  • I needed a new seat for the Yamaha WR250R because my butt and the stock seat weren't getting along too well during long road trips. This is the Seat Concepts complete seat assembly in the "tall" size, with the blue and black gripper material. Direct link can be found here:

    Kudos to Seat Concepts for putting together a reasonably priced alternative to the stock Yamaha WR250R seat. If you find this video useful, please like and subscribe. Also, please comment if you have any questions and I'd be happy to answer them!

    Great review, I have that same seat and love it. Can you tell me a little bit about how you shortened your rear fender extension?

    Great review. I'm 6'4 too and I'm really keen to get a WR250R, currently have a Tiger 800XC. Do you find the WR comfortable when standing with lowered Fastway pegs and bar risers? I was concerned it would be too small, as in a 'circus bear'

      @Blooskyy - It is definitely a different bike than the Tiger for sure. My best recommendation would be to find one locally at the dealer or private owner and sit / stand on it if you haven't done so already. For me, I like the riding position. Lately I've been doing about 70% back road riding and 30% trails / dirt. Standing up comfort for a tall rider is about as good as it is going to be for a bike in this class. Stock the WR is better than the DRZ-400 (the WR is taller) and the bar risers and foot pegs certainly help. I don't have any issues but it definitely is a matter of personal taste. I don't think a better bike exists in this class for tall rider fitment, but I've never been on a KTM or Husky so I'm not sure.

      @@emdavis197 Thanks for the info! I've test ridden a stock WR and I thought it was great, on the cramped side but with risers and lowered pegs I was hoping it couid be a reasonably comfortable standing position for trail riding. I think I'm going to give it a go and hope for the best :)

    Hey how are the maintenance intervals, AND how does 5th and 6th gear act when you’re going speeds from 50-70mph?

    I'm interested to know if you'd go with the tall seat again or if you prefer the standard height? I'm 6.4ft.

    • @emdavis197
      @emdavis197  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @blooskyy - I think it depends on your intended purpose for the bike. I originally intended to use it primarily for off-road / dirt / trails. Now I use it probably 75% back road touring. If I was still using it more as a dirt / off-road oriented bike I'd probably go lower. But if I had to buy it again I'd go with the tall version that I have right now. I've kept the stock seat for when I'm going trail riding or to an ORV park, easy swap when you need it. My advice would be, if you ride anything more than 50% trails / dirt, go with the standard height. Hope this helps!

    Nicely done. How tall are you? I'm 5ft 9

    • @emdavis197
      @emdavis197  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I am 6ft 4in. If you are going with a custom seat, I would stay clear of the tall version for this bike if I was under 6'2". They do make the seat in a standard height as well.
