What a beautiful song...the words so powerful...like incense, it's a prayer that rises to Him as we look to Christ for Grace and strength.
I have heard Rita sing this in Bucharest and in St Patrick's Cathedral, Dublin, but this Powerscourt version is my favourite recording of the piece. Profound truth sung beautifully! I heard this afternoon that an Irish friend is in hospital and this was the obvious link to send him!

Just saw this lady sing at Cooke park while his holiness pope Francis was visiting ireland during the world meeting of families.... what a beautiful voice, so clear and distinct yet melodious ... in my humble opinion,, I’m very moved by this performance and I’m a new fan of this wonderful voice ☺️

I discovered this years ago when it was on a free Celtic compilation CD in The Sunday Times. It is quite exquisite. I'm not a religious person (by far) but this never fails to move me.
Me too. Now my father has died and the song came to mind from that distant time. We will print St Patrick’s Breastplate on his memory card and hopefully sing this beautiful blessing during his funeral Mass.
To be moved by beauty is Religion. All that other stuff is mostly "noise."
