All the dishes look excellent. I wish I was there to enjoy the good food. A basic recipe you might want to add to your repertoire is a beurre blanc sauce. Beurre is butter and Blanc is white wine. Lightly flour the fish and saute in butter. First one side then turn the fish and add a shot and a half of white wine, a dash of lemon and a little bit more butter to bring the sauce together. If you add almonds it is called almondine, with capers and a little chopped parsley for color it would be piccata. Chicken piccata is a good one and I like to throw in pistachios. White grapes added and you would call it veronique. Basic simple recipe that you might enjoy. Aloha
I subscribe to many channels that do boat restorations and builds... You should seriously consider going into boat building professionally... your work is exquisite!
Teal might be great at boat building but selfishly, I want to watch him explore and enjoy his life on his boat. Teal, please don’t make boats! Life is a lot more than making money.
I see an award winning cookbook in your future. I'm sure your followers and cruisers would buy it. It looked amazing especially the hot and sour soup. I'm starving now. 👍👍👍
I felt like licking the screen with those Halibut delights, Linh did knock it out of the park very yummy looking and Teal, I'd second that return to week after week of them. Very cool being part of the drill, why not make the Locals feel good about giving the respect to there way of life full on. Delightful visit for sure !!
Just a little sadness in Linh's face when she talks about her mother's soup.... Time to visit Mom! BTW soup looks DElicious. I'd love that here in wet autumn Ireland! Linh! We want a Vietnamese cooking channel!
Goodness...EVERYTHING done on that boat is crafted with meticulous precision. It's truly awesome to view..Teals DIY projects..Linhs recipes and joyful, helping assistance(and patience) Emmas cool vibe and beautiful decal design. So fun to watch! I also feel the boating community is so friendly due to it being made up of people practising the art of solutions. Not endless complaints and identifying problems without doing anything about them. There is alot to learn from the boating community about life in general..imho. Great vlog!
Good soup and cold weather a perfect match. I did see Joyce on the map. Now, I have another destination to explore. Thanks guys and fair winds(less gusty) for SV Basik,
Thumbs up for the video, two golden thumbs for the Michelin star Halibut courses from Chez Linh! Wow. Please post the recipe for the Vietnamese hot & sour Halibut soup.
I'm now lost. Have binge watched your vids and am now reduced to 1 a week. Oh course they make Friday something to look forward to. Keep up the excellent work both online and on boat..
Teal and Emma are very fortunate to have Linh cooking for them. Those halibut dishes all looked fantastic (well, maybe except for the brussel sprouts). Always enjoy your vlogs, keep up the good work. Do you have plans to make that helm station more weather proof?
Linh's Halibut dishes are definitely ' comfort food ' on a cold rainy day and I'm sure the aroma from the kitchen, gave Compass back his sea legs( hope you're better little buddy)....Be safe family and thank you for your wonderful videos.....and ladies, watch out for those Sea Lions...
Watched your video at 0600 this morning , what shocking weather but Linh"s Halibut menus made me feel real hungry even at this time of day , great cooking and video guys
Halibut Spaghetti Sauce: 1 Can Diced Tomatoes w/Basil/Garlic/oregano, 1 can condensed Vegetable Beef Soup, coarse chopped onions. Saute Onions, add can of tomatoes and the condensed Vegetable Beef soup and a little soy sauce. Poach Halibut is sauce. Serve over Spaghetti or eat as a stew.
I’m from neah bay, that storm was really nasty, caused the main road base to shut down due to dirt slides. The tsunami trail that you went on, my boyfriends dad built that a couple months ago! So it’s still new. I’m glad you guys enjoyed the halibut, the meals look so delicious!
The only negative in any of your videos is the fact we have to wait another week for the next one. Amazing culinary skills young lady. Y'all keep making videos and we will keep dreaming.
i feel hungry now ! and thankyou for your comments for the loss of our little one three weeks ago, still miss the little fella. where we rested him we now call that area custa lane in his memory. you are so awesome to watch. teal you a re a very lucky fella, i know the treatment you get as i also marreid to the asian side. i know how good you get treated. again awesome to follow, thank you guys. you are my favourite
7 knots under 13, jib only, very impressive, can't wait for you to be fully rigged so you can uncork her! Dear god every one of those plates was mouth watering! Nice job Lynn, what a cook! Bring back the recipe vids! Excellent story this week, as always your hard work putting these together is very much appreciated. A Q&A sometime would be great!
Oh lordy Linh, you are making me hungry. One suggestion for Teal and I don't know how important this is to you. But at about 5:27 I noticed where you were putting your left foot. It might be worth while to think about some kind of footrest or protection so you don't wear down the gelcoat or paint by resting your foot there.
Glad to see you guys finally under sail. I can see Linh's joy practically oozing out of her ... smiling and all happy... so nice to see :-) So Keep up those great spirits ... both you girls .
Linh- you rock! Awesome culinary skills AND a 1st rate First Mate. Teal is one lucky skipper, safe travels. Emma is most fortunate to have you 2 as her parents, good on ya.
Just another note....Halibut is my favorite fish (next to Rainbow Lake Trout) you can get.... all 7 of the meals Linh prepared looked amazing... You have a wonderful family there. Enjoy the journey !
Food is really important to me so I always make sure the crew is well fed. Plus cooking is how I get creative onboard. 😜 Makes me happy to see my family and friends enjoy my cooking. 👍🏻
Truly a pleasure to watch your videos! The detailed projects, with first rate craftsmanship, the joyful family dynamic and the ability to make an adventure out of the mundane or out of trials is just amazing! Thank you so much for sharing! Really made my day!
Neah Bay is a great place to wait out the weather, I have been off Cape Flattery about 50 miles in some not so nice seas and wind in my old 37 Hunter Cutter and my buddies 44ft Choey Lee ketch. Both times it was blowing 25-35 with 15 ft seas, sloppy and not fun at all. The boat is looking great Teal!! Garhauer is the ONLY deck hardware I will use!!
