New bow season is here! One of the best times of the year. Darton came out swinging! Great looking bow. No E clips, new tuning features. Good stuff for sure.
A lot of people forget that Darton’s technology is in almost everybody everywhere. They were definitely some innovators back in the day. They hold patents on all kinds of stuff.
Josh, besides the fact that Darton delivered a superb product, you have really hit your stride on the bow reviews. This is arguably the best bow review on TH-cam. It really looks like you've worked things out and your confidence in your presentation shows. Well done brother 👏👏👏
Darton coming out absolutely swinging for 2025. Hoyt, PSE, and Mathews better step it up. Bowtech, Elite, and now Darton have press less tuning available on their flagship models. That is HUGE.
Bought one yesterday at a local shop...can't wait to get it next week after they build/tune. I'll be dropping more money in the future at their shop and Podium...great videos and thanks for pushing people (myself included) to local shops to keep them strong.
Having watched another video with the owner on it I would buy it if I were in the market for a new bow. A stand up great guy with a great relationship with the lord. I like Mathews but my guess is this company is going over take some of the other brands.
Loving the look of this bow and so good to see someone posting realistic speeds. Love the tune ability of this bow but MFJJ for your question about what else for tuneability i belive Wheeling, timing, draw length, and letoff should be counted for tunabilaty
I wonder how long it will be till Darton is mysteriously selling gazillions of replacement parts of those string tuner adjusters, all you need is a set of those, and a custom length cable set……would work best for the duel payout binary like Darton uses, or a Mathews system, but could work for ALMOST any bow, could maybe even do it on a straight cable binary, you may just need a short cable with an extra big loop …..Hmmmm

Great review, about the only commentary I thought was lacking was how well balanced the bow felt. If the bow is 5 lbs, but all you need is the stubby stabilizer to compensate for a typical bowsight because the bow is bottom-heavy, that alleviates some of the weight concern for me because one does not need to add a lot of additional stabilizer weight. I also like the rigor of the new rating system--extremely challenging for a bow to exceed 75 on a 100 point scale. And also degrees of magnitude more discriminating than anything Lancaster has ever produced. With Lancaster, it's as if they are afraid to say ANYTHING negative. Every change by every manufacturer is GREAT, so it's hard to discern which bows really stand out from watching a Lancaster review. But that tuning system that Darton came out with this year truly looks special.
Thank you for the video, i was leaning towards a new Lift. Darton wasn't even a manufacturer i was considering, but now.... it definitely is, and i need to find a shop that carries them.
I was going to purchase a lift 29.5 last year. Then the cracks started happening. I ended up going with the sequel 31. The local shop carried them and I got it for 300 off msrp. I absolutely love this bow. It is heavier than my Hoyt was but it’s a dream to shoot. I also like having something different than the in crowd. My local range is all lifts. Had a 20 something year old kid tell me he’s never heard of Darton and that made my day. I didn’t get the st as it wasn’t out yet but is a wonderful bow. You definitely won’t regret purchasing it.
I really love all the content that you and Dan put out because it never seems like y'all have a bias on any product. On that note is there a way you can you do a video explaining how different heights of arrow vanes can affect the arrow flight especially with broadheads? I am completely lost on this thought process.
Props to Darton for shipping a bow that matched advertised specs on weight and speed without having to unbolt anything or cheat on to get the numbers. I’ll be looking for a Darton dealer near me to try one of these.
All Darton needs now is to lengthen the limb pocket bolt to release pressure enough to just remove the string and cables. Been done before and would be nice to see again.
I love the content!! Thanks for doing all of this testing!! Just wanted to throw this out there about decibels: Sound and music technology The 3 dB rule states that when the volume of a sound is increased by 3 decibels (dB), the power of the sound doubles. This rule is useful for adjusting volume levels and ensuring consistency across different locations.
I love nirvana to. Love da show. The fact that I don’t need a bow press. Imma get a darton just because of that. But I’m keeping my Hoyt and pse. And your definitely right about somebody try to make that adjustment system. You don’t need a bow press. F- - kin awesome
That’s a great bow packed with features. I like that Darton is honest I wish I had a dealer close by. I absolutely love how you do everything possible to deal with the hater’s.
I love the way the average guy can now adjust certain things for ease of tuning. But not sure if you are like myself and realize more bolts and screws = more things that could possibly fail. Good looking rig though great video!
I love all of your reviews and this thing is making me want to change from my Sequel 33 😂 My one criticism is on your speed and draw length testing..... Most companies have them rated at 80% let off and while that obviously affects speed.... Definitely changes draw length on bows like the Darton and elite. I bet with the bigger stops on that 35 it would have been spot on for draw length. On my sequel I lost enough draw length with the low let off washers I had to extend my d loop
This looks like a great bow and I am thinking that longer ATA hunting bows are going to become more common this year and beyond. I bought an SX80 this year and absolutely love it, best bow I have personally shot. This looks like a very comparable bow with all specs that would also make it a perfect western hunting rig. Also great to see new tuning features that can compete with the Bowtech's.

It would be interesting to see how much quieter the bow is when shooting the 600 grain compared to the 350 grain, after all it's more important to be quite than fast
I shot Darton back around the time of the Allegiance from Bowtech. They were smoother, easy shooting bows then. Then... they kind of fell off for awhile imo. After seeing this, I think Darton has snuck in to the top dog category of bow manufacturers (which I'm happy about, they don't market like others and nor do they need to owning the patents they do) and I'm thinking this might be the bow of choice this off-season... We will see what PSE and Matthew's do. Bear made a banger in the Persist (it's heavy too) but this Darton has surpassed that. People can clearly perceive level differences of 3 dB. If the sound amplitude increases by 6 dB, it would be a doubling. But it is only at 10 dB that people notice the increase of a doubling of the volume.
Just the "Loadout point" doesn't say much about the string angle at your face without also knowing the distance of that "line" it makes to the grip (or from the point to the axle, we can for the sake of simplicity probably ignore the travel fore and aft of the axle going from brace to full draw, from there on, you can add brace to the equation). Plus where the grip is in relation to the axles affects string angle at face. I'm sure a similar load out point will feel different from a Darton (for example) to specifically a Prime because of where exactly the grip is. Not sure how all other (non Prime) brands compare, but I think they're close.

Don’t forget some of the weight is from the higher grade aluminum isn’t it?
Yes
Can you make a video on tap( titanium archery products), there’s upgrades for the pse Mach 30, hopefully you can review them to see if they’re worth it
What is reflux? What does it have to do to make the bow better?
That bow looks pretty sweet.
Value number should be higher considering the tunability, sound, ability to change different mods and the fact they are using custom strings.
I will def be checking this bow out when I switch after this season
Absolutely intriguing and amazing 👏
Love my Sequel 31 but I see a new Darton 33 incoming soooon!
Fantastic bow! Definitely on my watch list!
Do y'all remember the PSE Mach X that had individual adjustments on each limb?
Was probably a darton Patent licenced to PSE at the time. That's how they made most of their money over the years.
@@the_sharp_carpenter Yea, not a darton patent bud. I Think you'd be surprised on how many Patents PSE holds. The Mach X was released in 2007.
Probably still a Darton patent
Nice bow well done Darton and great review 👍🏹
