Look at this video and practice a lot can get the hand of it sometimes but still when I take it to the mountain drift zone it a bit different are anywhere else it become the same thing of spinning out a lot I give up on it and when back to controller when playing assetto Corsa I can drift way better on wheel but Forza is a nightmare on wheel
Literally! I just got my g920 yesterday and I plugged it all up and I was so excited to drift on it and damn I fucking sucked. All I kept doing was spinning out!
I would recommend auto upgrade to B/ A class or even just a lower powered drift build and adding drift tyres, it massively help me, if you think about it, you wouldn’t start first time on a 500hp drift car irl, just my opinion + thanks for the help
I wouldn’t recommend auto upgrade whatsoever, if you want to drift you’ll want to learn what parts do what to your car, tuning is 90% of what makes a good drift car. You definitely can drift a auto built car but learning how to tune is going to benefit you much more down the line.
Starting out trying to drift was extremely hard for me, then I went into first person mode and felt like I was actually driving my vehicle and I had some improvements upon drifting. It is weird to me seeing my actual car and trying to steer it. Felt like driving an RC car in a way. Weird xD
I was a pro with the controller and I drove with the third-person camera as well. since I bought the steering wheel, I often practice, drive, I'm getting better and better, but I noticed one thing, I drive much better in the cockpit camera than in 3rd person. I'm a very good driver in real life, and somehow in Forza I feel the car better in the cockpit camera
Nice one, looks like the spot you chose for this is better than trying to learn weaving up & down a runway. Will have a go at it and see how long it takes me.
I've got my Logitech g920 for 2 days now and I'm practicing drifts, but every time my car gets only a little bit of grip or I'm ending the drift my wheel turns the other way and just yeets me off the road
Idk if its just me I have your wheel settings and tuning but I literally can not drift this car im barley pressing the pedal enough to go the same speed as you but no matter what I do im spinning out as soon as the drift is started. wasted literally an entire day trying to get it down and 0 improvement I have no idea what im doing wrong
bruh this helped out so much. the biggest tip i can give after 3 days and not being able to learn was to use traction control to learn and take. off when you learn
yeah it's actually super helpful i used it a lot when i was on controller rather than e-brake drifts i used momentum and weight transfer, learning it on wheel is a whole different story though lol
I'm wondering, when does Forza count 'a slide' as a drift. Practicing drifting in a circle like in this video I get half around half a circle. My car is turned sideways and my wheels are spinning through. But I don't get any drift points more often then not. Does the duration or the angle matter?
For all who have the same issue. I learned recently that there is a difference between a power slide and a drift. Power slide = sliding after the apex, drift = slide starts before the actual turn.
I turned my sensitivity all the way down, but the game wheel still turns all the way right before my wheel reaches its edge it isn't that much of a problem though, if I switch to 900° it turns a little more accurately
I've found turning the outside dead zone down on the steering helps to get full rotation of the tires without having to crank the wheel all the way for counter steering. Also lock your differential to 100% on tuning. Power shouldn't be the issue. Start with wheel settings
Hi, I’m not able to drift on Forza horizon 5. The car spins almost every time I enter the drift on edges. May you help by making a video on how to set up wheel? Thank you.
Yeah I’m having the same problem even with a low horsepower car. At this point I don’t know if it’s me or if this wheel is bad. Because when I try to drift the wheel seems to over compensate making it difficult to keep the car in a smooth drift.
@@corbinlennon8693 what wheel do you have, also i put my advanced control settings back to the default and trained a bit of gas control and somehow did a few corners whit a rwd car which i couldnt do before.

Been playing beamng and assetto for a while and got the hang of drifting pretty good but idk how forza will be, getting my moza QR this week for my steering wheel
I would suggest not doing it, and if you absolutely have to then make sure to use a low degree or angle perhaps 360-540 this way you can easily counter steer. On wheels with force feed back you start the drift and let go of the wheel and it’ll automatically counter steer then you catch the wheel, when I started drifting I found it difficult to catch the wheel. I lowered my rotational degree to 540 and manually counter steered and it helped me to learn how to balance the car, I gradually went up to 720 with high sensitivity and then finally to 900 degrees with normal sensitivity and now I can almost drift anything. Took me about 2 hours of practicing to get it down. Hope this helps as it’s coming from a noob who only has 10 hours on forza horizon so if it helps me it should help you!
Ok but, man, every drift, sliding videos I see on FH5 it seems that the guys have no FFB in the steering, I think I know how to drift, how to do a little powerslide in exit of a corner, but my steering wheel (Thrustmaster TX) is everything except soft, I can't manage the wheel because it's stiff (I'm on console), so it's pretty frustrating that even a little powerslide can't be done properly, I see everyone around drifting, sliding, but because of wheel settings or I don't know, I can't., I have literaly more control with my controller ..

HokiHoshi has an incredible guide covering all things tuning, very valuable and worth a watch if I say so.
not auto upgrade, also just don't dump a bunch of power in. add enough to break the tires loose in like second gear .
on a wheel stock tires are better
Yea i wouldnt auto upgrade but i like the lower horsepower car for sure tho

It’s kind of not fun for me not seeing my car… learned to kill it outside far chase not near
go into settings and turn on drift cockpit if u want it to feel even smoother? you can pretty much see the momentum just from how it turns
I cant tell if your talking about real life or in the game 😂
For people who don’t know drifting on a mountain is harder because the ground changes pitch a lot and the car weight shifts different to level ground

it won’t give you points for holding drifts for a long time