I am so glad the jib track broke. I'm so concerned about you heading down the coast this time of year. I also know there isn't a more prepared boat and crazy Teal.. as long as he is vertical things should go well. Glad you were treated to well in Neah Bay. Cheers to the native people there.
The PNW is notorious for foul weather. Get that main and a spinnaker and make haste to sunny San Diego and points South. Have you thought about a square top main? With a composite main, carbon battens and four reef points you can get a twenty year sail if you just cruise but you will have more power on a broad reach plus beam reach and point higher with more apparent wind than a pin head main. Every cat I have owned I put square top mains on, they are easy to hank and easy to reef. They give about 15% more overall performance in light winds. Just my humble opinion but you have an excellent daggerboard catamaran that would gain two to three knots of performance in light air. Considering how fast you were sailing with just a jib straight downwind you need a spinnaker or screacher on another roller furler. Your boat is looking great.
Wow some of them meals Linh made with the fish look out of this world, brilliant. First time I have made a comment on you channel but I would just like to say, you are a lovely family and you do some dam fine work on that boat buddy, always 110% thought out, your installations are second to none, neat tidy really nice work, well done. All the very best of luck for the future, may you have fair winds, following seas, water under your keel, and diesel in your tanks, and lots of sun, you guys have a safe and pleasant voyage South, happy sailing.
Discovered your channel last Saturday and 7 days later I am caught up to episode 86. Love the projects because I would be doing them the same way you did. I've never worked on a boat but have built my own house and airplane. Will be hard having to wait a week between episodes. :(
I live in Port Angeles and have been a member of the Cement Masons 528 in Seattle since the 80's which means I get to work on any Union jobs in the area.... One turned out to be at the Naval Station in Neah Bay.... We were there 6 weeks and it rained every day. The contractor built 30 ft x 50 ft portable roofs they move with cranes to cover the concrete we poured. When you are in Neah Bay it is Rain Gear and Tarps on the list of needs.
Halibut looked AMAZING as usual with your cooking young lady! Teal, your yacht is beautiful! If I had to be on a boat when something broke. I would choose you or Brian from Delos to be there with! 😁
Thankyou again for this episode guys, alway a joy to watch and join you with your adventure. ..... that completes my Friday evening, blissfully appreciated. 🤗
Looking like some very delicious meals. Made me hungry. I always enjoy learning from your experiences with the family life sailing. I spent time on my brother's trawler and can only dream of a life sailing. Hats off to you all
Love love LOVE when you come into a place and people are helpful w/the lines and such..and Fresh Halibut! Would have accepted that challenge too, but also Love what Linh did w/it, and would have no problems with any of those meals!(many would be on my menu too..and would like to try that soup!) What a time for that track to break..but you did know it was due for replacement, although think I still would have waited for Portland, as a rope track has been used by many to get you by. You guys are a bit late running south, and hope you get the weather to do so!
I love watching your videos and experiencing your journey through them, your a star sir, your lovely wife is a gem and your daughter is a beautiful young lady, if it is possible I recommend you find yourself in Greece, the journey would be worth it (if it can even happen), if it can, travel through the islands, and you will never forget it....I promise.
I am a very lucky man. We plan on one day making it over to the Med and cruise that area. Its on Linh's bucket list of places to explore. Thanks for watching!
Really enjoying your videos, even more, now that you're finally sailing. My previous favorite channel stopped sailing and sold their boat to start a family, so it's really nice to see you all out and moving! Keep up the good work (and the videos!) Hopefully, as you get further away from the cities, you'll be able to turn Emma loose with her drone and get some really amazing shots!
I happened to watch one of your videos and was so impressed I have been catching up from the very first to ep. 86 now. Teal you are a superb craftsman and the girls are a lot of fun also. I love the way Linh and Emma just jump right in there to give you a hand. Thanks so much for the videos, looking forward to many more. It is an adventure for all of us.
This video was one of my best loved of all you have made so far. I wanted to sit down with you and enjoy that halibut deliciousness. Each meal you showed was mouth-watering! Your wife is everything a mate could desiire! Your journey so far has been filled with such exciting adventures. Who could ask for more? God be with you and give you safe times and blessed life experiences.
The family and I were in Japan in March, 2011. The tsunami threat is no joke! The wave that hit Sendai was over 100 feet (30 meters) high. Washed much of the town away. Always always heed local warnings! If for no other reason, "just for the halibut" (couldn't resist). And buy some SV basik swag folks, Compass has a special diet and needs his proper puppy kibble! "Necessity is the mother of all inventions"!! nice work on the jib traveler Teal. BTW, I wouldn't make a habit of leaving the winch handle in the winch, just a personal preference I guess :) Hot & Sour halibut soup sounds amazing Linh! actually every dish looked delicious!! Fair winds and following seas Basik !
I can't wait to see Basik with her full suit flying. I'd take an order of the hot and sour halibut soup, please. I love hot and sour soup. Looks like Lihn has keeping the crew happy under control.
Wow, those meals look like a 5-star chef made them - you're a lucky man Teal!
I am a very lucky man....Linh keeps surprising us with more delicious dishes. Hard to believe she is self taught.
Unbelievable cooking Linh. Can’t wait until your next video. Thanks.
OMG those sea lions are so cool. Noisy little buggers though. Funny that both the girls ran past them :’)
All the dishes look excellent. I wish I was there to enjoy the good food. A basic recipe you might want to add to your repertoire is a beurre blanc sauce. Beurre is butter and Blanc is white wine. Man does she look beautiful sitting in the water. You've done an excellent job on her. Looks perfect. Well done sir, well done.
Wow..what a great work ethic you all have. You should all be very proud.

