    The shots were lower at 7 yards due to the difference in the bore centerline and optic center line being apart. The closer you are ,the more the difference in offset will be apparent. I set the sight to be center of dot at 7 yards and set the target dot at 12 o'clock on top of the optic sight at 20 yards. Especially if using a larger moa dot.

    When you move from 15 yards to 7 yards the shots will arrive lower than your aim point because the of the height delta from the barrel to red dot. If you're gap between the red dot and barrel is about 1 inch, then if you zero at 15, and the 7 yard group is within 0.5 inches I'd call it good.

      The mr920 is compatible with all glock gen 3-4 parts. They use a proprietary magewell and bagstrap system that allows you to change grip angle, so those are the only two things I can think of that aren't. The cover plate for the optic cut is proprietary also, but everything else I believe is gen 3-4 compatible

    Hi Trever, Do I need to change my factory front & rear sights when using red dot on my pistol or does it depend on the make or model of red dot. Pistol would be G48. Thanks for any info. Great video.

    • @ShadowSystemsCorp
      @ShadowSystemsCorp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Michael, the answer to that question is...it depends. Keep in mind, the red dot is an independent sighting system; you don’t actually “need” iron sights. But most shooters choose to have iron sights as a back up. Those sights can be “co-witnessed” through the glass-the idea is that if the dot fails, you can still use the iron sights. If your stock sights are tall enough to see over the body of the sight, you don’t need to change anything. If, however, your optic cut doesn’t mount the sight low enough to look over it with the sights, and you want a co-witness, you will need to replace the irons. Not all optics are the same height so it does depend on what you choose. For example, an RMR has a lower profile body than a Delta Point Pro-so sights that co-witness with the RMR might not with the Delta Point Pro. Hope that helps. Trevor

    • @ShadowSystemsCorp
      @ShadowSystemsCorp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Hi Rock, yes 15 yards seems the right distance for most folks. It is far enough to reveal the true vertical position of the group (which you might not see at 7 yds), most people can shoot a good group at 15 (harder at 25--maybe too much variation), and a zero at 15 gives you reasonable poa vs. poi spread out to as far as you might shoot a pistol. Shoot safe!

      Hi Benedict. It should like the mount is not parallel to the barrel and you have run out of internal adjustment within the optic. This might be a question you have to refer to the manufacturer of the mount. Sorry we can't be more helpful.

    • @Ghostdogsurvivalist
      @Ghostdogsurvivalist 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      A little late to the discussion. Assume your Glock was shooting to point of aim with iron sights. With the Glock MOS system you use the #2 plate. You must use the small screws that come with the plate package and NOT the screws that hold down the factory cover. They should rest slightly below the surface of the plate when installed. If you use the screws that came with the cover the optic will not seat properly. Place the Holosun on the plate over the front posts of the plate. It should sit flat with no space between the sight and the plate as the plate should not have space between it and the slide. Use the short screws provided by Holosun. The long ones are for the Picatinny rail. If you use the long ones it can raise the rear of the optic aiming the sight down causing the point of impact to be high. If you used the long ones it may have also have bent the plate, optic or both. If the installation is correct the only other options other than shooter error are bad optic or bad milling of the slide. Hope this helps if in time.

    Why my 507k adjustment is reversed? When I click the R should click for right but it goes opposite to the left? And when I click U direction up, it goes down. Can’t figure it out

    • @ShadowSystemsCorp
      @ShadowSystemsCorp  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This can create some confusion if you are looking at the dot and reporting the direction the DOT moves. The screws move the impact of the bullet, which his the opposite movement for the dot itself in the window. For example, if you are aiming at the center of the target with the dot, but the rounds are hitting to the left, turning the adjustment screw in the R direction moves the shots to the RIGHT. The sight accomplishes that by moving the dot to the LEFT. With the dot biased to the left from where it was before, the shooter places the adjusted dot on the target. In so doing, the pistol is being moved to the right which moves the shots to the right from where they were before and they hit the point of aim location.

    Great job on the video. So here’s a question. If you started out with the red dot in the middle of the site…. The next steps you moved the dot 4 clicks to the right and 4 clicks up. So that just moved your dot out of the middle. The. You moved it (adjusted) it again to the right or something…
    So long story short now I’m guessing it’s not anywhere in the center anymore. So am i thinking about that the right way? You’ve been moving the dot every time away from the middle

    • @kymerdeth
      @kymerdeth 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I had the same thoughts when I first started using a red dot, Coloin Noir has a video where he is learning how to use a red dot, should be easy to find. One of the drills he had was putting the red dot on target then using his head to move the red dot to upper left, right, down, center etc, you don't need to have the red dot in center of window. Once its zero is to the red dot, where the dot is, is where the bullet goes. It is a good drill to do because you learn too not have to have the dot dead in the center. I think that is what you where getting at? I'm no expert but this helped me learning it does not work the same as a scope.

    • @davidholt4216
