@jenymata58 I actually didn’t have a recruiter until after I got the job because i went in person and asked if Kaiser was hiring. They gave me information about coming in the next day and got the job after the interview was done. I personally don’t have a lot of experience yet and one of the questions was how much experience I had and I told her “You’re gonna laugh but 12 months” and she went hysterical soon after she said I got the job. I sat to another table with A recruiter and I filled out another electronic form and verbally accepted the offer and as of this time I’m in my preemployment process of starting which is background check, drug screen, and legal documents. My advice is if you really want it go in person, shake peoples hands that you meet. You can apply online and it does work but I’m very traditional and doing important tasks in person. And fyi I don’t know anyone that works at Kaiser or have any social connections that would help me get a foot in the door, everything was done without any help. I’m sending thank you letters once I officially start on July 24 to everyone involved in my hiring process I think a good gesture that I learned from this video.
Great, advise! Multiple KP nurses have told me NOW is the time to start applying -- KPs are very short-staffed right now due to COVID burn out and it's not as hard to get into as before. I also heard they are starting to do specialty training for ICU/ED for Med/Surg nurses looking to transfer. The fact that they started the new grad program when NCAL KP was notorious for never hiring new grads, also shows KP understands they can't be as selective as before. I applied to multiple KP's and got calls for 3 so far, this is after about 3 months of applying and I didn't have to take a pre-test. I only have about 13 months of experience. On the flip side I still keep getting rejected from Sutters, and I thought they would be easier to get into.
Yeah, it's about time they started becoming more accepting of Nurses with little to no experience in areas they're interested in working in. The new grad programs often get over 1500 applicants and only 100 of the nurses are selected. So I hope they increase their selection numbers as well.
I agree now is the time! I signed up for their emails and once I received one I applied right away! I was able to snag a per diem spot 🙌🏼 but they are so short that I’m picking up like crazy! Seriously the pay check is 🔥, love the 8 hrs shift and the HOUR lunch break lol.

Hello... another great video with informative content. Can you explain why when weighing the money and flexability Kaiser Permanent vs Travel Nursing, KP took the win for you?
Many travelers come to, and end up staying, with Kaiser Permanente because Kaiser offers better wages than almost any other hospital in the country-and very competitive with travelers wages. That, coupled with the fact that as a Kaiser employee you only have to work a minimum of 20 hours per week to get health/dental insurance and every other benefit that a full time employee gets, makes it a no-brainer for most nurses.
Hi bro. Thank for this! I just an email from Kaiser for pre hiring assessment. Can i have a copy of med cal test? And do you any idea about the Hirevue interview questions? Hope you can help me
Hi Jason, thanks for these informative videos. I am a pharmacist for 13 years, recently applied for a position. Talent acquisition specialist sent me career snapshot to fill. My job application status changed to interview scheduled that day. I submitted my response by the deadline, the job application now says interview completed. I never had any interview. Do you think they can still call me for interview or I am out of the game? 😢.
Kaiser HR is terrible at properly updating their job application statuses. If possible, try to Google the manager's name for the department you applied to. If you can find their email or LinkedIn, send them a message. Or, if you have the contact info to anyone from HR, contact them as well.
Hi Jason! Are nurses paid the same in different departments? For example, do nurses in the OR, ICU, ER, or medical surge have the same salary? Thank you!
As a new grad who has not held a bedside nursing role yet nor done any nurse residency programs, am I required to apply only for the Nurse Residency program with Kaiser, or can I still apply for any position and be "preceptored" during the first few months in that position?
Kaiser has been adding a lot of new grad positions so don't let any requirements hold you back from applying. It never hurts to apply, regardless of what the posting says.
No, because our department is still doing in-person interviews but I've had to do similar video interviews in the past. I would say just treat it like you would an in-person interview. Also, this video sums up how to prepare for the interview : th-cam.com/video/J2VnJOw5Cd0/w-d-xo.html
Yes, to an extent. You get credited 1 step for every 2 years of outside experience, up a total of 10 years of outside experience. This means the highest step you can start at is a step 5. I have a video that goes over the salaries of the highest-paying hospitals in the Sacramento area and it goes over the different pay rates based on credited years of experience with Kaiser. You can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/w_zeCiRCZnQ/w-d-xo.html

Depends, but if you're not in the ER, be prepared to be floated once or twice per shift. That's the worst part about being a Kaiser travel nurse. But, if you work in the ER, you will almost always be taking care of patients at the bedside and rarely patients that are upright ESI level 3s, 4s, or 5s. But, the one thing that is true is that if you are a traveler that's is a hard worker and are determined to get hired, you will definitely have a higher chance of getting a permanent job than a nurse applying from the outside.
Awesome video! Thanks so much for posting. I just applied to their new grad RN program and I hope to get in! Would love to kindly have a copy of the med calc test if possible 🤗
Hi Jason, was wondering what if I am an international nurse but already passed the NCLEX? I was wondering how I can be hired as an RN in Kaiser? Thanks
Kaiser has a new grad program that is hosted twice per year. You'd have to go here nursescholars.kaiserpermanente.org/community/nurse-residency-program/ and check the we site regularly for updates.
hi Jason! i know you moved to Cali from NY and both states require their own licenses. I was wondering if you transferred your NY license to California license before or after you apply for the job?
