- Hello everyone and welcome back to my blind playthrough of Tunic! Having conquered the Cathedral, it's now time to reclaim our lost powers and return to life in order to face the Heir! We go back to all corners of the map in order to do so, and stumble upon a ton of secrets... looks like this game was hiding a lot more under the surface than I thought........... This is getting really interesting!

You know when you reach out for pen and paper the real fun begins =)
Regarding the complexity: there is only a few cryptic secrets, and none of them are required to beat the game. We believe in you😉
Man, I'm impressed how easily you body some enemies I had trouble with. Heir first phase first try? Respect.
A secret that's 100% not explained in game and won't affect your play-through, except to give you more appreciation for the absolute mad-lad that made this game:
There is a musical language in Tunic (colloquially named "Tune-ic." All of the fairies you free say something specific in the musical language, and if you know how to decode it, you can figure out what they're saying through their warbling when you free them. The same language gives you other lines of dialogue whenever you pick up a new item, like your sword, shield, health berries, etc, or when you open certain doors, ring the West and East Bells, make chests appear, and similar. Likewise, several songs also have lyrics in that language woven in with the harmonies.
It's more than a little crazy, honestly.
Wow that is insane lol
There's actually a recently posted video on the GDC channel where the sound designer gave a talk about what all they did and dove into the secrets. Well worth the watch even if just for that last part.
God damn Lukael! You have some mad gaming skills. That little arena fight you beat in two tries took me multiple days and at least 6 hours of grinding. I almost quit the game because of it. Guess I'm too old for these types of games.
Ahaha it's my Hollow Knight + Bloodborne training paying off!
@@LukaelPlays I've played hollow Knight and a couple souls games. It just takes me way longer. Tunic took me a fair amount of time. My best skill is persistence. Must have been those old DOS Sierra games that required you to fully type out everything you wanted to do or say that trained me for the pain.
I platinumed Elden Ring, but it took me like 430 hours of "fun" haha
Persistence is the key! Can't imagine platinuming Elden Ring, that's impressive!
About the Sword you found: it was put there by the devs for Speedrunners. With all the secret paths and tricks you learn about the map it is very possible to sequence break the game on a second playthrough and the devs thought it would be nice if there was another sword waiting there for those who get their early (and already know how to open the door)
Oooh I see, makes sense!
This episode is the key moment where you realize there is much more to this game than it looks... NGL, you were pretty quick to reach this point and I've been impressed at how well you manage every boss battle, but now is the real deal: using your brain more than your sword is gonna be one hell of a challenge here. I, for one, am weak and ended up looking up online for answers. I even came close to giving up the game, for how far-fetched some puzzles turned out to be. I'd recommend you give it a try though, but if you really feel stuck at some point don't hesitate to look it up. It's worth it in the end!
I hope you stick with trying to figure it all out. If you want to translate the manual, and I encourage you to try, it will take quite a lot of time, but you can do it. Everything you need is there in the game, you only need to see it. You're doing great so far.
I'm so glad you know how to use punctuation. "Back From The Dead Baby" sounds much worse without that comma.
🤣🤣
The best part of the game! It was definitely overwhelming at first trying to figure out what to look for and where to go, but it got a bit easier once things started to click. You are definitely smart enough to find all the secrets, so I believe if anyone could, it'd be you! A few of them can take quite a bit of time, so I wouldn't blame you if you sought out a hint or two. You're doing very well so far though. And like others said, your combat is impressive, I eventually switched to easy mode cause it was such a pain lol. Also loved your reaction after you "accidentally" found out you could sleep 😂
😁😁
You are now on the second half of the game. I'm excited!
It’s a shame this playthrough isn’t more popular, Tunic is underrated and so are you haha
Thank you! 🥰
There are a couple hard things in this game, but I believe in you! I had most of my a-ha moments in between play sessions, and then vibrated with excitement to get a chance to test my solution :D Please don't think you can't, just because you didn't figure something out right away!
(And if you ever feel like giving up, ask someone you trust to be a good advisor to give you small hints)
I love that the fairy list in the manual tracks your progress! It's so helpful! :)
Next episode is my final 6 hours of gameplay all condensed into an extra long finale episode! How many secrets did I manage to figure out? You'll have to watch and see! 😄
Oh my, first try second phase on The Heir, and so many Fairies so quick, you're much better at this game than you give yourself credit for!
I am late to this but amazing gameplay , the dodge work was chef kiss
Please continue the search we would love to see you unlocking the secrets , thank you
Wait, you can jump?!?
Just kidding, good work with the "gauntlet"! Love the mysteries in this game - good luck with all of them!
Also, shoutout to Kevin Regamey for another incredible soundtrack! Every song a banger.
He's the MVP for sure!
The music of Tunic was actually the work of composers Lifeformed and Janice Kwan, who worked on the project together. Kevin Regamey was the lead sound designer, although he did work closely with the composers throughout development (for reasons made clear in another comment).
You can do it! Getting one specific secret is beyond almost anyone trying to figure it out by themselves, but I think you can get the rest with determination.
I will say, and hopefully this isn't like a spoiler for you, but there is one more page left for you to find :]
I realized this a bit later when looking at the numbers on the golden slab page 🤔 the numbers go higher than the amount of pages I have!
