the BIGGEST mistake i made from listening to all the other business coaches i was paying, they all told me to push for top line revenue so they could inflate their testimonials not really teaching that i should have been ONLY focusing on getting better and PROFITABILITY, optimizing for bottom line instead of top line, this video is on point💯💯

Nice bro that you’re able to recognize your mistakes and yes it’s true this is why mentorships and courses are not as valuable as before. Most of them all sell stuff they don’t even practice.

@@AmericazGotTalentYT not blaming those coaches, im saying the mistake was a personal one on where I was focusing my energy. My energy was directed towards what I was being taught and therefore I didn’t properly reflect on my own experiences and just blindly followed advice. The mistake is my own, not any one elses.

Same here. I started learning to make my own clothes because fashionable & well fitting men's clothing sucks to find (or it's wayyyy too expensive)
I got so absorbed in making things perfect, regarding techniques and quality that I had over 50 people (friends of friends who heard about my hobby) knocking at my door every weekend because they wanted stuff made by me...and I haven't even officially opened a shop or anything.
I've only been doing this for about 10 months. I'm still a tailoring "student" or "apprentice". I'm scared I won't be able to handle this full time.
It started out as just a hobby. Now it's more pressure 🥲

Entrepreneurship is more about self improvement than it is business. Learning “business” is easy - improving yourself to act out why you learn is the hard part - mainly because it takes a lot longer than most are willing to admit.

Instead, let’s just say that’s not the case at present. Self-discipline and general self-improvement sometimes feels like the -only- real challenge.. and man, is it a big one. 😮

I'm highly skeptical of anyone in business, especially people who talk about it online, and especially anything in sales. But this video is exactly the reason why my bullshit meter hasn't gone off for this guy. I've watched hours of his content on my long commutes, and over and over again it's this same stuff. Him preaching that being ethnical in business will make you successful. No shortcuts, no tips and tricks, no fluff, not lying or stealing or getting one over on a person. Just a massive amount of hard work, building a great product/service that is so enriching to a person's life, and being good to the customer so they want to work with you. Thanks Alex. You give me hope that someone who wants to run a business doesn't need to be a piece of shit to succeed.

Many (most?) of us have been conditioned to equate “sales” with being underhanded, deceitful, duplicitous, snake oil etc., but I essentially work in sales (I run a restaurant) and my approach from the very beginning has been to: be extremely honest (ex. I will tell guests what I personally like and dislike on my own menu with zero hesitation, but I will also balance that with letting them know what OTHERS enjoy), let them be without being ever pushy (ex. if someone comes in and only wants fries, I will never try to push a steak or a glass of wine to go with their fries; if that’s all they want, so be it), deliver a great ‘product’ (I’m lumping together service and the food/drinks), if someone doesn’t like something I will almost always drastically reduce, if not completely comp whatever it is that they didn’t like, and I top that off with being friendly, hospitable, easily accessible to help me spearhead quite a successful business, with zero need to cut corners or be a grimy, conniving, lying sack of sh1t just because “sales”.
It’s by doing all of that up above and by adhering to the long game that has led us to success.

Is it possible Alex is a scammer?

But if he is a scammer, he's not giving the major get-rich quick sus advice scammer vibes, so he'd have to be hiding it really well.
His pointers to me so far, seem to align with ethical intelligent principles of business.

I've been running my small automotive business for 16 years, 3 things matter almost entirely in my business, honesty, quality of work, protecting the client from themselves. I dont advertise, I have too much work, I dont want to grow larger. So you could say I'm not ambitious

Good to hear what you said man !! I am from automotive world as well, worked with regular cars , drag racing and Indy cars team ! Now I am trying to make a business around that automotive area but 100% online helping people with specific knowledge that I deeply searched to check a demand for that, but I have to make a decision about how I will do Custumer acquisition you know, Facebook ads, google ads or organic building audience! I have everything ready but this part has been a challenge to me !! Any thoughts, I will definitely appreciate it!!

