The biggest update would consist of, custom icons, change fonts on iPhone, update apple keyboard number row and accents on each key.

@@mikldude9376 I actually had 3000+ system hours on my Samsung a8 2018(which got interrupted by me not charging the phone in time😂. on my iphone 13 if I don't reset my phone regularly it starts to lag even on the home screen...

Apple make big changes to iOS though. It’s just not on the surface because let’s face it, iOS it’s at its peak and why fix it when it’s not broken?
I've seen a lot of people say this but I can't remember a single time(besides iOS 7) an iOS update has been called "the biggest update in history", last year for example they said iOS 17 was a very small update up until May, then it changed to being a regular sized update, iOS 16 was also called a smaller update and a "bugfix update"

@@fusionxframes. iPadOS has multitasking. iOS doesn’t need multitasking. Apple knows most people don’t use multitasking. Especially on a small screen. Makes sense to keep it for a bigger screen.
All this AI stuff isn’t even exciting. I would be more stoked for a better looking GUI and security updates. Give us an option to configure things natively like DOH and a more secure way to keep our account safe if our phone is stolen or gets in the wrong hands.

ya it would be way better if they gave you nothing year over year. Why bother with new software. just stay at iOS 17 forever. Apple can then fire all those expensive software developers. no one wants 150 new features. no one will use them .
I believe I speak on behalf of so many people when I say that I am hoping for a MASSIVE iOS 18 Redesign, not just AI stuff, but more customisable options is a must, a change to the icons and how iOS works in general is welcome. Just want to see something new and not just old old old, android has the better OS system atm.
Respectfully, why not switch to android if you think the OS is better? Part of what makes iOS great is that it's consistent and simple, Apple knows this and I think they're aware that a full redesign would be a bigger risk than reward for them

I have tried many times to turn to a different OS but with iOS being simpler to navigate and many other downsides to android when using brands such as One Plus, Samsung, Sony - I've never lasted longer than a month on any of these phones before switching back to iPhone. iOS is not at it's peak, a lot can be done with iOS, and even iPad OS... Here's to hoping iOS 18, is the iOS update we've all been waiting for!

The problem with the modern phones is that the AI will become integral to the use of those devices and the manufacturers therefore have you in a corner when they decide that now as with the s24 ultra you have to subscribe to keep those features.
Good point , even if you buy a Samsung washing machine, to use all the features you have to have a Samsung account and phone , it’s getting that way , unless you pay extra you don’t get the features, just like Samsung going to charge for the AI features on the phone.

Yeah... "major" Redesign... The Transparency and Glass effects was added in the macOS Back in OSX Leopard (2007 !!!)and The iOS had them until iOS 7and then, some Clown wanted a Flat design and forced Scott out and Now they bring Transparency and Glass effects back.
Truth to be told i missed skeuomorphic design and the glass/transparent effects the old operating systems had
What about the ability to change themes? I know that there is a way to do this using shortcut app but what about the ability itself to use themes in general? Like android? Perhaps I know apple is fully capable of doing it but implementing it in a "Apple" way is questionable. Things can be fun and all till some stuff becomes a reality.

iOS doesn’t need a refresh, it needs a major overhaul, some elements of iOS aren’t very intuitive, things like the camera app is pants, Apple Maps is woefully bad, & more customisation would be welcome, like changing the App icon grid size to 5 across

I don’t want AI, I want to ability to multitask and customise icons, and be able to put them wherever I want on the screen. You know, things android have had for about 10 years! iPhone’s having such powerful hardware is absolutely pointless at the moment, they do nothing to even use 10% of the power.

It's not like they can't get it to work, they don't want to, so how is "they've had it for 10 years" relevant at all? Also you clearly have no idea what requires power and not
@@BobRossRightHand I'd say I'm fairly familiar with what requires power, being as I've been in the tech world a long time. It doesn't take a genius to work out it if a $100 android phone can do multitasking and move icons on the home screen, then the latest apple silicon chip can. The last 4 iPhones have had no discernible difference in use, because nothing the phone does uses the full power of the silicon. The only thing that pushes it are the new console quality games (of which I believe there are only 2) you can play on the 15 pro series. But who is realistically going to use their iPhone as a gaming console? I'd rather them focus on things people will use daily, like customisation. You've also missed the point, my grievance with apple is exactly what you said, they don't want to give people what they want. Have you seen the extreme amount of work required to just change icons? It's laughable. Why can't I move an icon to the bottom of the screen if I want? These are basic functions that should have been available in the very first iOS.
It's more gimmicky features with limited control. They added always on display but it turns off, which means it's not "always on" etc.
Mine doesn’t shut off with always on turned on. Go to your settings and dial it in 😊

That's fine but stop calling it "always on display" - that's one of the reasons I switched back to iPhone. Apple needs to stop lying and stop trying to control how we use OUR devices which we OWN.
@@davidsteckley8846 it does turn off, for example if you have a watch and leave the room, it will know that you are not close to the phone and turn AoD off, beucase you are not close to you phone

Anyone’s iPhone 15 pro max’s battery still terrible even with new update. Like it drains to fast. I’ll be at 90% and listening to my downloaded music for 4 hours will scrolling through instagram a bit and it goes down to 50%. Low brightness to
iOS 17 in general is a battery killer
They need to fix HomePods and minis like for real. Hand off doesn’t work, they don’t stay connected to internet, airplay music is finicky, just fix what you have and make it work good.

I hope they fix Siri back to back command and have Siri greets the owner with some sort of presence. And I am not talking usig shortcuts or automation to perform this. The homepod music lists as well, Siri and Apple Music won’t have logs of the songs playing in Homepod.

The only update i care about for iOS is customization. Shitty folders, icon size, limited desktop. Without that i will never go back to iOS.

I just want an updated and useful Siri on my 13 mini. A15 chip should be able to handle that.
Really don't give a a cr** about AI features. Can I edit home screen freely first? Can I get proper theming and icon packs for ios first? Can I move files from PC/Mac without stupid sync first?

I think the main aspect the apple has to work on that must be multi-tasking of an OS rather than making some more changes in iOS otherwise Android will leave them far behind as much as day n night distance.
For iOS 18 to be the biggest upgrade in iPhone history they would need to make a change so drastic that going back to iOS 6 would seem less weird.

Ive just moved from Android to iOS and loving the customisation, integration and consistency. Android really needs to up its game. And all phones support 5-7 years of use and updates.

From reading the tea leaves, the iPhone 16 won’t be a big hardware upgrade like the 15 series was more likely, the internal stuff to run AI. That being said, there will be some of the new AI for the older phones as the chipset is still built on a 3nm process. But there will be some hardware only features which is ultimately, the only way Apple will be able to sell the new phones as the 15 generation gave us a huge series of upgrades and most people will be hanging onto those phones for the next 3 to 5 years. I know I will be so, I’m not worried. There will be enough there to enhance our experience without there being too much FOMO. For all intents, this isn’t going to be that exciting an upgrade year. Many analysts are saying that it’s the 17 and 18 gen. iPhones that will have the real stellar AI capabilities.
For God's sake, let me change Siri's name.
