1:46 dropped that 5 second clip like we wouldn't notice. This looks amazing, the background reminds me of dead cells and I love it!

lol yup, figured it'd be a fun easter egg for anyone watching closely enough.

Love the format, it's always nice to see a face behind the voice. I also have to admit that I would have never guessed that TetherGeist is a spare time project. Looks very professional to me.

Hi! Rae from O and Co here 👋🏻 Thanks for your compliments on how the game looks! I wanted to clarify: Jordan and I are part-time on TetherGeist, but Noah has been full time for almost a year now. 💪🏻 He takes on occasional side gigs, but TG is his main focus.

Good one Jordan, the public likes to empathize with the creators and seeing a face is part of that.
Added to the fact that a more unstructured format is more relaxed and people who like to listen to podcasts without having to see something on the screen appreciate.
It is really difficult to meet or find people with a sense of responsibility with whom you have synergy, inevitably some leave in the way. But when you find them is pure magic.
At the same time, it is difficult to demand results in a scenario like this. So in my case I depend a lot on my experience in project management and stick to best practices, but with a range of flexibility so as not to overwhelm the team.
Although some get a symbolic payment upfront, from my pocket, for their work to compensate their time and effort, because time is the of the most scarce assets and one that couldn't be recovered back, and is my duty to manage it the best way possible.

Wishlisted! As a fan of platformers, I'm looking forward to the release of your game! Your story is inspiring and resonates with what I'm experiencing right now. I have a full-time job and am on the verge of creating an indie dev team to focus on our own indie games.

Woah, haven't been active for a while now, but I have to say this is a really cool format, looking at all the new progress on the game is sick and it's impressive how even with so much you all have found a way to work together well and still find time for the project with the same ambition as when you guys started. The game is going great keep up the amazing work!

Your story of building a team is like 1:1 with my own. Finding that synergy is incredibly difficult man, you are hella lucky :D

What helps me with balancing gamedev and work is planning. With that I can make the most of the little free time that I have. And it also helps with seeing progress: if I finish something from the plan, I know that I am getting closer to the finish (except for when the plan keeps growing and growing... but we don't talk about that 🤫)

The new video format/series is a win! It is tough being solo and trying to squeeze in any time I can to work on my game with adult responsibilities. I do as you do with treating it as “fun time” though.

I liked the video and am subscribed. I'll definitely keep watching all of O. and Co.'s videos, but I will say that the Q&A video format falls to the bottom for me insofar as content goes. I love what you're doing with the game and enjoy watching videos that highlight the game being made (whether with voiceovers for "how to" or "heres our update".
Not wanting to throw shade or anything, just giving honest feedback :) keep it up! Love seeing you guys progress!

Yeah, this is great feedback! This video is underperforming compared to other videos on the channel, so it's certainly something we'll have to keep in mind.

I find that unfortunately team synergy often comes from choosing people that are easy going and generally accepting of others. This goes back to the idea that you should meet many people and fill your gamedev team with people that have a differing skill sets from you.
A lot of meeting the right people comes down to luck but you can always stay friendly and interview lots of people from a random discord post you made saying your looking for a team mate. Those discord servers do work and I have found some great friends there. That's the advantage of working with gamedevs that are your friends, chances are if they like you, they will probably like another one of your friends that also likes you 😁
