Thanks for showing and commenting on this vid. Personally, I would greatly appreciate more Rome 2 content. I'm not really a Warhammer fan, although I recognize many players are.
Congrats man! :D never knew you had a baby! I just "joined" the channel about a week ago, and since then your channel is one of the best that I've ever subbed to!
Fear the spears? I fear no spears. "Hoplites Ready" Ah shit, not again. Please no, I just want to do the shootsy dootsy, y u gotta have great shields and armor?
Congrats and good luck heir!! I myself have a 6 week old with a 19 month old. So I'm right there with you. Your awesome and I love watching you and your videos!
I've seen this before, and I'd like to offer a counter build. Pontus. like walls to block off the Sushi charge, spears to drive off the scout riders with thueros behind them.
In 1v1s ans 2v2s where maps are open and France has space to maneuver it's units then yes, it is powerfull but it isn't like they are so much better than every other faction. France is also very high skill capped to make it effective as it requires you to attack very aggresively to use France's full potential. In 3v3s and 4v4s however, there is much less space for the armies and armies are several lines deep so quick attack to open up a flank is almost impossible there and since French armies are often more elite and less numerous they are a very easy target. 3v3s and 4v4s are also heavily dominated by light infantry and France's isn't very good. That's why you see a lot of Prussia there, due to their perfect balance and various unit types they are good in every situation you may encounter in the battle while France's playstyle is rather telegraphed and therefore easy to counter. I see you have a lot to learn ;) Maybe Heir can help you by making similar content to this one but on Napoleon.
I see your reasoning, the way I see it is that France has cheaper lights with more men in the unit. What this means is even if they have less range you rush up to the enemy lights and discharge all the rifles causing a deadly volley. Chasseurs have more men than Jäger or Silesian Schützen though they trade off by being of inferior quality. This goes to the French advantage unless the skirmish takes place with a river in between or any othe obstacle, where the better range usually is the key to winning the engagement.
Prussia and Great Britain have their own light infantry units that are equal in men to Chasseurs but are also better quality. France has super cheap voltiguers with even less men but still with 100 range. Light infantry just isn't their strenght. I love Napoleon's balance because every country has it's unique set of strengths and weaknesses despite them all being from one culture (excluding Ottomans). The replay I sent to Heir features very unique strategy that makes France viable in 3v3 by using it's strenghts in uncommon way.
I did't actually know that you had a baby but congrats! Now would you consider doing a Royal Scytia Campaign? ive been looking for good videos on a scythian campaign but i havent actually found any good ones so it woyld be cool if you could play any of the nomad factions in rome 2
Maybe the other player should have just ignored the scout riders after they ran out of ammo. Except pinning down your troops for a second there is not really much they can do at that point.
On turney vs player that knows what they are doing.... There is no winning VS Massagetea...... absolutly no chances suebi can beat a well tough and well used massagetea build.
It didn't help the nomad player that he has no idea how to react. When you're faced with those thin lines you just charge. Don't prolong the fight. Sacrifice your mussel cab against his and go all out on the internet line. Don't play reactively as nomads, EVER!!!
This replay doesn't illustrate the issue presented well. The nomad player was just clearly a lot less skilled player, he didn't know what to do at all, very poor decision making. Unless those battles are between equally skilled opponents, they are pretty much pointless. This strategy worked only because Suebi player had superior micro and the other guy was a noob so it doesn't proove a point made at the beginning. If I take army full of spears and my enemy takes army full of swords and I end up winning by heavily outmicroing him will it mean that spears are counter to swords and everybody should use it because I've just prooven that this is the best counter?
totally agree the bad thing is that this guy's replays are all the same, trying to prove that something is good by going in random games and playing vs random opponents. If this was in tournament yes it would mean a lot but this is inconclusive testing. PS:The nomad pick was rly rly bad, spamming cheap easily to get killed shock cav vs cav counter tactic is a give away win.No saka catas,no elite ha,even no 150 range ha,this battle would have never went to nomad favour EVEN if they putplayed suebi, just the pick was rly rly bad
I thought I was voicing an unpopular opinion here and will get lost in the comments by downvoting but it appears a lot of people actually agree on that matter. The battle doesn't have to come from a tournament, there might be bad players too.
Well yes but in tournament even the noobs will never pick suebi vs massagetae or any other nomadic faction. The counter to them is actually heavy cav build with parthia/Armenia(I know this because I beated Greek Iraklis's nomads in test battles with parthia)
Congrats on a second heir, Heir.
Heir cubed.
Congrats heir; now your line is secure
Now he just needs to use them actively and ensure they get positive traits.

Oh Heir, please teach us how to make France viable in 3v3s in Napoleon!
Isn't France the most powerful faction in Napoleon Total War?
yes it is
In 1v1s ans 2v2s where maps are open and France has space to maneuver it's units then yes, it is powerfull but it isn't like they are so much better than every other faction. Hello are u using mods because i want to play online battles too but often they say that they have different versions
Maybe the other player should have just ignored the scout riders after they ran out of ammo. Except pinning down your troops for a second there is not really much they can do at that point.
Oh I wanna see the Getae, they're the ancestors of people in my country :D
On turney vs player that knows what they are doing.... There is no winning VS Massagetea...... absolutly no chances suebi can beat a well tough and well used massagetea build.