My Vietnamese wife and I both agree that day 4 looks most scrumptious....; )
Every meal was delicious. Emma and I were very happy and could eat these meals everyday.
Just a little sadness in Linh's face when she talks about her mother's soup.... Time to visit Mom! BTW soup looks DElicious. I'd love that here in wet autumn Ireland! Linh! We want a Vietnamese cooking channel!

Linh says thank you. She did knock it out of the park. Happy crew
A young person reading a book...my faith restored!
Ventos justos e mar calmo ⛵️
She is definitely a reader. We love it!
Linh should seriously consider publishing a seaworthy cookbook for cruisers and coastals
I still use her potato soup receipe....
You are an amazing craftsman. Thank you for sharing your adventure with us armchair travelers.
Linh is quite the creative chef. All the Halibut dishes looked very tasty!!

You know what's the worst? It being close to dinner time, so you're hungry, and then all that glorious halibut comes by... I am so, so hungry.
Steam rice with ginger. Ginger soy and sweet chili sauce with green onion over Chinese 5 spice infused halibut. Stay warm folks. Great cooking.
And so now I'm hungry!

Hi Josanna! It was amazing. Thank you so much for the halibut. We will never forget Neah Bay and the friendliness of the Makah Community. XO Linh

Amazed how big that outdoor area is with the grill. Linh cooking is amazing. Really do love the channel.

On a Sunami drill like that, taking your Ditch Bag or a Nescessities Bag along seems a good idea. Thanks for sharing.
Absolutely!
Definitely thumb up for you guys. Lynn needs her own cooking channel. Stay safe and stay warm.
I may have rewound the playback a couple of times to view Ling's beautiful creations. Miss her cooking vlogs. Very talented chef 🍾
💕💕💕
There's only one thing better than fresh wild caught seafood, an awesome chef to prepare it in so many delicious ways. Wow Linh, very impressive.

I love halibut. Once I made a spaghetti red sauce with halibut cheek meat. AMAZING even with violating culinary rules of using fish in red sauce.

Wow, Linh the soup looked amazing. I can't wait for you to do more cooking videos.
Absolutely beautiful sailing vessel....
Another excellent video. You know, without all the extra music like other guys, you're like the NPR version of sailing channels. lol
It would be nice to see the actual date! Got a long way to go before you get to warmer weather!
Linh, Linh, Linh, I'm now starving! Teal, I've said it many times, you have a great family. Thank you for the video.

Aren't our PNW tribes wonderful. What a talented cook.
Lynn is an amazing Chef!!! Wow!!!
I wore my SV basik "Dad hat" to watch this video (per usual). Yep, makes me feel like part of the crew 😎. Thanks for another great video crew!
Awesome video. Lynn, your Halibut dishes looked wonderful,
Lynn, that was completely unfair! I am now starving! A really brilliant episode as always. Love your videos and love your adventure. Fantastic.
hot & sour looked amazing
Beautiful scenery both on and off the water. Beautiful food in the galley too!
Awesome meals, except for the Brussels sprouts...looking forward to you getting on your way and getting your main sail up. Be safe and happy.
Mmm, Halibut! Linh crushed it. Well done.
I can't wait to see Basik with her full suit flying. I'd take an order of the hot and sour halibut soup, please. I love hot and sour soup. Looks like Lihn has keeping the crew happy under control.
