Our TPMS Saved EVERYTHING we own.

  • Our TPMS (Tire Pressure Monitoring System) was literally the very first thing that we bought when we decided to live the full time RV life. We bought it before we bought our coach! That's how important this is to us. THAT SAID, for 3 1/2 years the TPMS has lived in the background, just kinda "there", something that I monitor as we travel, but don't pay much more attention to it than that. Last week it saved, most certainly, our car and probably the Goldwing and our coach as well. Had the front end of the car caught fire I likely may not have been able to unhook the car and where we were, FD response would have taken forever. Needless to say, we are very thankful.
We Hope to See YOU, Out HERE! 2 US, -ALL OF US!
Here are the direct Amazon links to everything in the video:
**EEZ Tire TPMS- (this is for a SINGLE axle coach with a toad (10 sensors), there are several options depending on the number of sensors that you need, a tag coach needs 12 sensors) : amzn.to/43KSEp7
    **AI Digital Tire Inflator/Gauge: amzn.to/41rFE6u
    **Digital Laser Temperature Gauge: amzn.to/3oxumz2
    **20 Count 3V #1632 Button Batteries: amzn.to/3MXBI8Y
We link the Amazon platform as often as possible, and in that platform, we will do our best to link products directly to the manufacturer of the product as most have Amazon stores. We only link products that we actually USE and like, and are in no way paid or compensated to promote anything that we list. We list things because they add value to our life and journey and feel that may add value to yours. We are in the Amazon Associates program, we may, or not, receive a VERY small percentage of any sales initiated through our links, THIS COMES AT ABSOLUTELY NO ADDITIONAL COST TO YOU.

Yep, I have a Tire Minder TPMS. I would guess your rooter was a lot hotter then when you got back to check it with your temp gun. Just a hint, run your car tires 5 psi within the max pressure on the tire. Less friction so they run cooler and last longer. Did you find out why your caliper was hanging up?

I did a little mechanical sleuthing lol, and THIS is why we are not a bigger channel 😂 I even told Joy that we should be recording this, but I am way too "in the moment" and focused on fixing the issue, the big guys have several GoPros going ALL THE TIME lol, we do not. For me, I'd have to dig it all out, get the proper tripod for the proper angle etc etc etc, maybe someday I'll be there... Back to your question, using the temperature gun I checked everything, bearings, driveshaft, caliper, rotor (BOTH in and out sides) and the pads, (BOTH in and outsides) the inside pad and inside rotor surface were far hotter than anything else. I jacked the car up took the tire off, popped the caliper off, seated both pistons back in the caliper and reassembled. I kept a good eye on that temp, pulled over about a 1/2 hr. later and rechecked with the temp gun. I have no idea why it happened, it hasn't happened since. The car is a 2012 CR-V, but... May of last year, 2022, I replaced ALL the pads, calipers AND rubber flex hoses (now that I type this, I'm wondering if the flex hose got pinched, HIGHLY unlikely, but outside of dirt in the piston not allowing it to retract fully, I have absolutely no idea what happened, so I'll be checking that)

@@2ustravels77 Maybe dirt or pebble...what you have said in the front end is why I don't want to mess with doing YT. I have a YT channel with very basic drone videos that I have taken for friends and family and that's it. It's Timaz.

@@timaz1066 exactly, YT is not a lifestyle or a living for us, honestly, it's WAY more effort than its worth financially. I am a busy type dude, I HATE just sitting, even when I say that i'm just going to take a day to relax, that lasts about 3 hours 😂 So if I can help someone thats awesome. Its great to keep our families up with what we are doing, and I just don't have it in me to put out crappy videos, so here I am, learning to polish a turd!
