    I’m in Oregon too and the wind storm today blew so many pine needles and branches everywhere so I collected a bunch to make this and oil and saves but I’m a newbie so thank you for making videos for people like me to follow. 🙌💚🌲

    I knew there had to be a way - I've heard of certain evergreens that appear like scaled stems and they are suppose to be edible but don't know for sure about much of anything. I really appreciate this video as I use homemade vinegar for cleaning and really wanted to begin using pine - thanks so much!!! I knew it was antibacterial antiviral and probably a whole lot more so this is valuable info!

    I have tons of citrus vinegar; I mix half and half with the dish soap and laundry soap,. I have some spruce chips I got when a lot was cleared, so I may try using some of them and see how it works.

    Does the pine add anything to the cleaning ability or is it just an aroma?

      Pine is actually an anti viral agent and is good for the respiratory system. 🌲👍♥️

    I love foraging but for informational purposes only it appears that your first jar is of Douglas fir.True pine will have 2-5 needles grouped together vrs each needle growing independently, Douglas fir needles also have a faint white line down the back of the needle. No worries pine and Douglas fir have very similar uses.

    Does cedar count as a pine or no? We have several cedar trees is why I’m asking. We have pine also but they’re too tall for me to reach them. I’d love to try this and make one for my mom who uses vinegar to clean a lot.

    • @2leelouCreates
      @2leelouCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not sure. I have never used it. I'd have to do some research on it. But my guess is that it would be fine. It might even smell a bit like cedar, too. I would only wonder if the cedar oils might be stronger for people with sensitive skin, so they'd need to make sure to use gloves.

    • @apiecemaker1163
      @apiecemaker1163 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2leelouCreates hmmm yeah didn’t think about that. Was just thinking they were more abundant and easier for me to get to. I think I’ll stick with the pine. Thank you. I always trust your advice because you try to do the research and do things right. I appreciate that.

    This is interesting and I’m sure it smells divine! But isn’t the finished product sticky after extracting, the sap would come out also, yes? 🤔

    Can I use my Christmas tree for this? I haven’t taken it out yet 😶. It’s not taking up water anymore but will it still work?

    • @2leelouCreates
      @2leelouCreates  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see what it wouldn't as long as it's still fresh and not dried out.

    • @RG_Eph
      @RG_Eph ปีที่แล้ว

      @@2leelouCreates It’s kind of dry but not completely..would that still work? Thanks for your reply!

    • @abbylynn8872
      @abbylynn8872 ปีที่แล้ว

      Christmas trees are usually evergreen conifers, such as spruce, fir and pines. So yes they will work. If it's still green, but a little dry, it should work. Dried works but not as well...... think adding dried herbs to a vinegarette and how much flavor and oils are imparted. Your making a concentrate so the fresher the better.
