    Well done girls, lovely finds and great to see you out on the foreshore with Si finds. It's fascinating how the Thames sorts things into areas or patches of certain things, it must go on the weight or material that's pushed about with the tide. Good luck for your future mudlarks, I've subscribed to follow your adventures. Liked all of the finds, but the teeth are a NAH from me :)

  • @patstats1
    @patstats1 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The false teeth…constructed to conform to the roof of the wearer’s mouth. Some people have convex shaped palates as opposed to concave. Often there is a bony protrusion called a palatal torus. However, that bony growth wouldn’t leave that shape in the denture. Perhaps this wearer had a cleft palate or some other mouth anomaly.

    Interesting finds.
    With all due respect,I totally freak out at the idea of finding old dentures!!!!
    They just Wierd me out,when seen so out of context.
    Simon’s(I call him Simon,as I have never met him,so formality is in order)small Roman coin is indeed impressive,considering that it was found against the backdrop of the massive Thames.
    The artists have the eye.
    They always do.
