  • Outward can be difficult, but these builds can get you started in a way you have never played the game before. These are not full builds. They are simply the best of the best when it comes to weapons and armor at the beginning of Outward. I paired up different styles of weapons to match the playstyles of any Outward Player. This is before Definitive Edition, so these should stand forever, but who knows what might change. Check out the full video for some epic fights and awesome tips and tricks. Catch you in Outward!
    Outward is an RPG/survival game that allows you take to make an almost infinite number of builds. Melee, magic, archery, and even traps are scattered across this harsh world in the form of skills. You must have a large amount of money to purchase these skills, but luckily the monsters drop extremely valuable items. The game has been harshly criticized due to how realistic and difficult it is. Feel free to subscribe and watch me beat the crap out of some crazy monsters.

    You could also upgrade the leather armor to scaled leather armor for the damage bonus. There is a little under 40 percent chance to get scales from the soroborean trader in cierzo and 50 percent chance if you find the wandering trader outside. You get 15 percent more damage resistance and keep the pouch bonus. You do lose the 20 cold defense tho. I think it's worth it since cold resistance is easy to craft through potion or food.

      Most of the time it doesn't even snow in Chersonese for quite some time meaning it isn't that useful anyway. Great add-on to the leather armor!

    I'm going to say that The Mage is an amazing starting magic build, heck it's basically what I always start as on mage builds! Good amount of mana, scholar set is a must have, flamethrower is amazing and lanterns and torches are cheap to carry around and make! However I have some additional advice for those who want to follow The Mage:
    1. Since you're going to use a lot of fire damage you might want to consider carrying a few Warm Potions on you to boost your damage. And heck, since you're carrying those you may as well bring a few Fire Rags as well just to boost your melee damage the same way if you need to.
    2. If you plan to use the lanterns, you'll probably also want to carry some extra thick oil in your backpack just to repair them in the wild.
    3. Sigil of Fire vs. Reveal Soul, this is going to be a long one. there's a lot to go on this choice actually, but I recommend the Sigil. Firstly, getting the spell for free *in Chersonese* is nice. Mana regeneration items are easy to make and come by especially around Conflux Mountain (you can just eat raw Turmmips if you're desperate). Reveal Soul is inside Chersonese to buy as well, past The Ghost Fort, unlike Fire sigil which is in the swamp city (The Ghost Fort is also easy to traverse with fire magic anyway so :P). Thick oil is abundant and cheap to buy if you don't just find it in loot and oil wells. And since you're in Conflux Mountain already, you're going to get a lot of Mana Stones which you can use to make into said Fire Stones. Lastly, Warm Potions will affect the spells made with Sigil of Fire (Spark and Flint & Steel).
    HOWEVER, reveal soul is also good for two regards; you can get it for free, and *you won't need to carry mana potions, or even mana regenerating food* , just find a body, use Reveal Soul and Spark, and boom you get nearly half your max mana back.
    TLDR: Fire Sigil for mad damage and stomping through ghost fort for reveal soul, or Reveal soul for massive mana restoration from corpses.
    4. Do you have Cold Stones? have a Torch? Iron Scrap? Make Ice-Flame Torches! now your flamethrower skill can deal ice damage and slow enemies! Considering right under the Flamethrower teacher is *another* watcher that teaches you the Cold Boon for 50 silver? And Cold Rags are one of the most inexpensive imbues to buy or craft for your weapons? yeah, you're gunna have a fun time >:P
    as a bonus note to all of this advice, I have one more that just helps anyone but mages really get a lot of love with this due to their elemental affinity:
    I recommend mages start with the Primitive Club/Iron Mace/Fang Mace. Mace Infusion actually blocks ANY ATTACK, melee, magic, or even arrows! Considering Mages are going to have a lot of elemental buffs and imbues just for their spells? Having a pocket spell shield that can use your opponents magic against them in attack and defense, for free, is amazing!
    Not to mention Maces are really good at protecting you from scarier melee enemies since you'll stagger them much faster then most of them will stagger you.
    In hindsight, this is a lot of advice and information for one comment, but I hope those curious find it alongside this video, and learn a lot to help ease the challenge of their own adventures! Best of luck to one and all who play this game, and welcome to Outward!

      There are plenty of armor sets to choose from, but I would probably go with silver or palladium armor from the blacksmith in Monsoon. It has amazing decay resistance as well as good protection. You will lose you damage bonus, but that is not as important with better weapons.
      Later on you can craft the slayer set in Caldera but it requires killing some more difficult enemies so very much a later game build.
      As far as the halberd goes you could get the tsar on if you take cabal hermit for wind infuse. Really strong.
      Grab enrage and focus from Berg and Monsoon and your moonswipe triples in damage.

    anyhoo, you can actually use flamethrower on other left hand light sources, like the Iceflame torch, which is easy to make even early game if you have a cold stone, and has 500 durability so it lasts long as a dmg source. i would assume it would also work with the coil lantern for lighting dmg, but i’ve never tried it and there is no info on it as no one has seemingly tried it either. either way, you are unlikely to find one early game, but someone with one should still give it a try to see if it works or not.

      Should still work with a coil lantern, but that is weird that I haven't heard of anyone trying it. Something else I need to check out now lol.

    Something for the mage quick build if short on money buy the scholar circlet and boots then run to berg talk to Risa and say you want to join she will tell you to get a sponsor got talk to Julius Sutherland by the steps up to the Blue chamber and if you have mana which you will he will sponsor you and give blue clansage robes for free. You don't have to continue and join the blue chamber if you don't want.

    People really sleep on mace infusion. It’s the best source of decent, early-game melee damage, and lets you just eat an elemental attack of any kind

    • @SheenShots
      @SheenShots  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On of my favorite things to grab early on as it makes fighting ghosts extremely easy.

    Also why do you never make potions you know a star mushroom a Turmmip and water make a mana potions well its called astral potion then you take that astral potion and ghost eyes to make a great astral potion.

    • @SheenShots
      @SheenShots  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is indeed a roadblock for me. I either forget when I am in town and sell the stuff or I just never have the alchemy kit. Once I own a house I usually do more.

    • @KainYusanagi
      @KainYusanagi ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SheenShots To be fair, the total regeneration of eating either of them is going to be more than an astral potion. Given that you're using 3 points for the build, an Astral Potion will regenerate 30 mana. Both Turmmip and Star Mushroom give you Mana Ratio Recovery 2, which is 0.2%/second over 600 seconds. That's the equivalent of 120%. The benefit of the Astral Potion is that it dumps that 30 mana into your pool immediately, while it'd take 250 seconds to reach 50% mana return. Good for mana restoration during long-term travel, not so great when you're in the thick of things and need mana *now*. Especially since all it takes is a Ghost Eye to upgrade from a basic Astral Potion to a Great Astral Potion, for 100% mana restoration instantly.

      @@SheenShots ok so the build is called anti-mage no magic required (though I also do like to use two points of magic for touch hex spells and infusions) so you are going to want spellblades awakening and get gong strike with shield charge then get to mercenary tree shield infusion and then the warrior monk tree or the speedster tree (I need to test if blocking with a shield counts as being hit if so I'll just do monk tree) also use scale armor or ammolite armor

    • @corinthiansdaniels3728

      @@corinthiansdaniels3728 Ah yes Gong strike can be very good. Honestly, scale armor might be better since you have a shield and will hopefully block more damage than you will need to take. What weapon would you think of pairing with this? I do like the warrior monk tree here btw.
