When PRS announced Kanami’s Signature Model in their talk show in Tokyo, all other ladies were there too to support Kanami and Akane was crying on the crowd as much as Kanami was on stage. That tells everything about Akane’s Heart& Soul ❤️ and their Deep friendship 🔥❤️ Lovin these ladies ❤️ Lovin’ Band-Maid ❤️
We talk a lot about how musicians have "talent", but the thing these documentaries instilled in me is that these women are skilled, they were all born with talent for sure, but it would be nothing without the thousands of hours of skill they honed through practice. Honestly so inspiring.
On Band-Maid Prime there's a one on one video from 2022 where Akane and Miku discuss learning new songs. Akane talks about learning all the rhythms for her hands first and then adding her legs after she gets the hand rhythm for each section. She also writes out the musical notation for every single drum and cymbal hit, as Miku says, her notation is even more detailed than the musical score Kanami writes. It's a fascinating glimpse into their process.
@ricjtetsx70 Thank you for pointing what I was going to mention as well. Akane writes out the musical notation for her drum parts, that is for every tom, cymbal, high hat, snare, and the floor double bass. And, to my knowledge she is the only Rock drummer that does that. aMAIDzing!!!!!
Akane is the social butterfly of the group and has many friends in other bands. She is the comedian of the group. I believe she is also the most emotional one. There are videos of her crying during songs of her taking care of Kanami during their 2022 USA tour when Kanami was not feeling well. She is half gorilla and human according to the band and loves her bananas! Always has a smile while playing drums! What’s not to love! 🤘🕊️🦍🥷👸🏻👀PO!
I have watched these documentaries so many times now, both by myself and with reactors... and it never gets old! I love watching them with you and your reactor colleagues, it's fun every time! 😎🤘
There was a funny interview on the internet where the interviewer asked the Maids if what they had gotten during the holiday break. MISA said she got a new bass. Miku said she got a new guitar and when they asked Akane what she got. She said, "More muscles."
I really wasn't paying that much attention to drummers before I found Band-Maid, it was all about heavy guitars, you know 🙂 But that completely changed with Akane, I now sometimes even especially concentrate on her when listening to their songs. She's, alongside Kanami, probably the member that imppresses me the most in the band. I think she's absolutely quintessential to what Band-Maid is, not imaginable without her. And she's also a very beautiful woman with an awesome personality.
Akane is a goddess!! I can say that with 100% certainty. Saw them live one hour ago. They were truly awesome. Many, many highlights but the version of "No God" they played tonight should become the official live version. It was epic! Anyway, time to watch the Akane doco with mates! Huge shout out to TJ and La Gringa, my fave reactors!! 🙌 ❤🎉
That must have been an amazing experience and although I hate to admit it I am very jealous 🤣😂. Really appreciate you watching this right after watching the band! Were there any opening bands or any other bands or was it just straight-up Band-Maid?... So glad you got to see them and enjoy them only an hour ago I'm trying to live vicariously through you 🤣😂
Only the Maids, performing for just over two hours. The both of you must see them live. Incredible music, incredible performance. And Misa ... she is on a level all of her very own. I've never seen a bass guitar played the way she plays it. Second show tomorrow night!! 4000% excited!!
Akane played a cajón during part of the Christmas 2021 acoustic okyu-ji stream. The clip of Akane singing was cut short. MISA comes on camera and dances after that.
In the commentary of the Christmas concert in 2021, Akane was saying how much she liked that cajon, which was borrowed from Zildjian. She was tossing up whether to buy it or not because it was such a good cajon.
Lots of what people hear as double pedeled bass drum is sometimes done with her right foot alone. Watch the video at about 17:45, her right foot is playing bass drum while her left foot is playing the hi-hat. Also you can see and hear this on some of her solo drum cams. It's a sliding technique that takes lots of practice and patience to learn.
Endless story was played as the outro because at the end of their first? US tour in 2022, it was the last song- exhausted and relieved, she started crying seriously. Wiping the tears away as she was still drumming. At the end of the song the rest of the band in a similar state. This moment was caught on a fan cam. What wasn't mentioned was Kanami's banana skin antics at some shows- throwing her used banana skins into the audience. Later she stated signing them too. I have a feeling that the mother hen or pigeon nature of Miku did not always appreciate reckless behaviour and so it stopped. When the crazy suff starts to happen- usually during her Magic Spell Time MC's, Miku can be seen covering her face with her hands in disbelief. Believe it or not Kanami is often the instigator of such goings on- like putting a Pokie up Misa's nose then giving it to Miku to eat before telling her wear thad been. In 60 years of going to see rock bands, I've never seen anything like it. But that is why we love them. Please react to The One- no vid just the best song.
