I never thought about how satisfying the sounds in chapter 1 are but it makes so much sense in hindsight. The music theory tidbits were so interesting. I am, once again, immensely impressed with the care you're putting into this game.
It's come along really well! all the additions have really made the game look much fuller and more polished. It looks right up there with Celest, Mario, Shovel Knight and so on!
i love the detail of keeping all sound effects within the same chord, sounding really cool! i love the amount of passion and love yall are putting into this game on another note, i might suggest adding more visual difference to sprites with similar shapes, such as the jellyfish or even the nectar blobs. i feel for most people, making each nectar feel more visually unique will help with memorisation of what each of them do later down the line one there are several, or remembering which jellyfish has which effect on the player, etc. also for colourblind people it could be difficult to determine the difference
@@OandCoGames another o and co W btw are you guys planning to add in little references / easter eggs into the game and if so do you have some in already??? 🍓👀
Fun thought: speed run level that uses all of your sound effects, maybe with some basic background tune, and makes a track(main theme?) when timed perfectly
Love this approach to Sound Design! Making SFX that work either in harmony or dissonance needs to be done more! Really cool use of the tissue aswell! Super inspiring
Wow the game looks great thus far. I've been following the channel for a while and I'm quite impressed with the way everything just meshes together. Keep the devlogs coming!
I saw every devlogs that you post and I don't see challenge in the game i would love to see enemies inside the game Keep the devlogs coming ty so much!
you should look into pressure washing sounds (not gas powered and on a deck). They are SUPER bizarre sounding at times. It almost feels alien at times.
Thats pretty cool. Id love to do sound like this but this just reminds me how sound is my only weakness in game dev. The only thing i can never seem to learn 😂
The jingle sounds pretty delayed after you get the checkpoint but the sounds themselves are nice and relaxing also maybe instead of the meter for the yellow juice you could show it on the character by like having it float behind her or something
It's cool to see the thought process behind the sound effects! Especially as someone who complained about the snapping sound when you can't split and the static sound effect when you are in a purple zone in my feedback haha- did you end up changing/polishing them by the way? :) I'm guessing making such vital sounds is something of a constant project you're never _really_ done with, you can always polish and change them slightly somehow, slowly iterating making them better over time!
Amazing videos youre making! I think that the rejoining sound is still a bit too repetitive when you use it multiple times in air for some puzzles. While "airborn", making each new rejoin have a higher pitch than the last one could help?
Not sure I don't feel the sound effects are sync well with music and the environment, It could be because the sound effect is too loud on the video or the same sound repeated a lot specially when navigating section with multiple sequential sprit splitting (can't remember what you call the action exactly)
As a single developer, this was quite an informative video. The only problem is I do not play games with sound on. Almost never. Sound will be my biggest challenge moving ahead.
@@OandCoGames Thank you I've been searching for this for hours. I can't wait to play Tethergeist, Make sure to eat, sleep and keep your head above water, from one dev to another
Hey, just want to give the feedback that the teleporting sound sort of hurts my ears and would make me stop playing. I recommend something softer for something that plays so frequently
The "shing" is already ear-piercing to me. May be different to others. I recommend asking others.
It could be just a question volume, but I agree its volume could be turned down a tiny bit
Hmm yeah, we should dial it back.
Same here.
I agree. I feel like it’s a little too high pitched imo
@@OandCoGames A subtle low-pass filter may do the trick without the need to adjust volume or pitch. Just a thought.

Absolutely. The green nectar is temporary actually, we'll be using different shapes :)

making sound effects seems so fun to me. like you can do all sorts of stuff that shouldn't fit as well as they do
Right??

Oooo like a Mario Maker song level, but actually challenging. I like this.
I love the way you explain why and how you make changes to the game.
Wow, I really didn't think this much thought goes into sound effects. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!

Yeah, you're not the first to call attention to it. Will definitely be adjusting the volume and making tweaks.

Yeah, sounds like I'm going to have to turn the volume down on that. You're not the only one to mention it.
