In hindsight, I think I was a little harsh on myself when I was recording the voiceover. But like I say, I think it's important to publish efforts that haven't come out as planned. I could have gone back to the drawing board and started over, but by which point I'd frankly had enough of this casting! I will learn a lot from this 'restoration'!
We all have those unfinished projects we need finish and for one reason or another and put them aside. I am happy you finished the restoration. I have a Tonka truck I need to get finished :). Maybe over this long weekend.
You’re one of the few listenable channels, I have listen and watched everyone on your channel and I stop 🛑 and watch each new one, yes I subscribed along time ago 🆒
The car came out great . Nice casting. This is one car that looks good with a tow hook , the family car looks like it would be towing a trailer around . Awesome 😎. Mike Espo .
Looks good to me, close up photography can show up tiny imperfections the eye's can't see so you were being a little harsh on yourself. But as you say these things don't always go to plan, I've had my fair share of difficulties in the last year of my efforts.
They certainly don't always work out man. I've got a flashsider due tomorrow that I've pulled paint off with the tape several times... Lol. Thx for sharing and it does look pretty good all things considered man.
Oh dear. Victor FA. no no. It was the F Series or even Model F but not FA. The yellow was actually Harvest Yellow. I have the Triang F Series Victor but alas not in its box. Was battery powered and the exhaust pipe was the switch. It has steering too. Nice resto on your Lesney. One day I will get to do the same. You could also get the model in a plastic packet and assemble it yourself. Mine got broken in storage and have never seen any others. Thanks for posting.
In 10th grade, my first ever auto shop teacher owned a cream and light yellow, two tone Vauxhall Victor. I could not fathom why "Ol' Man Keegstra", a licensed mechanic, would buy and drive a Vauxhall Victor in Alberta. Do you have any idea what winter is like on Canada's Prairie? There's a pinch of snow and it gets a bit chilly. Not at all like Blighty. Enough old fart ramblings. I really like what you did, it looks just like a Vauxhall...and it brought me some 50+ year old memories.
You forgot to paint the rear taillights red. The ones you did was the rear turn signals. the taillights run verticly below the turn signsl. Thanks I have to dig my original one out, We owned a New Vauxhall Victor Model F Super that we drove from Florida USA to Los Angeles and crosscountry several times as well as my personal car in my Late 20*s ( 1984)
Looks absolutely fine to me Jason but the imperfections will annoy you every time you see the car now. Could you maybe combine this one's repair with the estate car - do them together?
By the way the car was not based on the 55 chevy. It was designed in the UK and the clay model was shipped to Detroit for GM's approval. The story goes it was damaged during the flight and rather than ship it back to the uk for repair, it was left for GM to repair the damage and they went a bit over board and it did look like a chevy in the end. How true??
the speckles are barely visible... but I know what you mean. it's like the perfect paintjob, and at the very last moment some dust speckle lands in the middle of the roof... and another excursion into a vehicle's history. are you studying something along that line? I wouldn't even know where to begin... XD

Thats the best colour victor I've seen , I always remember them in horrible grey and black .
I think it looks good. Found one of these under a rock in the creek behind my house in the late 70’s. I was pretty excited. Very corroded, but intact!
Terrific update to this old classic. Great work all round
I still think it looks good! Thanks for sharing this.
Looks good to me nice work Jason
A few checker strip decals, and you have a custom taxi cab.

Looks great can’t pick up on black makes. Good luck with the move!

I have this casting SOMEWHERE in my pile of 8 bazillion cars, lol. Blemishes aside? I think it looks fine 🙂
still looks good though
I hope that I can do half as good.
Not bad. 👍

Yes in the states you had red turn signals on the rear and we in the uk had orange as was illegal to have them in red.

I may well do just that!