Another great reaction to these doc's!!!!!! It is so fun to watch how giddy La Gringa gets and how she says her face hurts from smiling!!!!! Keep up the good work because it is very much appreciated!!!!! See you on the next one!!!!! Thank you for what you do!!!!!
Ohrenje is working on updating these documentaries. You have already watched two updated ones. Next up is Akane. She beat Misa in the audience vote 51%:49%. We are waiting for the release of the film.
I don't know how many times I've watched these Ohrenje docs and often with reactors who are genuinely passionate about Band-Maid like you guys and take the time to learn as much information as possible about each member. It is as much for their personalities as for their talents that we adore these young women because they are truly unique. The year 2025 will be fantastic, I feel it. THANKS
I have watched the original videos from Ohrenje several times, but I have to say that watching them again with you guys makes me like them even more. It is always enjoyable to someone like myself, a longtime Madiac, when I see someone relatively new to the band watch how these incredible people came together and appreciate this like you do. Thanks for all you do for The Maids. You are appreciated.
Akane has always reminded me of the popular girl in school who could do it all, and had it all. Every girl wanted to be her friend and every guy had a crush on her. She was simply too busy succeeding to notice it all ! She has a tremendous energy and spirit about her that is a joy to witness ! Her drive to succeed is matched only by the other Maids ! ❤️🤯
And yeah, it's almost embarrassing, but I've watched these on my own, and then at least another 10 to 15 times with reactors. Because I love to see people who love music understanding more and more the elements that make Band-Maid such an incredible and important band. That's the driving force behind the maidiacs. We love our band, and we are part of the "team" to bring them to World Domination!!!
Love your reactions to these documentaries and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving holiday.❤ (Imo) Miku's story is most inspirational and needed to be told in full... po! 🕊
In 2015 the torched was passed from the Professor to Akane. They're the most musical drummers I've ever heard. They're just great story tellers on the kit. Thanks for doing these!
I hope after the docs, you guys get a chance to watch some of the off stage antics of the band members. There are many shorter clips of them messing around, and being guests on interview shows, to even Miku hosting touring shows. Showing off different areas in Japan. And it's all fun stuff.
Watch the vid from prs where Kanami receives her signiature model from paul reed smith himself. Those that wat at the reveal said that she cried when he handed her the guitar. All the other members were oresent at the venue. Kanami is a real sweetheart. Akana is a beast. Saiki sings like a nightingale, Miku is a very smart pigion, Misa looks and plays like a ninja, and Kanami is just a little genius...
I've always said, that Akane is one of the most musical drummers I have ever heard in my 66 trips around the sun. But it fascinates me that she hasn't added the second floor tom to her kit. I'm not saying she should, because she obviously doesn't need to, but it would really colour the sound a bit more It was even quite some time into the Band-Maid journey before she actually added the second rack tom. Now, I'm not a drummers tooth pick, but my son spent years down in our basement playing guitars & drums, so I can feel the difference.
#TequilaJimmy #LaGringa One of the members of MOTCHI TO CHEESE and PREDIA is now in EAST OF EDEN her name is AKANÉ MINATO. For the Documentary of SAIKI and KANAMI you see the Version 2. You need to watch the version 1 of it. We are waiting for the version 2 for AKANÉ, MISA & MIKU they're not available ( need to be recorded) that's why you see on AKANÉ documentary a interview of Musicians to explain the music technic. I like the both versions of the documentary.
That's it. Kanami doc i said you were fast becoming my favourite reactors now it's official. You guys are number 1. I've loved rewatching these with you both. Watching the 2 of you fall more in love each week with this band it makes my heart swell. I am having first time vibes 😂. Also both of your comments are great. Cannot wait to see the MISA reaction. Keep it up guys, love you both roll on BM Monday and Friday 😊

Thank you so much Lewis!!! Appreciate you supporting us. So Glad you enjoyed it! We are delighted to be on this Journey diving into these lovely ladies ..More Band-Maid on Friday! Hope you are having a magnificent evening!! 😃Much Love to you from us both! ❤️❤️
Great reaction as always guys ... there's also an Ohrenje video of the ladies performing Choose Me at their incredible Yokohama concert. This was the only song during the gig when the band allowed fans to film video on their cellphones. Ohrenje has very cleverly created a video of the song using multiple recordings so the quality is not as good as usual but the atmosphere is palpable. Worth a look if you haven't seen it.
