    My daughter saves cornsilk and adds it to all the vegetable scraps, which are used to make vegetable broth for soups and stews.

    Had corn silk tea last couple days. I steep for 15-20 minutes, add honey and coffee creamer and it is amazing. Taste better than the corn. There are nutrients in corn silk you can't get anywhere else.

    I enjoyed this video just like all of your other videos! you are a hard worker just like your bees. My mom has passed now, God bless her soul; she was old school and used a lot of herbal recipes because she wasn't fond of doctors. I remember growing up, she used to air dry the corn silk in the sun in a basket. Once dry she'll store it in a glass jar. Then she would drink it as tea, boil the water with dry corn silk, strain it and sip away. It looks like camomile tea as far as the color. She used to say, it is the best for UTI's and bladder infections & fluidity of urination especially for women! Just like what you said. Keep up the good work, you are amazing!

    Oh, I am amazed! Our journeys are so similar! I only recently found your channel, and in the last year my hubby and I made plans to turn our detached, 16x24 garage into a Summer Kitchen/Herbal workshop to get some of the clutter of my “interests” out of my home kitchen!
    And, even more recently, (no joke), the very words out of my mouth to him were:
    “I think I’m trying to do too many things. At 69, if I focus on learning about herbal contributions to health, and provide products and services regarding that to folks, perhaps I can make enough $ to buy or barter food from local farms and support them in the process.”
    AND, to top it off I just brought my mothers old enamel-topped cabinet into the garage to hold my medium Freeze Dryer. It looks very much like your yellow one. 😊
    I just found that very interesting, and not at all coincidental. 😊 I think God brought me to your channel to encourage me, and to confirm His leading, since I have from the start committed to do all this very much step by step, following His leading!!!
    Thank you!❤❤❤

      I wondered why you didn't give your cow a cornstarch. She would love it. I wouldn't give them too much at first, but if they've been eating grass all summer they should be fine. (The risk in giving too much green when they have only been eating hay, is bloat) When we used to grow field corn, after we had harvested it, we would let the cows into the field to eat all the stalks and convert it to manure.

  • @michaelcolors
    @michaelcolors ปีที่แล้ว +1

    All corn varietal strains carry a Fire vibration in the Chinese 5 Elements. Therefore, corn silk acts as a general, warming remedy for the body. St. John's wort also carries a Fire vibration, however it specifically targets the brain and CNS, hence it's goodness for bringing balance with depression and SAD symptoms. Fire foods are MINOR in their influence in US culture. Why? Because very few people are willing to eat hot chilis. Yet, hot chilis (all varieties) are extremely beneficial to those who lack Fire vibration in their body chemistry. IMPORTANT: Water vibration foods and herbal remedies do the "real" healing with all things urinary tract (including kidneys) and reproductive issues for both females and males! ♥️

      I grow a a variety. Look us Hoss tools, Baker creek, and strictly medicinal. Honestly.. anything you grow will be better than store bought!

    Do you know if all corn is gmo now? I heard corn was genetically modified to produce its own pesticide so bugs wont go near it. Im afraid to eat it too or use it for anything

    What variety of corn are you growing? I’m assuming it’s nonGMO corn so that your bees are not exposed to GMO’s

      I actually am growing a few different types! Some from Baker Creek, strictly medicinal, and Hoss :)

      From what I understand, a gardener can't possibly purchase GMO seeds for anything. They are exclusively produced for large producers.

    Can you explain the alcohol proof to alcohol? Im so confused. You must have to buy a ton of alcohol for all your tinctures! Is there a particular brand you like?

    Kaylee, why go to all the trouble with the corn silks and waiting 30 days? Just drink a quart of 100 proof and your bladder will work just fine but you won’t even know it! lol