    • @MicahT-l7p
      @MicahT-l7p 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

@matheuszelada3073 I don't think that is a good business model. It sounds like you are trying to be an internet freelance shop Foreman / consultant. People googling for help with automotive stuff typically are trying to do things themselves because they don't have money to hire someone, so you are already targeting a poor demographic. Theres one or two websites that do this type ofnthing you describe. They charge just a couple bucks to ask a question. I don't think there's a lot of money in it, I dont believe you could make any money without significant scale. Unlike solving people's automotive problems in person, which doesn't require scale to make significant money due to the high margins.

A compendious summary for the video:
    - Focus on improving the quality of your products (to the most painstaking details) , not solely leads.
    - Stick to your promise, don’t diversify too prematurely ( from the problem you initially attempt to solve )
    - Build a trustworthy brand
    - Put up with the exacting nature of product enhancement. Entrepreneurship is a game of will, of discipline and of delayed gratification.

Alex. Youre a GOD bro. I started an etsy store last year with my partner and we have been on a roller coaster. We started to realize that we needed to give the best graphics the best blanks we could afford and the best click through experience to stand out from the sea of mediocre. This year's challenges will undoubtedly be more difficult. Looking back, I realized that I was so focused with my portfolio that I made disastrous financial decisions for the entire preceding year. I had to pick between increasing my investments and purchasing a house. After choosing to sell my investments, I discovered that the property I had purchased required more maintenance than I had anticipated. Trying to find out how much longer I can take this is becoming increasingly difficult.

I love this episode. For the last few years, I have been constantly refining and improving my business, BUT, it was cus I was chasing revenue and made a lot of dumb mistakes along the way, some of them but me in the asse recently. In the past 6 months, I've almost entirely let go of vanity metrics like revenue and just been ruthlessly improving onboarding, delivery, service, ops, comms, systems and backend. To the point where when I get on sales calls, my conviction is waaaay higher now and I close more. Sales has been a challenge and I'm still getting kicked in the teeth daily, but knowing you have a great service that is continuing to improve above all else, gives you a load more confidence to push on the frontend. Thanks again Alex, love these talks 💪

Peterson clip where he was on a talk show talking to a lady and he made a point that in order to think you have to be offensive. People understand that concept and are very willing to offend others to think and to make THEIR POINT, but when it comes to risking offending themselves to think openly and understand reality so many people are too feeble to do it. So prideful because their sense of self comes from their beliefs which creates this loop where you're just constantly reinforcing yourself not able to objectively analyze reality for pursuit of progressing.

I’m a fashion designer and made a bag that was selling a lot I made it different colors and sizes but then I realized I could be making it so much better if I just took it off my site and took my time to redesign it and price it up. I took a major loss doing that but now I have a much better product and once it starts selling again I know it will be an even bigger hit! Good things take time

I'm glad I had parents who were supportive and patient with me when I was building my business, I instinctively worked on quality of my work to new customers over profitability. Slowly but surely, word of mouth goes around and now I focus on getting new jobs while I'm getting my work made from suppliers who match my quality. Guys please you gotta sacrifice a lot of your time over money in the beginning in order to gain customer satisfaction and word of mouth etc. it gets easier later on

I never need to get passed 30 seconds of your video before your dropping gems. For the sake of the new subscribers watch the whole thing. But why go passed it when you clearly give us all we need in 12 seconds lol I’ve seen this in my life so many times.
Once i start to improve everything improves. If I ever stop improving literally everything stops and goes backward it’s crazy.

That is the opposite advice if 'just start' which resonates more with me. Im in the process of building my holiday let management business and am naturally building my knowledge and the back end first before i feel comfortable getting my first client and im doing this intuitively because i want to be able to deliver what i say i can. So the'just start advive is great as long as its just start on building your knowledge and making sure you have you have everything in place before you go looking for customers, otherwise youll be scrambling once you have your customer which could make you look bad and lead to negative referrals. Obviously im certainly no expert but this just seems like the best way to go. Its like the dont run before you can walk saying x

I wouldn't say I accidentally got rich, but I really earned much money by honing in the technical and skill side of things. It became a matter of "you get so good they can't ignore you" which some of you may know that as a book of Cal Newport lol. It's crazy, being rich isn't even an outcome I worked towards, but skills are really just that valuable.

Product is important. UX/CX is important. Wise founders understand that the designers aren’t here to “make it pretty” and they hire them early on.
