@@kettlepal3434 First of all, you don't march french horn due to the fact that the bell faces away from the targeted crowd. The mellophone is the marching version of the french horn. I can say this because I am a mellophone player during marching season and a french horn player for concert band.

French Horns are still used in marching bands. We use a slightly modified one with a longer lead pipe, but it's the same.

Man, as a trumpet player, that Mello line is so much more fun to hear AND play. Literally, my senior year I went to Flugelhorn for Marching and I for damn sure enjoyed my fingers doing some crazy stuff in Bb.

That's like my high school, every band. Marching, Pep, Concert, etc. The clarinets will get a trumpet part for at least one piece per any show.

Douglas Why is it the mellophone and alto sax always have the same parts? I played the baritone horn in school, and never remember the mellophone section being included in the brass rehearsals, or maybe it was because they were all weird and I forced myself to not see them...

We played this last year for our marching band (we stood still of course), I ended up being one of the few people who learned to play it at least decently. But as soon as I was able to play it, I had realized all it was just a bunch of repetitions in the notes. If you do end up realizing that, it really isn't as hard as it looks.

I’m sure if we had French horns that could play our 8th grade band could handle this. As a clarinet this is about as hard as the fast part in the greatest
ok, this is the same person but a different account...I told our band director we should do it. Apparently she really really liked it. But our school closed down because of covid-19 and we wouldn't have enough time to play this challenging of a song and Im like really mad XD So she chose some like really easy and boring song.
I played this my freshman year. We didn't play it as a band, me and a few friends played it together. We sucked and it sounded like crap, but we enjoyed playing it. The recording is lost somewhere in my phone.
