Wow! How did I just stumble upon this gem today? I call myself a fan of PT but have never heard this song or know what album it’s on. I have seen them live but this..... this performance is just RIDICULOUS! It’s just so good it makes you lose your mind! OMG...Tomorrow is my 66th birthday and I consider this video the perfect gift! Thank you guys. Your reaction was spot on appropriate in just not even knowing what to do or say. Still smiling...

@@marvsmooth unbelievable... it’s one of MY favorite albums too (can’t lie, I don’t own it) but there it was sure enough, sandwiched in between two of my favorite songs: The Rest Will Flow and Where We Would Be. I managed to download a good collection of PT songs from the old Limewire ‘file sharing’ app and I think Hatesong either just never showed up or I failed to download it. Thanks for enlightening me!

"Cheating The Polygraph" live from Tilburg. Everything about it is outstanding. The vocals, the heavy instruments, the soundscapes.. all the highs and lows... oh and of course Gavin's impeccable beat. It feels more like watching a movie than listening to a song with these guys.

Possibly the best organised chaotic sound I have ever heard. This band is so tight and on time, nothing is left to chance even when they improvise. The BEST jammers there is. All of them. You should continue your journey with them; try - Fear of a Blank Planet (live @Tilburg) or What Happens Now (also, Tilburg). Sleep Together is another mind blowing performance too (again, Tilburg). So many to choose from.

I don't know why danney has to be brought up every time, these two are completely different. I like having because of the attention to small detail, like the way he plays a ghost note or plays quarter notes on a ride cymbal when most people play 8th notes. All that flashy stuff is cool like a 100 hit rip through the tomms or blast beats on the kick drum all stuff gavin can do but chooses not to for the music. Danny on the other hand is great but I just see him as the best rock drummer ever and nothing more.

Interesting, I never knew he was in another group. At the end of the day, I find Porcupine Trees music to be better and I have a feeling these people think so too. Tool is boring to me for the most part, lateralus was good for what it was an 8/10 a little long. The last disc felt like they were trying too hard. The title track off fear inoculum builds up and nothing happens lol. Tool just feel uninspiring to me. Like they get together get all high and never finish lol.

Wonderful stuff- being a progressive rock fan since the late 1960's, I thought nothing much could motivate me as we got into the 80's, until I started listening to Steven Wilsons music in the early 90's- being an avid vinyl collector I also appreciated that he never gave up on the format and I now have most of the LP's he produced especially Porcupine Tree, Bass Communion and Blackfield plus of course his later music published using his own name. Porcupine Tree takes the biscuit though as the music was fabulous, the albums were prolific and so much of it was outstanding.

Porcupine Tree, are fantastic live. They are probably one of the best live bands ever. Steven Wilson is, also one of the best, producers ever. With that said, he would be the 1st to admit, he couldn't recreate, his studio production live. Everyone should marvel, at how close P.T. come to reproducing their albums. With that said, you cannot truly appreciate, one of their tracks, live. It's like viewing a George Lucas story board, or a Looney Toons still panel. You can appreciate it. But it as part, not a whole.
