Andy is the slide master...its funny watching Andy do Pantera stuff (old vids) then this .Andy is great..Andy does NOT get old by the way.. he becomes VINTAGE...
Hey, I been playing in open e 52yrs.l can play whatever you play in standard tuning.of course the note position is different .I 'm watching these guitar player s on the tube here .I know for a fact, you can play in any key, and not just the open one, or the bar cord's.I could go on and on about open e, but I'LL shut it down for now .
Great video! It's really dawning on me why all the slide players keep a rack of guitars tuned for the different keys... I'd hate to be the guitar tech who's in charge of remembering which guitars are in which tunings!
I've had a guitar in open e for years and years now...I never change it back...I'm getting bettered at it...but I use a smaller slide,glass.I do mute with my slide hand though ALOT with Palm muting to...it works for me but whatever YA learn how to play slide ,its like a wild animal ya have to take...especially play in lead...thanks Andy...sounds pissa

Nice advice to listen to the greats, but, please, fire the compression and distortion pedals.. Learn to play clean, and control your sound with palm blocking (and behind the slide fingers...)

So this would go with lead over E major ? And then just copy the same idea for the other chords I take it ?
