I've tightened alternators on cars before. Yup that's how you do it. Needed to see it done on apu though just to make sure it's done right. You did well and yes it's going to help. Thanks

@@dirtroadsalvation It definitely stopped the squealing. Still throwing alt code after 5-6 hours run time. I ordered alternator from thermo by products. My son and I will switch it out when I get home
@@r0adwarri0r90 Did you check the wire connections that attach to the alternator from the wiring harness. those have a tendency to brake off and if that happens all you will need to do is put a new end connector on the wire so it will connect to the alternator. idk if that is your issue or not but it may be worth looking into while replacing the alternator .
You can get a box of the correct torx screws for that at McMaster-Carr. And get yourself a cordless power ratchet. They're like eighty or ninety bucks and it'll change your life.
@@Resistance_is_Futile01 Home Depot and Lowes both have a size testing board for screws and nuts in the hardware section. The exterior screws for a Tripac should be 18-8 Stainless Steel Pan Head Torx Screws, M6 x 1.00 mm Thread Size, 25 mm Long. But check before you place an order.
