🤔 Can't believe you aren't over 50k subscribers???? With all the jealous and haters you would be closer to 100k!!!!!!! THE KING OF U-TUBE FOR SURE!!! NONE BETTER BROTHER!! CONGRATS!!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks for the kind words Ray and glad you’re enjoying. Thankfully I don’t seem to get much hate or much jealousy so if that means slower growth I’m all for it 🤣 Many thanks for your continued support! John
Mitzi, the disgruntled, but much loved team member. 😂 Good to see you have recovered and are back swinging the magic treasure finder. Thanks for the detailed finds video.
Mitzi is not vague about her opinion and attitude! 🤣🤣 sweet little kitty…being practically stepped on by the pup! Nice to see your finds in the light box. Cheers!
Congratulations on the celtic! As you say even though it is a forgery they are still fantastic to find, as you say they still come from that period and they still have a story to tell. Thank you for the detailed video. See you on the next dig! 😊
Great to hear you are feeling much better. Thank you for sharing your treasures and CONGRATULATIONS on the remarkable coins, even the counterfeit one. Thank you for sharing the information on the Rodney Cooke Rally. It's fabulous it's become such a success for funding cancer research.
I believe that hole in the canon ball would have been packed with gunpowder and shot and a fuse inserted so the canon ball would explode when the fuse, which would be ignited by the cannon blast, burned down to it. The length of the fuse could be used to get it to explode at the right time.
Awesome finds! I believe they would have put the gunpowder inside the canon ball - hence the hole. Glad you're feeling better. Love as ever to see the furballs 🙂😻🐶
Great group of finds. The Celtic coins with CVN are often attributed to King Cunobeline (c10 to 42 AD), the King Cymbeline of Shakespeare, Even if it is a contemporary counterfeit, it is still a great relic of a famous king. Some people apparently believe the the name Cumobeline is actually a title rather than a name, meaning War Chief. Great cannon ball, too.
Your have the best channel I watch, I would love to go to Scotland and have a few hunts, I'm a Duncan and my family roots are from Perthshire it would be so awesome, I live in upstate NY I'll be watching your video this Sunday
Hello John, some very nice finds. I have traveled far and wide to collect cannon balls. And your Celtic piece even a forgery is a collectible. Very nice all around… John
@@billbhein2949 I can’t answer that on this coin but I have seen that occur on other coins. Like anything it all depends on what someone is willing to pay.
Good to hear you are feeling yourself. Too bad you couldn't enjoy your finds when you found them due to feeling ill, but I'll bet you are over the moon looking back, now that you are feeling better. I always enjoy the history you provide with your finds.
I looked for you at the RCM John but sadly didn't see you, no wonder if you weren't well. Glad you're mended up now though. Looking forward to tomorrow's video. 👍
Hi John, glad you back on your feet again. As a cook I always associate chafing dish as a type of dish to keep food warm like a ban Marie. There are some similar looking handles on the interweb if you Google it. Do you think that the cannon ball was ever fired? If the fuse went into the ball was it like a grenade, I'm a bit confused. Thanks for the heads up on your new permission video, am eager to be amazed 👍

Looking at the wear pattern on your Celtic Quarter Stator you might find that it is actually solid gold and not a copy. If you get a needle, find one of the dark pitted sections, poke it in and twirl it around, that could very well reveal that it is actually solid gold. I think it is worth you attempting this.
I think I would downright pass out if I ever found a Celtic coin counterfeit or not! Congratulations! 🎉🎉 I scoured several sites with Celtic coins and was not able to find a match 😢 However, I did find a Celtic coin dealer by the name of Chris Rudd that offers free coin identification via email. I can't post it on TH-cam because it will block my comment, but I can send it to you on one of your other socials if you'd like.
Hi ya matey. your cannon ball looks suspiciously like one end of a Victorian cast iron dumbbell!Google it and have a look. Hope that it's still a cannon ball, fingers crossed 😊
I have no direct knowledge by experience or studying of any 17th century cannonball from English Civil Wars of 1640s but question the surface corrosion it is not much on there and I would expect close to 400 years of iron in ground the object would have more rust and crud build up? There is lots of moisture there and far from an arid climate how can it be not more corroded? Asking
You’re right Joan! Says it all about the quality of modern coins and back in the day when coins in your pocket or leather purse actually had a value! Thanks for watching
Congrats John on a HELL of a hunt!!!! Nothing less then totally exciting coming from you Sir!! Congrats!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks ray!
Wow! Some fantastic finds. I loved the counterfeit Celtic coin that was made back then. Really cool!
No question; this is my favorite TH-cam Channel, and for good reasons!

GREAT FINDS!!!! LOVE THE HORSE COIN, EVEN IF IT IS FAKE!!!!!!!

DUncan.. John is the greatest!
Hello John, some very nice finds. I have traveled far and wide to collect cannon balls. And your Celtic piece even a forgery is a collectible. Very nice all around… John
Would the forgery be worth more than the real coin now because of its novelty value?
@@billbhein2949 I can’t answer that on this coin but I have seen that occur on other coins. Like anything it all depends on what someone is willing to pay.
Great new Wooley Hat!!
What a great "pocket full" of goodies. Hope that made the trip worthwhile. Amazing stuff!!
Mitzi's face is hysterical she never said she wanted to be on camera 😂😂

Aha! Thanks Micah. Many thanks and yes I’ve heard of Chris Rudd. I’ll look him up thanks
You did it Celtic 🎉 and counterfeit 😂 I’m pretty sure your kitty did not approve of being a forced mascot of the channel 😂
Aww Jura kisses ❤ She's a beauty!
Your Celtic coin resembles a Caratacus gold stater,
What else to say than.... ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Many thanks hector! I’ll have a look and happy hunting
Were contemporary counterfeit “celtic” coins rarer than the genuine ones?
Why does the cannon ball have a hole in it?
Spoon says sifelia for name (later changed to sipelia) back to the vid…
Sixth! 🤦♀️🤍✌️
Here’s a gold star for trying! ⭐️ have a great weekend Tammy
@@thescottishdetectorist thanks! 😂. Really looking forward to tomorrow’s video!

The coins that are 2k years old look better than your spendable.

Just wonder 🤔 Coins over 100 years old needs på be proven by British Museum/export documents. Am I wrong hete 😅?