I'm not gonna say she's the best ever..... that is sooooo subjective. What I will say is that she is in "MY" Top 10, maybe even my Top 5. But what I will say is that she is "Happiest" drummer of all time.
The biggest thing about Akane's playing that flies under the radar was brought up by Wave here. Make a habit of focusing on her for an entire song, and about 70% of their songs you'll find that she'll maybe play two measures, maybe four, with the same pattern, then switch. Then do something completely abnormal - if you've listened to drummers at all, you'll notice. She's extremely unique - almost as if she didn't really listen to many other drummers, but made up her own way of playing almost. On one of their recent songs, the 16th note fill you'd expect on beat four doesn't come - and them BOOM, on beat 1 of the next phrase there's a blast of 16ths. That's not normal.
The Band-Maid song that Mochi-To-Cheese covered was "Forward", from Band-Maid's first album. They still sing "Forward" today -- e.g. at their Yokohama Arena concert in late 2023. Miku is the secret sauce behind Band-Maid. Little ball of energy, full of ideas, and talent. She entered the Japanese Open Poker Tour ... and led the board most of the tournament. She ended up coming second -- one of the best amateur poker players in Japan. Imagine having her on your side when negotiating with management.
*Akane* has a big appetite on the European tour there was a scene where *BAND-MAID* was playing *DICE* and *Akane* reached over to eat some food during the song. 🤣😂🤣
Hmmm...how many times have Maidiacs rewatched all of these? Too many to count! And that's fine by me/us! PO! Love seeing people fall deeper in love with each member as you learn about each of them. Four more to go...can't wait to see your reactions. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘
See, I told you that this band was fukking awesome! 🤣😂🤘🤘Loving your reactions to this great set of documentaries - and love that Band-Maid Mondays logo! It's funny that Gringa mentioned how watching these again with you two is great as, the other night, while watching another great Ohrenje video about their USA tours, Japan tours and a detailed look at their 33 song anniversary concert, I immediately thought "I know who'd appreciate and enjoy this"! Mm...I smell coffee! Look forward to Band-Maid Friday!
Tony!! That sounds like a fun watch!! Ohrenje makes great quality videos. Love how these are produced and how well they flow.. Im a huge fan of documentaries in general so watching these has been truly enjoyable for me... Also somehow makes us feel more connected with the Band. Almost like getting to know them on a personal level. Thanks for always being here brother 🤘🤘
@TJandTheGringa Your appreciation of Miku will go thru the roof when you get to her 3! You two are just the best reactors and you give out some great knowledge on guitars which is aleays appreciated. Po!
Polskabob had requested me to play puzzle acoustic .. so I told him I would because the Gringa is making me actually LOL... She responded to his comment saying I would do it .. So eventually I'll record a little short when I get some time to do it. . Appreciate all the support and kind words that you leave here everyday!.. you also make us chuckle quite often 🤣😂
I was at the show at Zepp Haneda last night and will be attending again tonight. Mincho is so proud of her new PRS they devoted a whole MC to it. Later this week will be seeing Asterism with the guitar phenom HAL-CA. Check her out if you get the chance. She is 21 and when she was 15 she was performing VH Eruption better than Eddy. No lie.
Kanami and Akane played in Mochi to Cheese during the early years of Band-Maid when the latter was struggling to establish itself. "Forward" was not a Kanami composition, as her songwriting came later; it was a pop-rock style song performed on their first album (2014). For Mochi to Cheese, my guess is that Kanami re-arranged it for acoustic performance (Kanami is quite good at this lol). (Interesting tidbit is that one of the lead singers for Mochi to Cheese is now the lead singer for East of Eden, a recently formed (2023) all female "superband" of sorts (band formed by already well established musicians) that has released some pretty fun music.)
