    Excellent setup. My WR has some of the same mods. I'm tall also, although not as tall as you. I love my WR for many of the same reasons, in fact, your video from about a year ago convinced me to buy the WR and I've never regretted it! For additional storage on day trips I add the Tusk Traverse Pannier Bags along with my Nelson-Rigg Rear Fender Bag which I run all the time.

    I like dual sports too, the first one I bought was a new DR750 when I was 17. At the moment my 690SMC is stock because I don't waste my time off road on it, so no real need for standing on the pegs much. I really like the geometry of my ktm 1090R, I'm 6'4" and find it great for standing on the pegs straight from the factory. Nothing against Yamaha's here, I have a 1982 YZ490 to hang on the wall.

    My WR has 14/49 gearing and was constantly pulling on my buddy’s 300L today during some fun short drag races. Every time lol.

    I have a 2020 wr250r and changing to 14/49 gears along with big gun exhaust and jd jetting tuner really woke it up...a lot more low end tourqe and still has a lot of top end..I also have tusk dsport tires..

      Nice man! I had 14/49 on my old WR and it was perfect!

      @@OgreMoto my next upgrade will be the suspension..I do have the have the standard seat concepts seat on mine

  • @InternetzVideoz
    @InternetzVideoz 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've done similar mods to mine.
    Still want to do the raised seat concepts seat.
    I have the same flatland guards and wide footpegs.
    I'm running cr high bend bars, but am using offset bar mounts, mounted forward.
    Upgrade your tires asap.
    You'll not regret it and it will handle so much better.
    Also try riding it like a two stroke (higher in the power range). It likes to sing and will provide more consistent power.

      I already have a D-sport rear and Mt21 front in the garage, I’m just gonna wear these down a bit first! Thanks for the advice!

      @@OgreMoto if you are going to ride street, fine. If you plan on doing more dirt, mount the new ones and sell the originals on marketplace for a few $. They aren't called death wings for nothing.
      Also have them balanced and rim locks.
      They will bounce without, and you will loose traction.
      Unless you mount a camera to see the amount of wheel hop (worse on pavement).

    • @OgreMoto
      @OgreMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've already ridden some pretty intense single track with the deathwings man. All I ride is basically off-road. I'm gonna put some miles on em first lol. Appreciate the concern though!

    I think ergonomics are more important than a clear view of your stock dash display, I really like my Rox 2" risers with a forward tilt to open up the cockpit space. There are many ways to customize a bracket for your pegs to lower them around 1" and to the rear 1" this gets your center of gravity down as well.

    • @Rspence_86
      @Rspence_86 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does your bike handle much different with the risers on?

    • @OgreMoto
      @OgreMoto  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Rspence_86 yes, it does, if you go too high with the bar rise it really starts to handle wonky, that’s yet another reason (I forgot to mention in the video) why I ditched the risers and just went with the tallest bars I could find.

    • @raddestraven
      @raddestraven 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Rspence_86 Yes, because I get less upper body fatigue so I am riding at a higher level plus it is the only way I can hold onto the 300xc with the red spring installed. The steering in theory should slow down when the risers are all the way forward but that can be a good thing at speed and I don't even notice it. It is because you are making a windshield wiper type arch the further forward your bars are in front of your steering tube. I rode my Merlin titanium mountain bike for years with a 200mm stem so these Rox risers would be a fraction of that.

      @@raddestraven Having ridden one, those KTM 300’s are really cramped compared to the WR stock to stock. If I were riding one, especially hard, I’d have a lot of bar rise as well just like you.
      But this is a dual sport, it sees road a lot as well, I need to see the dash, and this setup is only 1” lower than my old setup with risers.

    Love your videos! I just picked up a WR250R that was unfortunately modded for a shorter rider with the low seat concepts seat and lowering links. I got a good deal and I love the bike so far, but I want to optimize it for my 6'4 self.
    I've already ordered the tall seat concepts tall seat and planning to get the same bars, but I can't seem to find good info on getting a longer clutch cable.
    Which clutch cable did you use?

    • @OgreMoto
      @OgreMoto  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I got the motion pro +2” cable
      They also make custom order cables too, so you could order it longer if needed.

    Thanks for the video. I consider this bike because I am 6.7 with long legs. I took a 300 Honda crfl and I lower the pegs by 2 inches et rise the bar by 2 inches but I still struggle to ride stand up. I have to bend my upper body too much. My inseam is 38 what is yours?

    I just bought a WR250R only based on your reviews. I will pick it up this weekend, I am 6,6 and 250 pounds and was always having a hard time finding a light bike suited for my height. Very curious, the are very rare in the Netherlands

      How do you fit on your bike because iam also 6´7 and struggle to fit on my 300 crfl with higher handle bar and lower pegs but it is not enough when I ride stand up.

    Hey I bought the same RSC clutch lever. The stock lever has a second cable going into it. Looks like a switch. The hole from the wire is much larger than the little hole on the RSC. I see you didn't reinstall it on your RSC. What did you do with it?

    • @OgreMoto
      @OgreMoto  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Stow it somewhere where it doesn’t get in the way and make sure you don’t start it in gear without the clutch pulled in. It’s just the sensor to make sure the clutch is pulled in when starting.
