Any time I see Fynn, it's in the 99 as a way to turn go wide, vomit your deck onto the field, multi-color decks an instant win con. Shelob is a perfect example.
I actually play Poison Dart frog. If ramps, has reach and you can surprise someone with the deathtouch. They forget about it
I'm building this deck now, started building a week ago. Also bought the Dread Pirate figurine for extra Toxic
Lagrella is quite fun to play. It feels like a blink/control deck, constantly exiling the opponents best creatures and acquiring value, until you combo off.
I appreciate these kind of videos, where we appreciate the uniqueness of a commander instead of how busted it is.
Fynn is in my Hapatra deck bc I can't afford craterhoof 🤣🤣 basically the same functionality!
0:59 I play a deck with a commander called Tetsuko, which gives creatures with power/toughness 1 or less unblockable. I think it’d be really cool to make a simic deathtouch deck with creatures that are 1/1s.

@@paradoxpanda1756 i'm not, I don't like the card or his deck overall, in fact (not infect 🤣) I think he's kind of boring. But I do think he's unique.

It's a strong alt' win con? You shouldn't play it outright unless you're into that level of hate, but otherwise it's a great way to end people who think they're untouchable.

This has inspired me to finally build a Moritte deck. I love ramping into big dumb enchantments, why not make more anyway?
I only run Transformer commanders. Always a fun time seeing peoples' reactions.
So, wisdom to share:
Firstly, Ink Duelist and the Freezing Flame are both cracked. The former is the king of removal and control; remember, every "Arrest" and "O-Ring" is 3 cmc or lower. The later is the King of Kill Steals, sniping advantage while being useful enough to usually live long enough for a run at first.
Secondly, Pauper Commander Zada is insane; budget kills are less quick and consistent, so in that environment she just gets bodies or bodies- there is no middle ground.
Thirdly, decks do have back-up commanders- or SHOULD at least. Many of these are amazing at that or as tech. Maybe keep that in mind if you like 'em- or use them to HIDE the real threat. Lorcan(a) helms what was my Tegrid deck to mask her presence 'til it's time; they run near identical hustles, just that one is a 7/7 Flampler and the other is Baba Yega.
Killian is my commander in an outlaw/committing crime themed deck. Auras and instants to target my opponents creatures for value

I use Lagrella in Pauper Commander.
Cards like [Oracle of Dust] that put things opponents own from exile into their graveyard is massively hilarious, essentially removing their creatures from coming back whenever Lagrella LTB or Flickers.
ALSO, Prototype creatures you own (like [Rust Goliath]), you can cast them for their prototype cost and then flicker them with Lagrella, causing them to ETB as their full version ([Rust Goliath] Prototype cast for 3GG as a 3/5 with reach and trample, upgrades to 10/10 with reach and trample, bypassing 10 cmc cost, in addition to 2 +1/+1 counters from Lagrellas interaction with creatures that ETB under your control with her ability). Easy cost savings.
Really fun Pauper Commander, and the deck list I have is only 33$
EDH deck building has such a great channel for this kind of thing! 😅
Keep in mind Killian's cost reduction only applies if you target a creature
i have a valduk deck and i agree completely why its on this list, he's absolutely insane
I use Fynn in my Lathril B/G Elf deck. Works wonders with Elderfang Vemon.
yeah he's a great secret commander that you can tutor up and scare the shit out of the whole table lol
I have a serialized fynn the fangbearer deck and it might be my favorite deck in all of magic. Deathtouch tribal is so cool and unique

My second oldest son chose rishkar as his commander for his nature deck.
I built a Valduk popper deck and play it in normal games since it is so much fun.
Blade of selves is my favourite way to re trigger kardur. All 3 seeing the 2 attacking copies die is an instant drain/gain for 6

I built Fynn, played maybe 5 games with it, and broke it up. Any Fynn list is the antithesis of fun.
The video is about uniqueness, not fun. Uniqueness is objectively measured, no other commander does what Fynn does, fun is subjective, so your opinion dosn't really matter in this context.

Not every legendary creature is specifically designed for commander. Some are designed to be for draft or standard

Octavia puts in work in my Talrand deck. It's awesome to turn a couple of my 2/2 Drakes into beaters

One amazing card i should point out that works great for Valduk is Throne of Tarkir. Since you’re not attacking with him too often anyway, you can just use him as the mother of all anthem and potentially OHKO the table.
Dragon Throne of tarkir very underrated card that many people cut from the deck because it doesnt do enough. With Valduk, it actually can be a wincon in the deck!

Fynn, the Fangbearer is literally the most popular mono green commander, not very unique.

To be fair...poison is overhated in commander
Fynn is a poison deck, a common and really bad type of deck to play against... how is it unique ? And a lot of uncommon commanders are not meant for commanders, but for draft archetypes, and some of those archetypes are repeated from set to set. The rest is really interesting and it was a cool video.
