    People hate the 3.6 because of chain slap but that’s usually only when the correct oil changes haven’t been done! I’ve had multiple 3.6 engines with no problems! Great video bro!

    My cadillac dealer put mobil 1 synthetic in my v sport for free for 3 years under the Cadillac free maintenance plan because that's what factory fill called for. They have since changed it though to where it's only 2 oil changes now.

    Thanks Daniel. Your videos are very informative and insightful. Keep them coming. Also, thanks for the info on Trifecta Performance. I'm going to go forward with the upgrade. I'll record and share the process with the rest of the CTS-V Sport world through your channel.

    Another extremely well done video, as always! 👍👍 The only thing that I would have added is to be careful when replacing your oil filter not to touch the gasket area on any dirty surfaces while you're moving it into place. While access is excellent on the V-Sport, it's not so nice on other applications.

    For anyone talking bad about Fram, that was their bottom barrel filter back in the day. The ultra synthetic is actually one of the best filters on the market.
    I used to be a wix guy and switched to this for price and the better media/ design.

    Good video, I think it turned out how my video would if I did it! One small thing on the hand tightening of the filter and just snugging of the drain plug. You don't go he-man on them because the heat tightens it up. That does happen, but the reason you don't is because both these are designed as O-ring seals to allow for less torque and more variance in final torque. Big reason on the drain plug is the more common use of aluminum in the oil pan and the desire to not strip threads out.

    Awesome video! I have a 2017 V-Sport and I can't find exactly how much oil to put in. I'm pretty positive it's the same engine as yours so it should be 7 quarts but I want to be sure.

    • @JetFuelOnly

    Hey, Danial, really like the video. My included maintenance runs out in a couple months, so this was very helpful. You scrolled quickly across the screen that our LF3 will need an "O" ring replaced...what does the O ring go on, and where do we need to get a replacement from? Thanks!

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope! That applies to the LFX motor only. The LF3 no O rings to replace. At some point, you may want to replace the washer on the drain plug though.

    Hey question I have a 16 ATS V and just did an oil change put the recommended 6qts in and didn’t see anything on the dipstick so bought a 5 gal jug(on sale) and got a little crazy on the pour and put a qrt and a quarter in and now it looks over full in the video you say right in the middle of the crossed hash marks and once you check you’re at the top cross hatch where should I be at on these dipsticks lol I’ve always had fill or full on mine so I’m not sure

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Top of the hash marks is max. If it’s beyond that you can get a fluid hand pump at the auto parts store and run a tube down the dipstick to remove some.
      Your ATS-V takes 7 qt total with filter change.

    • @Wisco_Ram_Page
      @Wisco_Ram_Page ปีที่แล้ว

      @JetFuelOnly first off thanks for the reply you channel has been crazy helpful but do you think just a 1/4 quart over could make it that full I would say I'm basically at the top of the cross hatching(the higher one where its connected to braided wire) or just a little past it and do you think middle of dipstick between cross hatching would be more ideal

    I use Mobile One & Valvoline Full synthetic on all my cars! I have been driving since 1987 and have never ever had an engine blow with those oils! I own 5 cars so I only change the oil in my CTS once a year since I only drive about 5-6,000 miles a year on her. That’s why I use Mobile One Extended Performance (which says 15,000 per change ) although I never go that far on any of my cars! Thank you for all the great videos. So very appreciated. Have any Videos on how to change out the tranny fluid and or filter? I can’t find any on the net or TH-cam for a 2014 CTS 3.6 L (non V) It’s like nobody has done one for a 2014 or newer??? Very strange. Any links or help on this omg would be great. I really want to get it done but I want to do it! Like you I don’t want anyone touching my car! Thank you.

    • @JetFuelOnly

    Can you tell me how to properly check the fluid level in the AISIN TL- 80SN 8 speed automatic transmission in Cadillac CTS Vsport 2014-2019? Can`t find it anywhere.

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You don’t check it. It’s a sealed system. Just change it at the suggested interval (I think it’s 75k miles - it’s in the manual). Special full procedure with special fluid, I recommend it get done by a knowledgeable dealer

    • @JetFuelOnly
      @JetFuelOnly  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      A transmission shop can do the change for you but theirs no point in checking fluid level unless you have a leak. There’s a fill port on the side of the unit that drips when filled properly.

    • @JohnyHPG

    Done use FRAM ---> After some research with multiple reviews, Fram came at the bottom of the list most of the time. They have the name, but lost the quality - NAPA Gold and WIX are made better internally - my 2 cents. - Tell me what you think...

    Why use Mobil 1 oil and then use a horrible Fram filter! Use Mobil 1 filters! Fram has actually had the insides disintegrate and then plug up oil passages and then destroy engines! No GM 3.6 V6 HFV6 should ever go over 5K between oil changes if you want your cam chains to last.

  • @z512345
