Maggie Reilley's Original and Cascada version are - in a way - different songs. Same lyrics and melody, both iconic, but play to different sensibilities. The two truly can't compare.
Different lyrics, Cascada’s version has different verses
I am 32 years old and listened for the first time. Such melody! ♥️
This great guitarist is Tim Renwick. He was a member of Pink Floyd back in the 80s. He also performed with Eric Clapton, Roger Waters, Elton John and Michael Jackson.
Thanks for the info I was wondering who he was.No wonder I loved his guitar playing!
and Al Stewart, if I'm not mistaken.
PeterSpaeter96 Thats right!
Έτσι. Ωραίος.
Techinically not a member of Pink Floyd, but he did tour with them and appear on 'The Division Bell' (1994). But I didn't know he did guitar on this until I read this comment.
This song never gets old... Masterpiece

Genau so😍

Как же красиво, слушаю раз за разом и не могу остановиться!🥰
It's so beautiful, I listen to it over and over again and I can't stop!🥰
For me, this is the greatest Song of all time. This voice together with Mike Oldfields Guitar is absolutely a Dream. I miss Music like that so much today.
Mike Oldfield didn't play here. I am not sure but I think I've read he even hates this song.
@@chupimoth1 Oh Really? I always thought so :) But Moonlight Shadow did both together, right? Thank you for the enlighting.
@@silv8618 Yes of course. Maybe he don't like it because it sounds quite similar
Wonderful,this Song is LOVE 💓💓💓
The guitarist that plays here is Tim Renwick - he also played along Eric Clapton, Michael Jackson and some other well known artists.
Wunderschöner Text und wunderschöne Melodie einfach schön 🙌❤
Omg that guitar tone is so emotional 😭 what a song !!!!!
These oldies are ripping me up tonight. To think that Human emotions are so strong that a song like this can have such a deep impact on your Soul.
Beautiful woman and a beautiful voice/song
This song is like a sunny and warm day in the heart of the winter...
Your voice like a clear stream... thanks, Maggie.
Everytime We Touch Lyrics
A shooting star fell down to earth
Lightning cracked the sky
Something weird is happening
Something I can't deny
A strange kind of magic
Running through my brain
Feel I'm in heaven
Or going insane
'Cause everytime we touch
I get this feeling
And everytime we kiss
I swear I could fly
Can't you feel my heart beat fast
I want this to last
Need you by my side
'Cause everytime we touch
I feel this static
And everytime we kiss
I reach for the sky
Can't you hear my heart beat so
I can't let you go
Want you in my life
The wind was like a hurricane
Storm clouds filled the sky
I heard a crash of thunder
The earth shook in reply
A strange kind of magic
Running through my brain
Feel like I'm in heaven
Or going insane
'Cause everytime we touch
I get this feeling
And everytime we kiss
I swear I could fly
Can't you hear my heart beat fast
I want this to last
Need you by my side
'Cause everytime we touch
I feel this static
And everytime we kiss
I reach for the sky
Can't you hear my heart beat so
I can't let you go
Want you in my life

Una estrella fugaz cayó a la tierra.
Un rayo rompió el cielo
Algo raro esta pasando
Algo que no puedo negar
Un extraño tipo de magia.
Corriendo por mi cerebro
Siento que estoy en el cielo
O volviéndome loco
Porque cada vez que nos tocamos
Tengo este sentimiento
Y cada vez que nos besamos
Juro que podríamos volar
¿No puedes sentir mi corazón latir rápido?
Quiero que esto dure
Te necesito a mi lado
Porque cada vez que nos tocamos
Siento esta estática
Y cada vez que nos besamos
Alcanzo el cielo
¿No puedes oír mi corazón latir tan
No puedo dejarte ir
Te quiero en mi vida
El viento era como un huracán.
Nubes de tormenta llenaron el cielo.
Escuché un trueno
La tierra tembló como respuesta.
Un extraño tipo de magia.
Corriendo por mi cerebro
Siento que estoy en el cielo
O volviéndome loco
Porque cada vez que nos tocamos
Tengo este sentimiento
Y cada vez que nos besamos

