I’ve been battling cancer since I was 15, I’m 23 now. I stay at Toby Keith’s foundation’ Kids Korral in OKC every time I go for my appointments since I live 5 hours away in the Oklahoma Panhandle. I got to meet Toby once when I had just gotten out of surgury. I’m forever grateful for his foundation giving me a place for my family and all the families of cancer patients to stay there in OKC.

My brother passed away from stomach cancer on August 9, 2023 after being diagnosed in the fall of 2020. I know what Toby went through and he is now in a better place.

I was a marine deployed in Afghanistan in 2010. I was sleeping after a shift and was woken up by what sounded like live music.
It was. Toby Keith flew out to the middle of Afghanistan and did a surprise concert. I thought that was so cool.

My aunt passed away Christmas Day. Yet, she had been a five time cancer survivor. She went through her third and fourth battles in her eighties. God saw fit to take her Home during her fifth and final battle, but she was almost 88. Lucid, loving, and giving everyone their orders to the very end when she gained her true victory.

My husband of 44 years went through all of this too with stomach cancer…diagnosed in April of 2021 and passed in June of 2022 after losing 70 pounds. It’s so hard to watch them waste away. My prayers are with you.

If we are being literal, cancer isn't really trying to kill the host, it's just cells that aren't programmed to compile with the body's normal function, which ends up killing the host.

I was in the Army for 8 long years, and deployed all over the world. During my second tour in Iraq, I heard that Toby Keith was coming to play a show for us. I could not be more excited as I was a pretty big fan of his up to this point. After a hard , long, grueling day of operations, it was time for a much needed break. It was time for the show. We pulled our Humvees and tanks up and circled the around a small stage made of pallets, with a backdrop made of camo netting. There where no chairs so we either sat in the sand, on the hood of a Humvee, or on the barrel of the tank guns. The sun was starting to set over the desert and Toby Keith and Scotty Emmerick walk out and play our favorite songs. And there couldn't have been more than two hundred of us. In a time of war and despair, this was perfect. I remember watching one of my favorite musicians play my favorite songs while the sun was setting over stage. Perfection. Thank you, Toby, Rest in Peace.

I saw Toby in concert the end of august 2021, when he came on stage he apologized for not being at his best because he had been sick all night and almost didn’t perform. He gave an amazing concert, pushing through what he thought was food poisoning and did not disappoint a soul in the audience! Not long after when I heard he had stomach cancer, I knew that’s why he had been sick and it’s heartbreaking!
My roots are in the same soil and he makes me proud to be an okie !

I knew people like this too..they got off all the poison and went on a strict organic vegan diet. The same person started walking 5 miles a day in addition to the new diet. Still alive today. I couldn't remember but it was a bad one. Stomach, pancreas or esophagus something pretty intense. Your body has within it the capability to heal itself with natural remedies when you rid your system of all chemicals. I mean all. Go natch on the toothpaste, deodorant. Don't take any tylenol or ibuprofen. There is a great pain reliever in nature cannabis and kratom combo. I tore my bicep and shoulder about 7 years ago and this combination gets me through my work day being in intense pain almost constantly. God has provided the Earth with everything we need to survive and heal.
It is a honor to look up to Toby Keith. I respect this man and I am privileged to be able to enjoy his music.

It's heartbreaking to see legends like Toby Keith, Randy Travis, etc. going thru these battles. We know they are human....just like us, and most of them will eventually fight the same battles. Yet it just seems to make it a little more real. We watch people we love suffer and pass from cancer. It is truly a horrible, horrible disease. My dad died from cancer and my mom died from a stroke. Somehow we, in the backs of our minds expect them to overcome most obstacles. Like us, they face them head on. They dont have superhuman strength or abilities.......and like us they face the shortfalls and roadblocks with all the strength they have. May God give them strength and determination to face whatever lies before them.
In his own way, Toby was a once in a generation artist like Elvis or Frank Sinatra. Not just a great singer/songwriter and entertainer, but a great patriot and a great person. I never met him, butI sure do miss him. God Bless you Toby- thanks for the memories.

Great interview, Robin. Years ago, I met Toby and gave him a song I had written about my fallen friend, CW3 Donovan Briley, copilot of Super 6-1 (Black Hawk Down). He obviously didn't need songs but was such a gentleman. He accepted the song with grace, looked over the lyric sheet and shook my hand, and said thank you for your service. What a great guy, such class. Back in the early 90s, several of us fans spoke with Toby after his set, where he opened for Aaron Tippin and Pam Tillis in Charleston,SC. He was so friendly as if he knew us all. So yes, years later, and a superstar, Toby was still a nice guy when I gave him an unsolicited song. Take care, Kirk

Toby has been an inspiration to me for over thirty years. The first concert I went to was in Vegas at a venue that seated 400 people. He is a Gentleman, a patriot, and a believer of faith in God. This was the best interview. God Bless him and his beautiful family.

Thank you for that I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer and some how my doctors got it in remission and now I developed lung cancer but I don't give up I try to get back to normal as much as possible some days are easier then others but I never stop trying

I’ve seen Toby perform every year. I scheduled my life around his concert dates. When I heard about him getting cancer, I was stunned. I’ve just learned that I have cancer as well. Toby is my inspiration. We’re gonna make it, hoss. We’re gonna make it.
The mainstream diet encourages cancer to grow . It’s not shocking that more and more people get cancer ..
My brother had Lung cancer and to see the pain he had…. He’s now in Paradise with a new body,no more pain.🙏✝️
Look into natural healing. Unfortunately toby hasn't, as it seems.

Seeing this now on Feb 6 2024 and in absolute tears. Toby was a huge soundtrack to my elementary and middle school days and I have fond memories of singing his songs with my childhood friends. Rest easy brother in the Lords arms, He will restore your body and health as you walk with him in heaven.
My uncle Mike passed away 2 weeks ago after battling like hell with stage 4 esophageal cancer. He fought it for 2 years and never cared about himself over his family. Toby and Uncle Mike have been battling the same battle and I’m sad to see them both pass. Both of them are the toughest and would want to leave some of that toughness here for the rest of us to pick up.
I have an Uncle Mike that passed away in 2020. He was killed in 4-wheeler wreck. He would have been 58 that fall
