More recent memory serves to provide the tales for which Slane is most famous. It is said that in the Fifth century A.D. Saint Patrick came to the Hill of Slane early in his attempt to convert pagan Ireland to the light of christianity. On the eve of the Christian feast of Easter, 433 A.D. which appropriately coincides with the pagan feast of Beltane and the spring equinox, St. Patrick lit a bonfire upon the Hill of Slane. The law in force at the time was no fire should lit in the in the vicinity when a great festival fire blazed at the Royal seat of power on the visibly nearby Hill of Tara.
The King rode off in a war chariot with his retinue to arrest the mystery rebel. As the kings horses thundered up the Hill Patrick calmed his few disciples and immediately set to eloquence. Patrick's gift of eloquence went to high gear and somehow--some say through an earthquake, others by holding up a shamrock--he convinced the King of his earnest intent and belief in the power of the Holy Trinity. It was a power that Patrick thought would be useful to the King who could only wish that his own soldiers could wield the kind of bravery through deep conviction that Patrick displayed. The King took Patrick and his disciples prisoner and they were marched by to the Hill of Tara, chanting prayers. By morning light, Patrick and his men were spared and allowed to preach Christianity to the pagan army.
On October 20, 2009, Angelina and her family lost a dear friend who introduced this song to Angelina when she was just 12 years of age. Monsignor Andrew L. Murray, of the Biloxi Diocese handed Angelina the CD and asked her to listen to the song. "I think you will like it and you could sing it", he said. Angelina loved the song and went on to sing it for very special occasions for Father. One occasion was at the Carlow Mass held each year to celebrate the Irish priest that came to Mississippi from Carlow Seminary in Ireland. Angelina had the opportunity to go to Ireland and film the video. Father Murray lost his battle with COPD, a long and hard fight he gave. He will always be remembered and cherished in the Davis' hearts. May God hold you in the palm of His Hand Father.
From the Wake Up Call and Songs of the Faithful CD's. I was blessed to have had the opportunity to travel to the Hill of Slane in County Meath to film this beautiful song. Also, I went over to the very famous Grafton Street in Dublin. This video was shot in one day and my thanks go out to my director Manuel DeTeffe of Rome for his creativity. Arrangement by Shaun Davey, mechanical and synch license obtained thru HFA.

This beautiful prayer has helped me though so many challenges. We are blessed by this wonderful singer who brings this holy prayer to us in such a special way from the very place it was first sung, Ireland.

Dear Jim, the distractions of this world, the scandals of the Catholic Church at the hands of the Freemasons and Zionists, the lack of respect that Catholics now garner as a result, the slandering of Catholicism by the Zionists and Freemasons through the school system and media - none of that changes the fact that Jesus Christ is Lord and that, without Him, we will end up in Hell. The 4 last things (Death, Judgement, Purgatory/Heaven or Hell) still apply. Those who have taken over our Church will pay such a grave price for causing so many "little ones" to sin that it would have been better for them to never have existed.
The way of the Lord is not about achieving our earthly goals nor desires. And, I am also reminding myself of this as I write you. It is not about our asking for something and getting it. It is about our dying unto self in order to open our hearts to the Lord and being the salt of the Earth.
When you hear the voice of the Lord, harden not your hearts. The Lord is reaching out to you every day. And, today is no exception. God loves us so much. But we do not always feel His love, do we? It is not because He doesn't love us. It is because of our sin. The Good news is that God the Father sent His only begotten Son to save us and our fellow humans from our sin. Recall that we are the temple of the Holy Spirit. Ask the Lord to reside within you today. And, I am going to life you up at Mass this morning.
The peace and power of the Lord be with you always. Amen.

I was sharing a picture of two pure white deer on Facebook, and was inspired to look for a TH-cam video of "As the Deer Panteth for the Water" - based on Psalm 42. I found a group called Salvador singing it, and posted it in a comment on the picture. When that song was done, I scrolled down the page here on TH-cam and came across this. I have watched this video over the years. It struck me today that the quality of the video has been degraded from what it was initially. Is this TH-cam's doing? Just wondering. The crucifix she wears is not clearly seen anymore and in some segments is not seen at all. Can't help but wonder who has modified clarity?

thank you! She does have a bit of Irish in her, but she is American born. The song appears as "The Deer's Cry" and is on several of her albums. They are"Wake Up Call" and "The Songs of the Faithful", CD and DVD.
Angelina grew up with the loving influence of Irish born nuns and priest in our area. We have traveled to Ireland on many occasions and it is one of her favorite places to visit when she is taking a holiday! : )