Excellent good job.👉👌
Being Scottish and not knowing this was the original until now actually warms my heart knowing the original is from a Scottish artist, alba gu bràth🏴💙
It's an amazing song! It was such a great decade. My teenager time. I listened this song up and down. This wonderfull time will never come back.
Maggie Reilly's voice and songs have the essence of a special nostalgia I 've been having since a kid.
The same
My goodness where have the years gone. Make the most of them young people, because you don't stay young forever, but songs like this take you back there.
What a delightful surprise to find out that the same voice singing this song is that having sung "Moonlight Shadow".
Как же не хватает такой живой и феноменальной музыки сегодня...
Мегги спасибо тебе за столь замечательные треки🤘

She is the heaven on earth. Obviously!
Yes, It is true!
My brothers told me the one by Cascada was not the original and there was one way before it. I have now found the original and am now opened to a whole new world of music!!
somewhere in the back of my mind I was always sure that an older, rock-oriented recording of this song existed, and lo and behold...
Her voice rings like a gentle bell. Never knew the singer, but have heard this song many time, as well as Moonlight Shadow. Always wondered who the singer was. Thanks to the Internet - now I know!
Can’t stop listening, that guitar arrangement is truly amazing just need to play it one more time 🤪
Very much time went into the studio and laying down the different tracks with effects, then compressing the output to even levels. The vocal effects are great. Several voices of her singing mixed together. With a heavy reverb
@@jmp01a24 Keys not too shabby either 🎹👆
@@jussiuutaniemi3767 Yes its a nice theme. Emotional but it gets the job done. The vocal work + editing was good, but used by many others at the same timeperiod. It was a good time. Roxette, etc.
@@jmp01a24 absolutely. Great times, so many ways. I started music studies in the classical field in mid 80s, piano as the nr. 1 instrument, later influences in other genres as well. It was the ideal time, music really started to die in my opinion sometime in the late 90s and this millennium is hopeless. Craftsmanship was there 30 years ago, creativity and soul too.
@@jussiuutaniemi3767 Very little original have been made since as you say the late 90s. There was a golden period from 2000-2010 for electronic music, but that too has just gone back to doing the same old thing, only with a simpler output, we have heard it all before, its just variations of the old classics. With very few exceptions. You still play?
No idea this existed until now. Love it
This is the version I've been looking for! The one I I remember from my 20s ❤❤❤
She has one of the most beautiful voices I've ever heard. She is sweet as well.
I can't deny that I didn't know this original version, the one that I remember the most was Cascada's cover. However this is absolutely beautiful and her voice is like heaven. I also love the video which makes me feel nostalgic and I don't know why. Maybe I can relate to the little kid as I was a kid in the 90's.
Timeless song 😊
i didnt know about this original version either until i saw a random youtube comment mention this less than a week ago
Just found this version after how many years of knowing Cascada’s version It’s pretty cool.
Maggie Reilly and Elaine Paige are probably my favourite singers in terms of voice quality
@@aliblue3605 Cascadas Version isn't a cover. The verse part is entirely different and the chorus is borrowed from this song.
Magie's voice certainly has remained timeless.
Maggie is one of the truly greats. She has the voice of an angel and who can forget her songs To France and Moonlight Shadow in collaboration with Mike Oldfield

Wow... her voice is beautiful...
Maggie Reilly (born 15 September 1956 in Glasgow[1]) is a Scottish singer of Irish descent best known for her collaborations with the composer and instrumentalist Mike Oldfield. Most notably, she performed lead vocals on the Oldfield songs "Family Man", "Moonlight Shadow", "To France" and "Foreign Affair", all of which were international hits in the early 1980s.
How could I have not been missed all that as child of 80's... This still gives me good vibes...
Tim Renwick. Played for Pink Floyd, Procul Harum, Mike Oldfield among others. The song was musically composed by the german Peter Risavy who sadly died way too early in 2011.
Was Maggie Reilly, Mike Oldfield's wife?