Just another hidden gem. A lot of people skip over songs without clips and miss out on these songs. PLEASE check out "Unfair Game" (there might be a photo collage around - but if not, don't skip it). It features one of Kanami's longest solo's (on a studio album) and as you said a few times, you think she'll go one way but nah nah nah, she does what she does best.
I started out playing the tuba as an 80lb squirt in 7th grade, then switched to baritone/euphonium in 8th grade. I wanted to be in the field show marching band, so I had to learn the trombone. I continued playing it through high school and college in the jazz band. 30 years since graduation, I still pick it up once in a while. Low brass rules! 😁🤘
I'm glad that you mentioned the cajon. I have seen Akane play one three times. Have you two heard her play cajon during the Online Acoustic Okyuji? She mentions in the commentary that the one she plays during it was the top of the line Zildjian which they loaned to her. I realize that it is not the most complicated thing to play but Akane plays it at master level. Adding in the cymbal and chimes is a nice touch as well. I thought that after Zildjian heard her play it and hype it up that they would have given it to her. Someone told me that she ended up buying one though. That at least means that we might get to hear her play one again sometime down the road.
Oh you need to react to Band-Maid Forward in the acustic christmas show. You can do a double header. Original and acustic but the one with Akane playing de cajón
I can relate to the crying when the maids appear on stage. I saw Babymetal on 11/23 and was in the front, and for some reason two tears streamed down my face with I first saw the curtain part and the girls walk on stage. My wife screamed when Momoko waived to us (I have it on video and will be uploading it hopefully this week). Speaking of Babymetal, there's a few documentaries on youtube about them. The one I like the most is called "The Not So Extensive Guide to Babymetal" and is on a channel called A Fox Song.
When PRS announced Kanami’s Signature Model in their talk show in Tokyo, all other ladies were there too to support Kanami and Akane was crying on the crowd as much as Kanami was on stage.
@@TJandTheGringa That would be excellent and coolAF!
No lie.
Have an awesome time at the concert. ‼️. We have a few Asterism reactions on the channel if you want to check them out at your leisure 😃
Hal-Ca just turned 22 on Nov. 23 🎂😊
You're awesome ! 🤘🤘
🫵 R Awesome ‼️
Thanks for the reaction!
Our pleasure!
Thats Fridays sorted for the next 3 years then! I'll be here 😊
We gonna have lotsa fun Fridays!!
Yes!! I’m watching them again with you guys.
Thank You! Love Having you here ‼️💛
Kanami and Akane played in Mochi to Cheese during the early years of Band-Maid when the latter was struggling to establish itself. "Forward" was not a Kanami composition, as her songwriting came later; it was a pop-rock style song performed on their first album (2014). For Mochi to Cheese, my guess is that Kanami re-arranged it for acoustic performance (Kanami is quite good at this lol).
(Interesting tidbit is that one of the lead singers for Mochi to Cheese is now the lead singer for East of Eden, a recently formed (2023) all female "superband" of sorts (band formed by already well established musicians) that has released some pretty fun music.)
these are great! ♥ Like yer background. Himejii Castle was my fave place that we visited in Japan back in June 😎
I've been there also! Love that place ♥️
Band-Maid Monday and now Friday. Thanks
💘💘
Have a listen to their acoustic DAWN WINERY.👌
They have an acoustic version of it?
@sugaanessena3143 sorry I meant instrumental, 😀👍
@@neilhillan6938 Thank God, I thought I had missed something.😂😂
Is that “Color My World” by Chicago Akane is playing on the piano?

❤💛💙🤘🤘🤘🤘
Akane A-chan DJ Achi!
Rumor or truth? Is Akane in friends with Haruna of LOVEBITES? If yes, it will be very interesting how this is influencing both of their styles . . .
It's true Haruna came to the 10th anniversary show at Yokohama.
Yes Akane and Haruna are friends. There are several pictures of them together just hanging out chatting.
The one I like the most is called "The Not So Extensive Guide to Babymetal" and is on a channel called A Fox Song.
lol, I hope you aren't behind the wheel when you're trying to the do the double kick-pedal, Jimmy!
I been guilty of that more than once 😜‼️
Jimmy leave the maid outfit for the gringa , maybe a butler outfit w the top hat would suit you better po!
Damn... you are spoiling my fun! 😂😂... But I totally get it ...I wouldn't make a very pretty maid 😂😂
