Hi Dreamer, it's me again :). Love your BA videos, they are litterally the only good ones you can find anywhere. Is this basically the same as the 777 LGW economy, but no in-seat wall plugs?
BA Doesn't have an A350-900 in their fleet. BA288 from PHX to LHR is operated by an Airbus A350 (That is correct), but it is operated by an Airbus A350-1000. I flew on that same aircraft type in 2022 on BA288 and BA289. Though I do love the video. Keep up the good work.
There are plugs below each seat in economy and of much note is that they only have 31 inches of legroom and so are really cramped when the person in front reclines.
I'm flying out with my kiddo in July. These videos help my little see what to expect, as he's special needs and never flown before. Going from PIT to London Heathrow. But I know BA has a few different planes in their fleet and I have no idea which one we'll be on. :/
So glad to hear they’re useful! You should be able to see at time of booking. Of course, there can always be last minute equipment changes but I’ve found that to be quite rare with BA :)
Thank you so much for a very informative video! I have been looking online for in-plane pictures of my specific seat for an upcoming flight because of the risk of window obstruction and I was able to see it in your video! Thank you for making such specific and informative videos, The internet is a fantastic place.
For my purposes, the key details are at 01:30 and 2:00 (seatback pockets), 01:50 (USB port) and 2:05 (lack of gasper vents) -- thank you. To compensate for airliners that lack personal air (*), I have a USB-powered fan with a hefty spring-clip, so I check if the seats supply power and an appropriately-sized edge. (*) I had a poor experience once on a JAL flight with a too-warm cabin.
Haven’t tried it my side, sorry - hopefully someone else can jump in. They’re generally nice and roomy however, screens will typically then be on an arm that comes up from the chair which I don’t typically like as always seem to give me a sore neck looking down at them…
Certainly looks a reasonable service even for economy, as beloved as the 747s were many were showing their age. In 2019 flew back from DC onboard a 23 year old 747 in PE breakfast was a filled roll and a tea was really disappointing, but good to see the post Covid BA seem at last to be upping their game and offering a good service Just get rid of those ancient 777 and short haul 319/320
Yeah agree on all fronts. I was a huge fan of the 747’s and do wish they had the later incarnation of it but post Covid BA does seem to be emerging stronger. Sean Doyle I think is now starting to make a good impact. The old 777’s are tired for sure, should see the back of those fairly quickly in the years to come I’d imagine…
Another brilliant trip report. It does seem that BA are upping their game in economy on longhaul flights- that second service full English breakfast is particularly impressive when some carriers would just serve a yoghurt and a muffin. I might be tempted to try BA economy on a transatlantic flight this year.
Thank you! Yeah too true, was very much expecting the yoghurt muffin combo. Went transatlantic overnight with JetBlue this week and couldn’t get a minutes sleep, seat comfort really not great. Slept for much of this flight so does say a lot about the seat design!
How early one can select the seat numbers? Some airlines allow four months before the journey. How is it possible? Earlier airlines used to allow only 24 hours early. I missed all good seats for the upcoming journey. Are middle seats comfortable? Which seats face more turbulence?
Typically upon booking you can with any airline however, depending on status, this often comes at a cost. With BA my can select at any time with gold or silver status, with bronze you can choose 7 days before and with all other ticket types,I think it’s only on check in. Turbulence wise, I’d recommend a seat on the wing for the smoothest ride :)
32 days! I'll be on that plane in Nashville heading for Heathrow! I hadn't noticed before that they CHARGE !!!!!! for Wifi!!! And, I just got a "Big Boy" phone!!! Bahahahahahahaha! Well, good thing I like books!!! Thanks so much for these. Joey
Economy class, economy report...ha!!! I was just settling down looking forward to the gin and snack trolley and then dinner only to be faced with brekkie and landing..duh!! Compared with your previous longer LHR-LAX AA flight, I thought the seating legroom looked superior along with the 2 full meal services. I'm sure the newer aircraft offered a more comfortable travelling atmosphere so are individual air vents really necessary? BA are coming good but the bean counters need to review that Wi Fi charging though. Oh 1.41..sharp hair style!!!
Why don't ba just completely get rid of seats and let people sit on the floor. Their quality significantly plunged over a decade like everything else in the UK
Presented so well, and edited down to 5 mins ⭐!! Wow! Going on an a350 to vegas in a couple weeks, so did wonder where would be a decent seating area. Like rows 45-47 zone.
Y+ is a waste of money since any extra space you have is eliminated the moment the seat in front reclines. They need hard shell seats so your space is always your space.
Hmmm depends on your perspective I guess. I’d argue that given the amount of recline, you can do the same to then capture that space back. Personally, I’ve never found the recline of other passengers an issue in PE. Agreed however that hard shell seats are the way to go…
Awwh, you should be fine. Top tips from my side: - Pack polo mints or similar to have on descent, that should really help, deffo did for me as a kid - Take headphone or air pods out of your ears to help them equalise can help also Nowadays with the cabin aircraft with the cabin setting that much lower you should be fine 😊
Thanks, Handsome. Nashville to London in mid September! All I care about is reading my book and being able to listen to music on my fully-charged phone. You can tell this is new to me except for Austria before 9-11. Do you think I'll have any trouble?
Unsure just now but don’t think so, it’s something I’m going to start looking at as part of reviews as aware airlines have started offering it. Hopefully one of my amazing viewers can help out in the comments!
@@teachermichelle9632 It's just that I record everything on my phone. Now that you and @Travelsbydreamer told me the advantage of it I will book those seats in the future 🙂.

Appreciate the input. The economy seats can be pretty tight indeed when the person in front reclines!

Those seats look well crisp and tidy, a lot nicer than what I remember BA seats to be.
Yeah, a big move forward for sure!
do they provide you with free earphones in economy? or do i have to bring my own?
Yeah, they give you some basic ones 😊
2:52 "Nice responsive touchscreen"... presses 3 times and waits 5 seconds for it to switch to the TV tab 😂
User error on that occasion 😂

Don't mind the older 777s to be honest. The recently densified ones with 10 abreast are terrible though
@@jayd1426 Yeah, so few of the 3-3-3 777's about these days. Have seen it on JAL and Kuwait air as two more recent airlines.
