it doesnt seem sketchy
@@SpottinPlanesForLife Yes, but there is nothing "brutal" about this review...it is basically just a walk through.

okay so dji osmo action 4 adventure combo and insta 360 x4 which one you will suggest
Thank you very much
Very rare find a honest review from 360 x4 today
Everyone are doing a paid review
Not honest
Thank you very much again

Use a DJI mic 2 over bluetooth? That's my plan for mic setup
Did you know if you have the Rode wireless Pro microphone you have the option to use either the 3.5mm jacks or the USB-C ...

Do you edit this on your iPad ?
How to get best quality when uploading on social media? And where can i store my files like in i cloud?
Upload to social media at 1080p with max mbps. If you're on iOS Lumafusion is a great app for that
What soft are you using in your laptop?
In studio with Adobe ísnt this enviroment
Is this good for selfie photos?

Can you switch front to rear camera in single lense mode while recording?
It's still recording everything, you switch it during the editing phase, not while recording.

Editing the 360 footy is such a drag haha
Excellent comparison!
Very informative, compared to all the other, apparently sponsored videos out there at the moment.
I bought the 360 and it blows. The lenses are sensitive and collect dust quick. Which ruins the shot. And the editing is a hassle
Not sure why you would buy a “360 camera” if you want to primarily use single lens??
