It may be my save. But is the Quartz Elemental supposed to respawn? I've slept two weeks with the New Sirocco time skip, seven days normally and only the ores and every other enemy that respawns.
right, I had to test something because of that. I tested Vampiric weapon (Bow) + poltergeist enchantment. This was an interesting test because it makes this bow so much more deadly. especially with skills The bows normal stats are 48dmg 18 impact. leaches blood at 0.1% of damage dealt After the enchantment of poltergeist, the bow only 28 damage but impact is the same at 18. However the menu tells you it always does 14 damage now. *It does not matter how weak you pull the bow to shoot or quickly you shoot it's always 14 damage.* This also changes the blood leach you get as well. As it's always 0.1% x 14 now permanently making the blood leach higher, since your damage is always 14.
Honestly a very unique system that makes enchantments feel like they need to be sought after and earned. With how they handle all of the other magic systems, making them complex and feel like you have to actually learn how to do it. I’ve played for almost 100 hours with my gf, and it’s still our first play through, and we’re very much enjoying the small amount of handholding they have. And even though I had to look this up to understand enchanting, and even though I now know how to, it’s still a process I have to achieve and work towards. Love this game so far, sad I was late to the bandwagon though
I'm in the same boat. Late to the party but this game definitely scratches an itch that nearly no other game can even get close to. There are so many complex systems to interact with and once you get past the blisteringly difficult first few hours, it really pays off. I've been doing horror weapon runs to build up some capital but now I have some much money i feel like there isn't anything to do with it haha what a roller coaster of a game. I live it
Anyone struggling with pillar distancing. Go to Harmattan and go to the top right meeting area/stage. You'll find a compass symbol on the floor inside two circles, one large and one small. These circles are the perfect distance for pillar placement if you place them just outside the edge of the circles.
My guide for this is this: Near: stand inside your table, crouch. And while holding the pillar, move slowly slowly to the correct direction until you can place it. (No longer red) Far: once again, Stand inside your table. Dodge, if you have dodge upgrades, you only need one dodge. But if you have heavy armor and no upgrades, dodge once, walk two steps forward and place the pillar. If you want to do one dodge only: get naked, remove your weapons and drop your backpack and only have the pillar in your pocket. If you are confused about directions, here's an easy tip. Always place your table while you are facing the south direction, this will ensure the table's butterfly always points to the north. The only time I'm having difficulty with enchantment is when the terrain is fucking me over, hills where one pillar ends up too high or not enough space for far pillars. A perfect example of this is Electric Lab enchantments that boost your speed. Why? It's a dungeon, it's full of narrow rooms, the only advantage is it has a railroad that works as a poor man's ruler for enchantments
Enchanting is so easy now, I never knew the recipes by heart before but now I'm learning all the easily accessible ones super fast now that it's such a good way to get an early game powerspike. As always love your vids Sheen!

@sheenshots Does the item retain the original damage after it has been enchanted? For instance, the brutal club base model inflicts confussion, while it still inflict confussion or does that go away and only the enchantments are no on the weapon?
So the answer to your question is yes. Items will retain their damage and other stats after being enchanted. However, there are some exceptions to this. Some enchants will change your weapon and also balance it by decreasing the current damage. One example is poltergeist. It adds Raw damage to your weapon that will cut through everything. To balance this, the enchant also decreases your weapons physical damage by a percentage. This will not affect things like confusion, pain, burning as they never get taken off of weapons that have those.

