I have 4 grandchildren that my husband and I have never met. The eldest is 17 and the youngest is 9. My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 inoperable prostate cancer in June. I contacted our son to let him know but he never responded. I was hoping that he would be moved to let us meet them..but I guess not. We have asked for 20 years what have we done and all he says is that he and his wife feel we don't bring anything positive or beneficial to them. I don't get it. He is an only child so maybe we just did too much.

Doesn't hear the doorbell, doesn't get up when he hears there is company, stands up to greet his guests, realizes it's grandbabies so he is super jazzed, throws in a "watch my back", told by grandbabies they're staying the night, offers more nights. Totally reminds me of my grandpa
I am over 50 years old now ,but when I was their age ,my father used to fly me to my grandparents house and ring the doorbell and the love and happiness my grandparents had on their faces will remain with me for the rest off my life !! My dad ,would hide ,so when they opened the door ,it was just me and my little brother ! Awesome memories ,.my grandparents are gone now ,but thanks dad !! There is nothing that comes close too family love and pride in their offspring !!!