We applied for our California licenses before we started applying for jobs. I made a video about the process right here: th-cam.com/video/lp8BuYCuRag/w-d-xo.html
Hi. I'm new to this channel. Does KP accept foreign nurses who just passed NCLEX? I don't know which agency to apply to that directly hires for KP. Thank you.
Honestly I wouldn't know but all I can say is that I would recommend you apply anyway (and continue to apply). I have videos where I go step by step on how to apply for a job at Kaiser as a nurse.
They need proof of previous employment that you have listed in your application, and if you dont have pay stubs from 10 years ago, the only way to show proof is to request transcripts from the IRS.
Love your channel! Thinking about making the move after I graduate in Dec ‘22. Question: Do large CA hospitals hire new grads with ADN or is it BSN only? I’m applying to Rn Residency Programs for ICU. I’m on the East Coast in Atlanta and we do no problem. Wondering if I’ll be wasting my time applying in San Fran w/o a BSN.
No kidding... It's the only place I've ever applied to that required me to submit proof of work experience as far back as 10 years. They would have accepted paystubs but I didn't have those unfortunately, so I had to request transcripts from the IRS.
Is it only for jobs listed on the resume? Because I’ve had a few jobs I didn’t list because I only worked there for a month or so. Thank you for the information
@Nurses To Riches Praises to you! All your videos are inspiring. I am very interested to apply in KP Sacramento NorCal. Can you please send me a copy of the test? Thanks for your help.
Do you know if Kaiser's HR in NorCal are willing to approve religious exemption letters if we aren't vaccinated for covid? I know they required everyone to be vaccinated before but I heard now some religious exemptions get approved and some get rejected. I was wondering if you knew any info about that. Thanks
My understanding is that you can apply for as many positions as you want and you will be asked to test whenever you are selected as a potential candidate for an interview. So even if you fail it once, you could take it again for a different job posting.

Applying to a Kaiser ICU position with no ICU experience but 1 year of ER, 2 years med Surg/TELE, and 4 years psych. What are my chances ?
Can i have a copy of the test.thanks
Hi Jason! Are nurses paid the same in different departments? For example, do nurses in the OR, ICU, ER, or medical surge have the same salary? Thank you!
If you get hired at Sutter, UC Davis, or Kaiser, then yes, you will get paid the same regardless which specialty you work in.
@@NursesToRiches /Thank you!
why does your job submission say... no longer in consideration?? I got that note too, 1 second after I applied.
It could be that they closed down the application or have selected enough candidates for the position.
Taking bets on what this guy will be worth in 25 years. My guess is $15-$20m.
I'm not going to bet against you because that's our goal and I know we will achieve it if we remain consistent.
Hi jason. Great video by the way.
That would be more helpful if you will send a copy of the test 🙂
Absolutely! Just submit your info here forms.gle/fJUhs7M1YBpevKaU6 and I'll email it to you 🙂.
Awesome video 😎
Thanks dude!
@@NursesToRiches That's wild. I guess I know what I'm doing with all my free time. LOL! Thanks, my friend. Reaaaally appreciate you.
You didn’t have to do a HireVue interview?
No, because our department is still doing in-person interviews but I've had to do similar video interviews in the past. I would say just treat it like you would an in-person interview.
Also, this video sums up how to prepare for the interview : th-cam.com/video/J2VnJOw5Cd0/w-d-xo.html
I work at KP. But you’ll be so much more financially free investing in Real Estate.
Agreed. Owning your own business is always better than being an employee though.
Thank you so much for your videos
Thanks for the comment!
Do you get paid more based on years of experience?
Yes, to an extent. You get credited 1 step for every 2 years of outside experience, up a total of 10 years of outside experience. This means the highest step you can start at is a step 5. I have a video that goes over the salaries of the highest-paying hospitals in the Sacramento area and it goes over the different pay rates based on credited years of experience with Kaiser. You can watch it here: th-cam.com/video/w_zeCiRCZnQ/w-d-xo.html
Thank you for this. How do I get a copy of the test?
You're welcome! Go here and fill in your info so I can email it to you forms.gle/GbYQbe3deWHfeReK8
Update: to all new viewers - the test is in our "free files for members" section in Discord server. Join us here: discord.gg/TsCazgFY5X
@@NursesToRiches I have filled out the form.
Late post here guys. But
How does Kaiser handle their travel nurses? Any tips and recommendations for a traveler?
Depends, but if you're not in the ER, be prepared to be floated once or twice per shift. That's the worst part about being a Kaiser travel nurse. But, if you work in the ER, you will almost always be taking care of patients at the bedside and rarely patients that are upright ESI level 3s, 4s, or 5s. But, the one thing that is true is that if you are a traveler that's is a hard worker and are determined to get hired, you will definitely have a higher chance of getting a permanent job than a nurse applying from the outside.