Having a certain number of barrier protects you from the insect cloud. Getting hit by the hive could still infect you so be careful. You need like 6 barrier I think. Panacea potion, or a fungal cleanser food can cure it.
You will need to enchant a weapon with Forge Fire to get it to explode on contact. If you want to shoot with your melee you need an imbue or varnish on and Elemental discharge. You can enchant any virgin weapon with Forge Fire. This causes it to deal a fire explosion which is great for impact. Here is a link to the wiki for more details: outward.fandom.com/wiki/Forge_Fire
I think it either just changes and does not keep the enchant, or doesn't change and keeps the enchant. Iron knuckles can be enchanted with unsuspected strength and it will pass on to the gold version when legacied. I think that one is the only exception though.
That is the forge fire enchant. It can be placed on any virgin weapon and I will leave this link below for all the specific details if you are interested. outward.fandom.com/wiki/Forge_Fire
Depends on your skills/build backpack + heavy armor = too small dodge distance, unless you have both upgrades for less armor burden and no backpack penalty. If you want consistent results. ENCHANT WHILE NAKED.
The fact that we need to do speedrun like setups to get the positioning right for the pillars is really stupid. I'm back here, AGAIN to see how far exactly I'm supposed to place them. It's asinine.
Here's a pro gamer tip: Play the game, experiment, discover, make your own setups. I refused to commit the "roll and 3 steps" setup, as it seemed really stupid for me too, but I KNEW that this was just one of many possible setups. So, when it was time for me to make my first enchanted tunic, I fumbled with the pillars for a good five minutes, until I discovered this: starting from the enchanting altar, and facing the direction needed, count ten paces towards that direction. I play on a controller, so I'd tilt the stick half way in order to walk. This might not work great if you play on a keyboard, but perhaps 8 paces at full speed, or 12 paces while crouching, should have a similar effect. If it doesn't work, guess what, this is the perfect opportunity to go and make your own setup, one that you don't find "asinine". Just don't blame the rest of us if you are too dense to figure something out that works for you, respectfully.
It is quite confusing feels like way to much at first. Once you get into it the system is very rewarding. Although depending on the enchant it can be tedious regardless.
The system is quite confusing at first trust me lol. Until you get your hands on some of the materials and play around with it, this seems like just a bunch of words.
If you ever look through the possible enchants through the wiki its looks insane. There are a ridiculous number of enchants. Some of which make the game a joke when used correctly.
Honestly I love it, a lot of it is IRL alchemic beliefs or at least very reminiscent of it. I've only recently gotten into this game but I see it as a love letter to the genre.
Probably the worst enchanting system, I've ever seen. If the dev's goal was to make it the most obscure, time consuming and annoying, they have succeeded like no other.
It is frustrating and confusion at first. Especially if you want to enchant your gear right off the bat. But because there are so many enchants and you eventually find particles much faster, it turns into a system that is unique and sort of fun in its own way.
Sorry its not like Skyrim where any moron can walk up to a table with a skiver soul gem and enchant a weapon with instant nut projection whenever it hits an enemy.
Found a newbie right here. The enchanting here makes me feel like an evil genius. A warlock final boss doing some complex ritual in front of the heroes whose puny brains cannot grasp. Elder Scrolls Enchantment: eh.. it's a thing Outward Enchantment: Sun of the East, Wind of the North, grant my lantern eternal flame. At the end, what do you get? Heavy armor set that only costs 3% movement speed penalty (mind you most heavy armor in full set gives you double digit worth of speed penalty). A bow whose combined with that gatling arrow skill causes a guaranteed Frozen/Burning or worse: Decay debuff. An unblockable weapon that is guaranteed to still do 30 damage even if you try to block it. Unlimited Lantern, or tired of boring old flamethrower lanterns? How about an electric/freezing/toxic lantern? Complete immunity to a specific status effect? Yes please. Poise/posture so tough you have to wonder who is actually the boss of the area? Them or you? Near unlimited magic spam. And I forgot I am hungry/tired/sleepy or I don't feel cold/hot in here for several days now. (Allowing you to save on food/sleep and adventure near endlessly)
It seems that you can't replace or undo an enchantment. So be careful enchanting unique items as you won't be able to find a replacement for them.

PS4 actually does not have definitive Edition. It is only available for more recent consoles. And this would add that dreamers root and enemies.
What build were you using that made the sword swings explode ?
You can enchant any virgin weapon with Forge Fire. This causes it to deal a fire explosion which is great for impact. Here is a link to the wiki for more details:

@@SheenShots thank you!
Is there a limit for how many times you can enchant an item?
Yes, each item can only be enchanted once. But you can always enchant multiple of the same items or enchant as many items as you want.
What if i try make savage weapon from enchanted iron?
I think it either just changes and does not keep the enchant, or doesn't change and keeps the enchant. Iron knuckles can be enchanted with unsuspected strength and it will pass on to the gold version when legacied. I think that one is the only exception though.
How does your sword shot fireballs like that?
That is the forge fire enchant. It can be placed on any virgin weapon and I will leave this link below for all the specific details if you are interested.

@@SheenShots Thanks!
Anyone else not having achievements unlock when enchanting? Not sure why, I’ve successfully enchanted plenty of items.
Thanks 🎉🙏🏻🙏🏻
Anytime lol.
Thanks!
It's more like 2 steps after a Dodge, my pillars were always too far away
I often find if I messed it up its because I went like a step or two too far.
Thank you
Heck ya. Glad to help.

This is the most Re*arded enchanting system in any game ever
It is quite confusing feels like way to much at first. Once you get into it the system is very rewarding. Although depending on the enchant it can be tedious regardless.
What I understood :
Nada
The system is quite confusing at first trust me lol. Until you get your hands on some of the materials and play around with it, this seems like just a bunch of words.
Good video. Helps. But I disagree with you. It is neither easy or fun. I struggle bad with the near/far placement stuff.
great
This game really has some unique Elements too bad more than half of them are more of a burden than anything....
If you ever look through the possible enchants through the wiki its looks insane. There are a ridiculous number of enchants. Some of which make the game a joke when used correctly.
Outward is ridiculous for this enchant system dudes need to lay off the shrooms IRL
Well some enchantments are quite strong so it better be pretty hard to get them or else they are op
Found a newbie right here. The enchanting here makes me feel like an evil genius. A warlock final boss doing some complex ritual in front of the heroes whose puny brains cannot grasp.
Elder Scrolls Enchantment: eh.. it's a thing
Outward Enchantment: Sun of the East, Wind of the North, grant my lantern eternal flame.
It's good though, instead of just throw and enchanted stone at an item and selecting something you actually need to go on a quest, as intended