Thank you for this video Jason. I’m from Naneelle channel . I would like to have the copy of the test please. I am currently in Arizona.
Hi, you can find the file in our Discord server here: discord.gg/TsCazgFY5X
Thank you 😊
How about a transfer from a kaiser georgia region to kaiser california? Any insights?
Awesome video! Thanks so much for posting. I just applied to their new grad RN program and I hope to get in! Would love to kindly have a copy of the med calc test if possible 🤗
Hi Jason, was wondering what if I am an international nurse but already passed the NCLEX? I was wondering how I can be hired as an RN in Kaiser? Thanks
Hi, you would apply the same way everyone else would. Just follow the steps in the video.
Hi. May I have a copy of the med Calc?
Do they ask about grades from nursing school? Thank you.
Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
Do you have any advice on getting into the mental health department?
Do you think there could be a possibility of getting hired as a new grad the end of 2022
Kaiser has a new grad program that is hosted twice per year. You'd have to go here nursescholars.kaiserpermanente.org/community/nurse-residency-program/ and check the we site regularly for updates.
I can tell in a a few minutes if a person has common sense when they show up at interview.
So true 👍
Its all about union senority
Do u think a kaiser medical offices and kaiser hospitals have a pretty similar pay for RNs?
Yes, as long as they are part of the same union, they share the same wages, regardless of the specialty.
@@NursesToRiches thanks!!!
@@samanthamisenhimer7773 You're welcome!
What specialty are you in ?
I work in an ER. Monica is a Tele nurse.
hi Jason! i know you moved to Cali from NY and both states require their own licenses.
@@NursesToRiches ok thank you so much.
Is it easy to transfer from one KP to another?
Yes, in most cases all you have to do is apply and you don't even have to interview for the position in the hospital you're looking to transfer to.
@@NursesToRiches thanks I got a call from another KP facility and there was no interview just basically asked if I wanted the job lol.
@@jatk6732 there you go. Congrats! That's the beauty of working for Kaiser, lol.
Why do they need W-2’s from previous jobs?
They need proof of previous employment that you have listed in your application, and if you dont have pay stubs from 10 years ago, the only way to show proof is to request transcripts from the IRS.
How do I get transcripts from the irs?
@NurseMayra you have to request them from irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript
Hi, do they take PRN RNs
They have per diem RN positions, not exactly PRN.
Most hospitals up here, unless they're teaching hospitals (like UCD), hire nurses with their ADN
I would like a copy of the test too please
I've actually added the file to our "free files 4 members" channel on our discord server because it takes too long to send it via email
W2’s for the Last 10 years seems excessive
No kidding... It's the only place I've ever applied to that required me to submit proof of work experience as far back as 10 years. They would have accepted paystubs but I didn't have those unfortunately, so I had to request transcripts from the IRS.
@@NursesToRiches Did they need exact W2's or could tax returns work? I have my returns but not my w2's from 10 years ago.
@@radioed99 Either of the two will work.
Is it only for jobs listed on the resume? Because I’ve had a few jobs I didn’t list because I only worked there for a month or so. Thank you for the information
Give me 3 years I’ll be there
Like I always say dress up for success.
For real 💯
Not everyone can move to California but my plan would be to get a job at Kaiser and get a 20 hour a week position and then commute from Texas.
@Nurses To Riches Praises to you! All your videos are inspiring. I am very interested to apply in KP Sacramento NorCal. Can you please send me a copy of the test? Thanks for your help.
Hi, you can obtain it by going to our discord server here discord.gg/TsCazgFY5X
Thank you!
I have filled out the form/link you sent. Thank you. 🙏
@@jezminnesarabia2769 cool. I sent you a copy of the study guide.
Do you think I should wait for experience as a nurse to apply for kaiser
If I were you I would apply, with or without experience.
Do you know if Kaiser's HR in NorCal are willing to approve religious exemption letters if we aren't vaccinated for covid? I know they required everyone to be vaccinated before but I heard now some religious exemptions get approved and some get rejected. I was wondering if you knew any info about that. Thanks
They do approve religious exemptions but only on a case by case basis.
Kaiser missed the opportunity of hiring me.
Same happened to me for 8 months in a row, lol.
Same
Can you please email me the copy!!!
Of course! Click here and fill out your info: forms.gle/uAeUbVZfQiyZQRgE7
@@NursesToRiches what if you don’t pass the test?? They won’t consider you the position?
My understanding is that you can apply for as many positions as you want and you will be asked to test whenever you are selected as a potential candidate for an interview. So even if you fail it once, you could take it again for a different job posting.
@@NursesToRiches I am getting so discouraged. I applied for 4 jobs two weeks ago and still haven’t heard anything yet.
@@saharap4136 don't be discouraged. It took me 8 months to get into Kaiser. It took Monica 3 months. Continue to live your life. If it happens, it happens. If not, just keep trying to it does.
